I presented for spinal surgery under Professor Nagaria on the 15th May. The care I received from Professor Nagaria was peerless as indeed was my care from the anaesthetist Jamil who was most supportive. The theatre staff were wonderful, kind, compassionate as indeed were their colleagues in Recovery. A special mention must be given to all the the staff in St. Luke’s Unit from catering, HCAs and all the Nurses,they all have a wonderful gift striking a difficult balance between clinical and compassion, without the former overwhelming the latter, treating those in their care holistically, not as a neurosurgical or orthopaedic case but as a human being. They have set the bar ridiculously high for the level of care that patients experience in their loving and supportive care. The HCAs were truly wonderful, again supporting the person rather than the patient, making me smile and laugh in what was a challenging stay. A final shout must go to Dr. Muhammad Ashfaque Abro, cardiologist, who attended me during a very challenging time, who gave me levels of support and care whilst at the same time kept me abreast of my treatment, his was the most challenging of tasks as I attend another cardiologist in another clinic. All I can offer is a rather humble thank you to everyone at the Hermitage Clinic, not forgetting Clare and Eamonn in the Diagnostic Imaging department and Christina, from Phlebotomy. Thank you all.

Spent all day yesterday in the emergency department with my husband in the Hermitage Hospital. What a 5* experience from start to finish. Dr. Foley was amazing. He was calming and such a thorough examination. Everything was explained and all tests were carried out on the same day, results within hours. Fantastic experience thank you to all the staff who were so kind and professional. Again Dr. Foley was amazing. Thank you. Every time we have been in the emergency department we have had a fantastic experience. Keep up the good work.
I'm late posting review, but i had pretty intense surgery on my skull and upper spine in June 2024. The surgery was done by a Beaumont doctor but was outsourced to the hermitage as they had no beds. My experience in the hermitage was so good. Although very painful, the staff, nurses and doctors were all amazing. Ward was spotless, food was very nice. Everything was done efficiently, pre surgery bloods etc; there was not much waiting around
Just dropped off a fan for my MIL as there is no air conditioning in any rooms!! What a disgrace for a fairly new private hospital making millions in profit! And she asked for an egg for breakfast and was given rock hard weetabix that were obviously left sitting out and was sniggered at when she asked for her egg. Will never use this hospital. Staff are not friendly or helpful
My dad attended a&e with urgent referral and they failed to even read the Doctors notes on referral letter leaving my Dad more distressed. Turned out they hadn’t the equipment to treat him anyway so we took him elsewhere. The hospital service has declined over recent years. Used to be a great place. There is also a lack of compassion. Suspected internal bleeding
I would not recommend going to the Hermitage A&E. Go to another private A&E or go public and you will receive a far higher standard of care. We attended 01/05/26.
Rude clerical worker at A&E reception.
10 hour experience...staff had gone home, checked twice to make sure we hadn't been forgotten after the intial consultation.
Finally saw doctor again at 7.45pm for diagnosis who then told us to "go find" a nurse to take out the canula so we could go home.
After a stressful 10 hours I was told that they had no record of the €700 cover payment on arrival. I thankfully found receipt after a frantic search.
Bill came to €539 plus €20 parking charge.
Please go somewhere else!
I can't understand the overall rating when there are so many one star reviews given including mine.
Went to the Hermitage Wednesday morning around 10.30 am
Atrial Fibrillation first blown long event. Not seen by Dr. Omar until 16.30 even though HR at 160bpm
Seen by nurse only during this time.
Then he was off to an overseas conference. So no review by him the following day. If I had been in.distress overnight who would have cared for me?
No availability to do an Echo.No slots available. Supposed to be a Rapid Access Cardiac Unit.
Charged 700e for some basic blood tests and consultant review.
Didn't manually check my pulse or listen to my heart and chest.
Didn't examine extremities.
No one asked me had I a mouth on me. Requested food. Only tea and toast and later tuna sandwich.
Admitted. No supper. Telemetry not organised until 11pm
Meds not given until 11pm.
Very dissatisfied. Its just a business. All about profit margins
Do not go here for A & E, just wait it out in a public Hospital. I really think they only want your money. Was there for nearly 10 hours and it cost me nearly 700 euro. After getting investigations was told by the doctor that I had a bed as they would be keeping me in and then a while after that the lady who was over A&E told me there was no bed but she did not want me to go home because of my situation and I needed to go to a public Hospital. She came to me after a family member went home to get me an overnight bag! I really wish I had gone to a public hospital first instead of wasting my time and money on a private hospital who won't even look after you and pass people on to the public hospitals. I spent 2 weeks in hospital, it beggars belief that they sent me off! But am so grateful to the way I was looked after in the public hospital. This incident has really opened my eyes to the Private health service.
