My husband recently had surgery at the Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital and we can't rate it highly enough (We'd give it 10 stars if we could!). The facilities are clean and smell great. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful. The food is delicious and the staff are amazing. Starting with the reception team (Heidi & Rachel... there were others too but I can't remember their names) the catering team (Colins & Gladys) the Day Unit team (Susan - always up for a little chat when I went down for a coffee, Salome - who was super thorough & efficient during the pre-assessment & put us at ease with her friendly manner & Fiona the phlebotomist (I think that's her name?) - my husband said no one has ever drawn blood as painlessly as her) the Surgical team (The Theater staff, Mr Stapleton & Dr Ruggier both extremely understanding, accommodating & reassuring. We felt like they took a real personal interest in my husband) Jewel in the Enhanced Care Unit, nothing was too much trouble and even laughed at his anesthetic induced jokes. The nursing team (Hannah, Maria, Catherine, Macha, Kaylee, Blanca - who worked wonders with his wound dressing & George) and last but certainly not least, Seanade in the Pharmacy, who took time out to have a chat and make sure he had everything he needed before leaving. Apologies for the names we've missed but everyone we came into contact with, no matter how brief, added to the quality of his stay. You all did Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital very proud!!
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the outstanding team at Parkside Hospital.
I was referred by my GP in Putney due to severe knee pain, and from the very beginning, the care I received was exceptional. I was naturally very anxious about having a knee injection, but the entire team made me feel calm, reassured, and supported throughout the whole process.
A special thank you to Mr Ashwin for his expertise, professionalism, and accurate diagnosis of my condition. His attention to detail and clear explanations gave me great confidence in my treatment.
I am also extremely grateful to Dr Rastogi and Jenly Freytes, who carried out my knee injection with such skill, kindness, and care. They created a relaxed and comfortable environment and stayed supportive every step of the way.
My sincere thanks also go to Maya Bodnaruk at Reception, who coordinated everything efficiently and always treated me with warmth, kindness, and professionalism.
The entire experience exceeded my expectations. Every member of the team made me feel valued, respected, and genuinely cared for. Thank you all for your dedication and excellent patient care.
Highly recommended.
I had a hernia operation yesterday and couldn’t fault the team in any way. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left all were efficient, kind and professional. The surgeon and anaesthetist did a great job and the nurse who took care of me throughout was fantastic. Even the food was okay. Highly recommend.
Extremely disappointed with Parkside Hospital.
My son's surgery has now been cancelled twice. The first time was due to staff shortages, and the second due to the heatwave. For a private hospital, this reflects very poor planning and resource management.
What was even worse was the communication. On the second occasion, we only found out the surgery had been cancelled when we arrived at the hospital. My child had been nil by mouth since the previous evening, meaning he went many hours without food or water during extremely hot weather for absolutely no reason. This was completely avoidable with a simple phone call.
There was little to no apology or empathy for the huge disruption caused to our family. We had to rearrange work, family commitments and prepare our child for surgery twice, only for it to be cancelled at the last minute.
If a heatwave is enough to stop planned surgery, what happens if the hot weather lasts for weeks? Will surgeries just continue to be cancelled? A hospital should have contingency plans in place.
The lack of communication, poor staffing, and absence of accountability have left us with very little confidence in this hospital. This is not the standard of care or organisation I would expect from a private healthcare provider.
I recently had surgery at Parkside Hospital and wanted to share what an incredibly positive experience I had.
From start to finish, the care I received was exceptional. Every member of staff I encountered was kind, caring, and genuinely compassionate. I was understandably nervous going in, but the team made me feel safe, listened to, and completely supported throughout the entire process.
A special thank you to Miss Tina Rashid, whose professionalism, skill, and reassuring manner gave me so much confidence at every stage of this procedure. The nursing staff and wider team were equally amazing - attentive, patient, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable.
This was a deeply important and life changing surgery for me, and I’m so grateful to have been in such capable and caring hands. I couldn’t have asked for better care.
Thank you again to everyone at Parkside Hospital.
Nurse Elizabeth (Assessment Clinic) was courteous, informative, efficient and reassuring.
I was provided with all the information I needed and was given ample opportunity to ask any questions on issues about which I might not have been clear. The results of the in-Clinic tests were given to me in a clear and reassuring manner.
Given the extreme heat of the day, my Clinic appointment was handled in as cool a manner as possible.
I had Physiotherapy with Joe and Hydrotherapy with Sam and Candice and I cannot recommend them enough. My knee recovered, (from a big bleed within the knee joint) strengthened and improved rapidly with their sessions and they gave me plenty of time exercises to continue after I had finished with them. I found the pricing more reasonable than I had expected and extremely good value. I don’t think my recovery would have been anything like as successful without them
And they were so lovely - all of them!
I attended this hospital on Saturday, 7 February 2026 for a cystoscopy and bladder injections under anaesthetic. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply distressing and fell far below acceptable standards of care, dignity, and professionalism.
I arrived at 10:00 am and my procedure did not conclude until around 3:30 pm. During this entire time, no one took my food order or provided a menu. I was offered only a small glass of water, despite the lengthy wait.
Before the procedure, I was approached about a pregnancy test. The staff member could not locate the correct paperwork and suggested simply writing that I was not pregnant instead of carrying out the test properly. I insisted on having the test. I was then asked to provide a urine sample using a plastic mug left in a bag by the cleaning staff, rather than a proper medical specimen container. This was degrading and completely unacceptable.
I was also not given proper compression stockings and instead received oversized anti-slip socks that did not fit.
During the process of being taken for surgery, staff questioned me about my nationality, how long I had lived in the UK, and commented that my accent was “still strong.” Another staff member asked intrusive questions about my workplace and made inappropriate comments about my life and occupation. After waking from anaesthesia, I was again questioned about my nationality. These remarks were irrelevant to my medical care and made me feel humiliated and singled out.
After returning to my room, I was not offered food or water. Later, I was told that only a sandwich could be provided because no kitchen orders had been taken earlier. I was discharged without adequate post-procedure care, without proper discharge documentation, and without assistance. I was left to remove my own cannula and left the hospital feeling unwell and unsupported.
I raised these concerns with the nurse in charge, who stated that she was not responsible for the kitchen and expressed surprise that no proper urine container had been provided.
Overall, this experience felt discriminatory, humiliating, and a serious breach of patient dignity and care standards. A patient’s nationality, accent, or occupation should never be the subject of clinical conversations. I left feeling like a second-class citizen.
I would strongly caution others and sincerely hope this hospital reviews its practices to ensure no other patient is treated this way.
