Guzel Arts
I had my MRI scan today, and I was attended by Anselm. He was incredibly professional, kind, and reassuring throughout the entire process. He made sure I was comfortable at every stage and explained everything clearly, which really helped me feel at ease. I truly appreciated his kindness and care. Thank you for making what could have been a stressful experience so much easier .
I would like to say a huge thank you to Ruth for all her support over the past three months. After I fractured my wrist, she helped me every step of the way with my exercises and improving my wrist movement. Her patience, encouragement, and expertise gave me the confidence to keep going, even when it was difficult.
Now she is helping me with my frozen shoulder, and once again she has been amazing. Recovering has been a painful journey, but Ruth's kindness, care, and dedication have made it so much easier. She always listens, explains everything clearly, and motivates me to keep making progress.
I am truly grateful for everything Ruth has done for me. She is an outstanding physiotherapist, and I cannot thank her enough for helping me throughout my recovery. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs a caring, skilled, and supportive physiotherapist.
Parking gets busy and is tricky. Staff are all wonderful and deliver friendly good care, particularly at the Childrens emergency, Fracture clinic and x-ray. Childrens A&E a very friendly space, much more welcoming than local alternatives. Navigating around the hospital is a challenge at times, particularly having to check in at every new clinical area (apparently) which is not always clear so we wasted a lot of time on multiple visits across different aspects of the process
After not receiving the care I needed from my GP, I had to go through Heartlands A&E, the treatment room and then admitted onto ward. Although there was a lot of waiting for tests, beds, ward transfers etc, I received the best care throughout. All staff were professional yet kind. Everyone demonstrated expertise in their role and patients and visitors were treated well. The nurses worked very long shifts but were still smiling and attentive to their patients. The discharge process was a little confusing but overall my experience at Heartlands Hospital has restored my faith in the NHS. Thank you to all the staff that work so hard.
I had a very poor experience as an inpatient at this hospital. I repeatedly told the doctors and nurses that I was experiencing severe back pain where I have a cyst. A doctor came to see me once but never returned to follow up or provide any update.
I also reported chest pain, but I was told that because it wasn’t a new symptom, they weren’t going to do anything about it. This was especially worrying because the staff knew I have a heart condition.
Throughout my stay, many of the staff were rude and dismissive, which made an already difficult situation even more upsetting. I felt that my concerns were not taken seriously and that I did not receive the standard of care I should have.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hospital and would advise others to think carefully before choosing it.
I had an appointment with Dr Ali Fahmy at Heartlands Hospital on 01/05/2026 at 13:30, and I was very impressed with the care I received.
Dr Ali Fahmy was extremely professional, kind, and attentive. He took a lot of time to listen carefully to my symptoms and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the consultation. I never felt rushed, which is something I really appreciated.
He carried out a thorough examination and explained everything clearly in a way that was easy to understand. He also gave me helpful advice about managing my symptoms and what steps to take next.
Overall, I had a very positive experience and would highly recommend Dr Ali Fahmy to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and caring ENT specialist.
On 7th March I had an accident at Birmingham airport and was sent to Hartlands to have stitches in my leg. Although the A&E department was busy, the staff seemed to have a method to keep things moving. I as assessed and monitored and although it was quite a long wait the nurse who stitched and dressed my leg was absolutely fantastic. She took her time and constantly checked that I was ok. Thank you for everything and making it possible for me to continue on holiday the next day.
5 stars for Mona in A&E. Compassionate and understanding.
5 stars for Student nurse Dami working in Surgical Assessment Unit, absolute gem.
The doctors on today were awful. So slow. How can doctors be so unorganised. After we finally got seen by the “registrar”, senior doctor,
the meeting was for 5 minutes. They then took a long while for the discharge letter FOR NO REASON other than laziness and “can’t be bothered right now” attitude. These people are unapologetic and don’t care. Bedside manners or caring for patients isn’t a priority anymore. It’s just all red tape. Every man for themselves.
I am so disappointed in my experience today. We are just bums on seats. No real care or sense of urgency. Please doctors, ask yourself, who in their right mind would sit in A&E or any hospital if there was no real pain??!!
