I have to write a review to praise and thank every member of staff, from the hygenists, porters, theatre staff, aneathatist, excellent students, nurses and physios. A massive thankyou and full respect goes to my surgeon Mr Garala. Who was the only surgeon that was able to undertake my complex surgery. I had been to 2 hospitals prior to this before coming to ROH and it was found only Mr Garala could do it. I will be eternally thankful to him. I am in awe for all that you as a team have done for me to repair and help me regain my life. You have all made an unbearable situation a lot easier. Even the food was lovely and well presented. Nothing is too much trouble for any member of staff. I woild recomend this hospital everytime and will miss you all.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the entire team at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital following my MTP operation on Tuesday 28th April under Mr Prem.
From the moment I arrived, the care I received was outstanding. The receptionist who welcomed me, the nurse who checked my blood pressure, the anaesthetist, the staff who took me down to theatre, and the ADCU team — every single person was kind, professional, and incredibly supportive.
A special mention to the consultant supporting Mr Prem, who was truly exceptional. He took the time to explain everything clearly, was very attentive, and showed genuine care and compassion, which really helped to ease my anxiety.
The whole team made what could have been a stressful experience feel calm and well-managed. My short stay was made so much easier because of their dedication and kindness.
Thank you, Mr Prem and your wonderful team, for delivering such an excellent NHS service. It is very much appreciated.
Absolutely awful. I ended up disabled and likely permanently disabled under their lack of care.
It has been 9 months since I was referred to ROH Pain Clinic in Birmingham for suspected CRPS (over 1 year since my ankle sprain that led to disability) and they failed to properly diagnose me and give me any appropriate treatments, even though all tests and scans were completed in Dec 2025 and CRPS is diagnosis of exclusion. I also showed them photos of my ongoing symptoms.
Their Pain Consultant M Rabie has no proper knowledge of CRPS and does not know budapest criteria used for diagnosis, just because it is a rare condition.
I'm disabled and I severely struggle to walk, but they just ignore me and don't take me seriously. I cannot even sit much due to pressure spots. They unintentionally made my condition worse and after their treatment I had extremely painful, involuntary and long lasting contractions inside my ankle.
I asked to change Pain Management Consultant to one more appropriate for my condition and even that they make very difficult and did not agree yet.
They even made me lie down on 2 chairs for 4 hours whilst waiting for ambulance patient transport, but that I can understand, as this can happen to a disabled person at the hospital. Thankfully I'm slim and flexible and I managed to fit in, but I was close to injuring myself.
I am currently a patient @ The Royal Orthopedic Hospital. I have had a hip replacement operation on the 8tb. Expecting discharge later this afternoon. From the consultation with the administrative consultant, surgeon introduction. S Hussain. The entire nursing team during the daytime and night. Especially the nurse at night sh ift, that calls herself Princess Charlotte. Exceptional humour and professionalism. My total experience of the Royal Orthopedic Hospital and it's team has been a pleasure.
I recently attended the ROH for an ultrasound scan & X-Ray. I was really impressed with the speed & efficiency of each department.
However, I was particularly impressed with the help I received from Aamir, Adam & Courtney. The care & courtesy they showed me truly went the extra mile & I hope they see this & are thanked via their Managers.
Keep up the great work team ROH & thankyou three again 👏 👏 👏
I’ve had 3 knee surgeries in this hospital with overnight stays each time.
Generally excellent, but be aware that the handling of follow up appointments can be very poor - if the time you are due to see your surgeon is coming close, it’s worth chasing up the appointments team to make sure you actually get seen. Easy to slip through the net.
I just dealt with Lisa on the Appointments Team and I cannot praise her enough for her caring nature and the fact she went above and beyond to help me. Whoever is this ladies boss needs to know what a wonderful human being being she is and that they are very lucky to have her on their team. Big love to Lisa - God bless you ❤️
I’ve been receiving onclogy treatment here since 2018 and it is an exceptional hospital in every respect, the friendliest most caring staff I’ve ever encountered in a British Hospital and extremely responsive and efficient when it comes to responding to communication. It is genuinely like dealing with a private hospital, this level of care is what every NHS hospital should aspire to.
