Big thanks to Mr Paul Goldsmith and his amazing team for completing an inguinal hernia operation for me. I developed the hernia during a family holiday in Cornwall over the Easter break on Thursday 9 April. I got nowhere with my GP and was told to expect a six‑week wait just for a scan, and then maybe up to a year before treatment. I was in so much discomfort and felt quite depressed at the thought of living with this condition and the impact it would have on my life and my young family’s. On the Monday I contacted Spire Manchester and they arranged for me to meet Mr Goldsmith on the Tuesday evening for an initial consultation. It was so embarrassing and I was feeling exhausted, but Paul was amazing and booked me in for surgery on 28 April. It’s now 30 May and I feel 100% fixed. I’ve booked a holiday with my family and I’m back to normal life. At 56, the cost of the operation is insignificant compared with my quality of life and my family’s. Massive thanks to Paul and his brilliant team. I’m emotional writing this review because they’ve given me back months and months of normal life. If you suffer from this, don’t wait – get it sorted and get on with your life. Thank you Paul, and thank you to all the lovely, professional people at Spire Manchester.

I had a large ventral hernia repair on 23rd May done by the amazing Professor Sheen, and three weeks into recovery I want to say how wonderful the treatment I received from Professor Sheen and his entire team at the Spire Hospital has been. From my first contact with the hospital, when Professor Sheen’s fantastic secretary Roisin contacted me to arrange my initial consultation, everything has been amazing. The Spire hospital staff were all very welcoming and helpful and made my first ever operation a most positive experience. The hospital is clean and modern, the staff are a credit to the hospital; I would to thank everyone involved in my surgery, especially Professor Sheen and his entire team, and would wholeheartedly recommend him and this hospital if you need surgery.

I had shoulder surgery, pre op appointments with consultant no problem. Day of surgery i was admitted at 7am my surgery wasn't until 4pm, 9 hours sat in a bed waiting. Nurses and staff on day case ward very accommodating. After surgery I felt quite poorly, I had clearly had a bad reaction to the anesthetic. I was told on day case ward due to my late operation and reaction to anesthetic I will be kept in overnight and discharged next morning, which i was happy with as I felt so unwell but I would have to move wards as the day case closed at 9pm. When I got on the new ward it was very obvious from the ward sister that she was not happy I was there. By this time I had gone 28 hours with no food, the sister said due to the time of day there was no food available but she had managed to find a ham sandwich which looked like it had been sat there all day. I asked for a cup of tea and maybe a biscuit but this never came. She was very adamant I urinate and ring my family to take me home as staying over night was not an option. I was discharged from the hospital at 12.30 in the evening with no wheelchair or help from staff. My mother had to literally carry me out of the ward, I was bumping into the walls as I was still very groggy from the anesthetic. I was quite shocked and disappointed with the way I was treated after my surgery and this has definitely put me off having any other procedures done at this hospital

I was in Spire Hospital Manchester for a same‑day procedure, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Mr Ravenscroft was calm, clear and very steady throughout. He explained what was happening without any fuss, which made the whole thing feel far less daunting than it could have been. My nurse, Noku, was brilliant. She kept everything moving, checked in at the right moments, and generally made the day feel a lot easier than I expected. Before I left, Nicole (physio) talked me through what I needed to do once I got home. Straightforward, practical advice — exactly what you want when you’re heading out the door after surgery. And I have to mention Angela, who looked after the catering. She was genuinely lovely — warm, friendly, and just one of those people who brightens the room. For a one‑day visit, the whole thing was handled really well. I felt looked after from start to finish, and I’m very grateful to everyone involved.

After waiting over 12 months on the NHS for a dermatology appointment about a lesion on my nose, I finally met with Dr Chakrabarty and found out it was skin cancer. It was a really worrying time, but he immediately put both me and my family at ease. He was kind, reassuring and carried out the full excision on my nose with great care. I honestly can’t thank him enough. A huge thank you as well to Rachel and all the lovely nurses who supported me throughout. The hospital was very clean and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. I’m really grateful for the care I received at Spire Hospital and couldn’t thank Dr Chakrabarty enough.

My experience with Spire has been very positive. My pre-operative assessment was with a lovely lady, Kiran Gupta, who was extremely personable and immediately put me at ease. She took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I felt comfortable and well-informed throughout the process. The care and professionalism I experienced gave me a lot of confidence ahead of my procedure, and I really appreciated the warm, reassuring approach

I recently saw Mr. K. Chakrabarty at Spire Hospital and had a very positive experience. There was a mix-up with my appointment, but he kindly came back to see me, which I really appreciated. He took his time, explained everything clearly, and gave me helpful advice regarding my condition. I also found the sister to be very helpful and guiding, which I really appreciated. I felt well looked after and confident in his expertise. Thank you again for your care.

Had a brilliant experience at Spire Manchester when I had my minor procedure on daycase. All the staff were friendly and especially my nurse Donna Murray. She was extremely caring and reassuring! Would definitely recommend this hospital!
