I spent 3 nights as an inpatient at London Bridge Hospital. I have nothing but the highest praise for everyone at the hospital, including my Consultant, the surgical team, the many nurses, and the catering staff. All were very professional and treated me with kindness and respect. Importantly I never felt I was being hurried.
For the first 48 hours I was in an inside room, with no view of the sky. It was dark and gloomy and rather depressing. For my final 24 hours I was moved to a much larger river view room, which was bright and cheerful, with a fabulous view of The Thames, London Bridge, St Paul's, and the Walkie-Talkie Building. Being in a light room with a view of the sky made me feel a lot better. However, on the final morning, when I was looking forward to having a shower before I went home, there was no hot water in my room.
The food was very good, better than many restaurant and pub meals, with a good selection of mostly healthy meals.
Overall my experience at LBH was very positive. My only negative experience was the dark, pokey room where I spent my first couple of days.
I visited under private insurance for a procedure and then follow up tests after, it has all gone to plan :-)
Location is good being close to London Bridge tube, as it was I needed to attend the hospital used by my chosen consultant rather than a hospital closer to home. There are a lot of things in the area with borough market and many restaurants nearby which can be handy if visiting. I added some pictures of things we saw on the day of a visit.
Staff are really friendly and professional. The facilities are clean and modern.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend London Bridge hospital to anyone.
I had open heart surgery at London Bridge Hospital in August (with the immensely talented Mr Dincer Aktuerk) and this was a follow up scan and consultation in January (I had other follow ups previously). All people working at HCA London Bridge are truly excellent - kind, professional and world class. Delighted to see Professor Macarthy again and get further reassurance on the success of my major surgery. Thank you also to the ultrasound team for helping me on the day. I feel so safe and well cared for by the whole team. I could not recommend London Bridge Hospital highly enough!!
I cannot thank enough the team at London Bridge Hospital, who looked after me. First and foremost Dr. Hugh Apthorp, who returned my mobility and returned me back to normal life by giving my hip a 'second life'. His professionalism is next to none and I am very happy to have met Dr. Apthorp and had him as my surgeon. I heard all the positive comments about his expertise and am thankful for his invaluable support with treating my hip. I can highly recommend Dr. Apthorp to anyone who considers hip replacement surgery, as I had a remarkable experience with Dr. Apthorp.
The care team were exceptional - always treated me with respect, dignity, and at the same time with a smile, friendly approach, explaining medical terms I did not know and advising on my health condition fostering smoother and effective recovery.
Special thanks to Laura Dowding who accommodated all my requests and arranged for special assistance given my circumstances. Laura explained the entire process, so that I knew what to expect during my hip replacement journey and in post-surgery recovery.
Bernard, Naomi, Kerry always kept me in good spirits, always friendly, smiling and calming. I knew I had their support 24/7
Megan's positivity and physiotherapy exercises helped me moving on day 1 with minimal pain and expedite my 'back to life' recovery roadmap.
Also, would like to thank Catering and Housekeeping teams for making sure my stay at the hospital was warm and nutritious.
Thank you All again, and keep up the great work!!!
I recently had thyroid surgery at London Bridge Hospital under the care of Mr Hubbard, and my experience was excellent from start to finish.
I travelled over 3.5 hours to see a particular consultant (Mr Hubbard) on the recommendation of a family member and I couldn’t be happier with the service that I received. His secretary scheduled a consultation and scan within a day of each other to allow me to get immediate results.
Mr Hubbard was amazing — he listened carefully to all of my concerns and gave me complete confidence throughout the process. I felt that as a patient my autonomy was supported, I was treated with dignity and was allowed to take ownership of my own health condition. I was very reassured and well cared for at every stage. He worked late to treat me, yet was in early the morning after to check how I was and to discharge me.
The hospital itself is beautiful, spotless, and very comfortable, with really nice rooms that made my stay much easier. I was especially impressed by how well thought through every aspect of my care was. Upon admission, I was visited by the consultant, anaesthetist, pharmacist, nurse, and even catering staff, which made me feel thoroughly supported and informed.
The food could be improved overall, especially some of the visitors menu. However, the raspberry crème brûlée and overnight oats were genuinely delicious!
Overall, I’m incredibly grateful for the care and professionalism I received and would highly recommend both Mr Hubbard and London Bridge Hospital.
I had a procedure done at London Bridge Hospital and could not speak more highly of the staff and conditions. All nurses were outstanding - friendly, caring, helpful, quick and the room was clean and tidy. My surgeon also did an outstanding job. I was discharged only after ensuring it is safe to do so with a detailed pack explaining care at home. I had a very pleasant stay which along with the outstanding care helped for a quicker recovery. Thank you!
Very good hospital. I have never been to a private hospital before, so this was my first ever experience, and I would 100000% recommend it to anyone and everyone who has the opportunity to go here.
The service is a 10/10 and vastly better than any NHS hospital I have ever visited. I saw Professor Lobo here, and he was incredibly good at his job—a great doctor who actually listens. He answered all of my questions and gave me a clear treatment protocol during our very first meeting. He didn't try to upsell me to make money; he was just genuinely a great doctor.
Dr Kaul is fantastic! A wonderful doctor, who truly listens to his patients. You can tell be has years of experience, his bedside manner is wonderful. Dr Kaul doesn't want to miss something and is super thorough, which I totally appreciate.
His Medical secretary, Sally is wonderful too!
The reception staff are a little aloof. Nothing that s little more training wouldn't fix.
The reception area is a little shabby , not what one expects from an expensive, private appointment, but maybe being used to the high standards in Colorado, has spoiled me?
I don't want to come off as entitled, I am just quantifying how I formed my opinion. In the last 10 years I have seen hundreds of Medical facilities, physicians, nurses and staff, I feel qualified to speak up.My reviews, are just that..mine.
But, having said that, that is the building manager/company issue: I do feel it should be addressed.
I want to reiterate DR KAUL is fabulous and I highly recommend him to those who can use a private Dr, who specializes in ANTIPHOSPHOLIPID/ HUGHES SYNDROME.
