I know this hospital might not have a good reputation, but I recently went to this hospital through the ER for an emergency and ended up hospitalized for a few days. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean, and the nurses and doctors were very efficient and knowledgeable. The doctors answered all of my questions, they gave me the correct medications to get better, and they set me up with follow up discharge instructions. Even the dietary staff was very friendly, and shout out to the lady that kept her word and brought me scrambled eggs and bacon, bless you. Overall, I had a very positive experience and would recommend this place if you feel you really are having a medical emergency.
The technicians who conducted my mammography and ultrasound sound studies were excellent. They are committed to women's health, and it showed in the following ways: their pleasantness, thorough explanations, careful and timely instructions, and diligence in the execution of the procedures. The ultrasound technician was particularly excellent. She was extremely thorough, communicated every step of the way, and checked in at strategic points during the procedure to ensure my comfort and calm. I am grateful for this team.
I had a really positive experience during my stay at this hospital. From the doctors to the nurses and the entire staff, everyone was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive. Even the cleaning staff went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable, which truly meant a lot.

The medical team took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly, and I never felt rushed or overlooked. They were very supportive throughout my stay, and I especially appreciated the follow-up after I was discharged to make sure everything was going well and that my medications were correct.
You can tell that everyone there genuinely cares about their patients, and I’m very grateful for the level of care I received. Healthcare is not easy, and they show up every day with compassion and dedication.
The only suggestion I would have is to update and remodel the rooms a bit, especially the bathrooms as they could use some refreshing. Other than that, I truly appreciate everything the team did for me and would highly recommend this hospital.
The staff in the ER were great, they were in constant communication with me regarding my issue.
On the ward after admittance the constant beeping of patient monitors was too loud and they kept me from sleeping or testing peacefully. My roommate insisted on watching TV all night long which also kept me from resting. The staff were always in contact with me and very caring. They responded to my needs as soon as possible.i cannot thank them enough. Brittany, my nurse was so nice and caring. I found it interesting and admirable that I got two visits from administrative personnel inquiring about my stay. That showed me great concern for the patient population.
Overall a pretty nice experience.
Just cut down on the constant monitors noises, the loud beeping please!

I was in the hospital for about 1 week for a rare bacterial infection that took over my left arm. It required lots of procedures including a surgery. Overall, my experience was great! The nursing staff and support staff (janitors and food service) are all fantastic and took exceptional care of me! HOWEVER, a number of my doctors were rude, abrasive, arrogant, condescending, and frankly, reckless. My surgeon, in particular, made crass jokes, performed a procedure without anesthetic (against protocol), and botched some aspect of my post-surgery, leading to a terrifying incident where I woke up to the feeling of my arm being on fire! I highly recommend Roxborough, but be VERY careful which doctors are assigned to you, and firmly advocate for yourself if things don't seem right.
The staff right up until seeing the doctor was excellent. My intake was thorough however the doctor I saw Dr. Lopez-Islas lacked bedside manner. I felt like my concerns were brushed off and reduced to a simple headache. I had to request that additional imaging be done because if not she was ready to just send me home. I got no answers as to the cause of my medical concern. There was no explanation as to why it happened, how to prevent it or what to do if it happened again. Doctors like the one I had are the reason I hate going to hospitals. It’s like unless you are critically injured you get no real compassion or concern. My nurse was more concerned. It was also made clear by a staff member that this hospital provides bottom of the barrel service. I will say the gentlemen who performed my CT SCAN were exceptional and really nice and made me feel super comfortable. My nurse was attentive and empathetic. I will not be coming back here and I hope the doctor I saw learns how to treat patients with more concern. I work as a Vet Tech and my animals get better treatment than what I received.
The admission staff was prompt, courteous, and helpful. The ER Supervisor and Nurse were worked very intently to get me to the next step. The ER Dr. and her PA were thorough and kind. The most important part was the Dr. making the decision to get me to a surgeon quickly to have my health concern remedied. However, after calling the receptionist at the surgeons office the schedule my appointment, she put me on hold when I explained to her what the ER doctor direction was. I actually pulled around the building, parked my car, and walked up to the surgeons suite and stood in front of her while she still had me on hold unecccesarily. She should not be in the business of helping people
On 2/26/26 I had a very upsetting and alarming experiencing at the Rox Mem Hospital ER while being seen by Dr. Sandra L Boyd. I slipped and fell on ice outside of my home, leading to painful neurological and physical symptoms. Before I was ever seen by a doctor, I waited over an hour to be registered because no one could locate an employee in registration. I waited another half hour post triage to be taken into a room to be seen by the Dr.
Dr. Sandra L Boyd came into the room to assess my reason for visiting. I explained that I fell and was worried about a potential concussion. I explained symptoms of nausea, dizziness, consistent headaches, pressure in spine and neck…etc. After I was done she began to quite roughly and somewhat unwillingly physically exam me. After the physical exam she began to speak to me as if something I did made her angry. First she asked me “so why are you even here?” and then she rudely asked me if I was pregnant (no I am not) and if I was on drugs (no I am not). After answering those questions she said she was going to run a urine sample and never returned. It was almost 3 hours before a random nurse discharged me with no follow up from the doctor. I waited longer to be seen and leave than the time I spent with a doctor or nurse.
As a young black woman, I am always prepared to deal with prejudice medical negligence. But never in my life have I experienced such blatant stereotyping which put my health at risk. Dr. Boyd treated me as if my goal in coming to seek treatment was to get one over on her. That is how I also heard her treating a woman across from me. Speaking to her as if she was stupid and wasting her time.
The medical gaslighting led me to leave confused and unsure what I said that would prompt her not to believe I needed medical attention. Or what I said that made her so angry at me. The next day I went to urgent care and was diagnosed with a concussion and severe muscle spasms. Thankfully my injuries were mild, but if I had a severe TBI, what would Dr. Boyd have done? Who has she treated as just another “pregnant black woman” or “drug addict” in place of tending to their needs? How many people have left in more danger under her care? It’s unfair that people in need should have to experience being cared for in such disappointing circumstances
