I have been a patient of Dr. Andrew Peranteau’s at The Dermatology Specialists for a few years now, and I consider myself extremely lucky to have found him. Dr. P is always kind, considerate and extremely thorough.
Today I had my biggest procedure to date, a small basal cell carcinoma removed from my arm. Dr. Peranteau and his surgical assistant Nick were terrific in taking me through the procedure. They were compassionate, personable and attentive. The procedure was painless and I was relaxed, knowing I was in good hands throughout. Couldn’t be more pleased. This was a most pleasant medical visit!! Even after having to reschedule twice, the staff was very accommodating. I was warmly greeted & the intake process was quick & paper free. The waiting room was beautifully decorated as well as the sliding doors on the exam rooms. The clinical staff was so nice! They were very professional & thorough without being stiff or unapproachable. They addressed all my questions & concerns. Looking forward to us working together to keep my skin healthy 😊

I will absolutely never be returning to this practice. My recent visit to The Dermatology Specialists (Greenwich Village location) was a masterclass in disorganization, disrespect for a patient’s time, and a shocking lack of transparency.
The nightmare started before I even walked through the door. I placed over 9 separate phone calls to this office trying to speak with a manager about my upcoming visit. I was completely ignored and didn’t get a single callback until the day right before my appointment.
When I arrived for my visit, the disrespect for my time continued—I was left sitting in the waiting room for an agonizing 1.5 hours before finally being called to the back.
I explicitly booked my appointment under the expectation that I would be treated by Dr. Cary for my procedures. Instead, I was passed around with zero transparency:
1. An individual walked in and performed my first procedure. I naturally assumed this was the attending physician I booked. It was only AFTER the treatment was already completed that I was casually informed this person was actually a resident. Failing to disclose that a resident is treating you BEFORE doing it is a massive breach of trust and patient consent.
2. Next, Dr. Peranteau walked in to handle the remaining treatment. He didn't bother to introduce himself upon entering. Instead of focusing on my care, he immediately started complaining to me about administrative issues, explaining that because of how the procedures were scheduled, it would make their billing and insurance paperwork "difficult."
Let me be entirely clear: your internal billing paperwork is a back-office problem, not mine. It is wildly inappropriate to complain about insurance coding to a paying patient sitting in an exam room—especially one you just kept waiting for 90 minutes. When I voiced my frustration, Dr. Peranteau dismissively told me the procedure was "straightforward." It might be routine to him, but it is MY body and MY physical comfort on the line.
I chose this practice trusting I would get professional, coordinated care. Instead, I was ignored on the phone, ignored in the waiting room for an hour and a half, passed off to an undisclosed resident, and treated like an insurance headache by a dismissive doctor. Save your time, your money, and your sanity, and take your care needs literally anywhere else.
Andrew perateau is nice dermatologist but all of the 3 times I visited this office it was terrible first time made me come in for consultation deposit was $250 “supposed to go towards whatever your getting done that day since he had too many patients asked me to come back I came in following month for subcision and tca and microneedling I was charged $1000 in the receipt it did not specify what each procedure costed that day I waited 4 hours with numbing cream on because he was booked too many patients in one day I see this was a common thing for him since every time I’ve came in I’ve had to wait hours he excused himself offered me a discount next visit before this visit I also got booked an appt on a Saturday he was not working and came down there for no reason I come in for last time almost two months since my last visit I waited an hour never saw him he had his assistant take pictures came back saying he said it’s too soon to see results and I have to wait for next procedure so two months wasn’t long enough when it clearly says you can have something done in the next 3 weeks after procedure he just got over booked again and made me waste my time going there because he had no time to ends come see me in person he had them take pics while being right at the office with the procedure he did do I saw little to no doufenve in texture at all I would not recommend him at all or this office it’s a complete mess in there and be ready to wait 3-5 hours for a 10 minute appointment! Disgusting will never be coming back here
I had such a great experience with Stacey Danziger and her team. From the moment I walked in, everyone was friendly, professional, and made me feel completely at ease. Stacey took the time to really listen to my concerns, explain everything clearly, and come up with a treatment plan that felt thoughtful and personalized.
What stood out most was how thorough and attentive she was—she didn’t rush the appointment and made sure all my questions were answered. You can tell she genuinely cares about her patients and their results.
Highly recommend Stacey Danziger if you’re looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate dermatologist who makes you feel confident and well taken care of!
Had a great experience. Was in good hands. Very nice staff. Clear and direct information given so I understood everything that was going to happen and happening. Very clean. No wait time I was in and out even after getting a procedure done it was quick but I can tell the doctor and his assistant were being attentive and taking their time. Very gentle also.
I couldn’t be happier with my experience! Andrew Peranteau has the perfect combination of medical expertise and warm, attentive bedside manner. He truly listens to my concerns and takes time to understand my skin goals rather than rushing through appointments. Most importantly, his treatment plan actually worked. My acne has significantly improved, and I finally feel confident again.

the doctor and his assistants acted qualitatively and harmoniously. there was a translator into Ukrainian and it was easy for me to understand the medical staff. big thanks to the whole team that treated me. respect!
