The kindness each and every member of staff have shown us over the last number of months has been exceptional. Every staff member is so approachable. From the friendly greeting from the receptionists to the exceptional care from the nurses and Drs we could not be more grateful. Always on hand to awnser any questions. Communication between staff and patient is so efficient.We have spent a number of years on this journey and been to a number of clinics. The merrion have always been person centred in their care and we are extremely grateful for how far we have come with them to date….. here’s hoping that we will have a positive outcome in a few months. Merrion Fertility were recommended to us from another fertility clinic and we are so grateful to both clinics as we felt heard and supported.
Firstly, for anyone on this journey of TTC I wish you every success and I highly recommend Merrion Fertility Clinic.
We have attended the Merrion Fertility Clinic for the last number of years and our journey is now coming to an end following the birth of our daughter in 2024 and the expected arrival of our second baby later this year.
We will be sad to be saying goodbye, we feel extremely grateful to each and every person we have met along our journey over the last 4 years. The clinic has always felt like a safe space for me, from the moment you walk in the door you are greeted by Debbie who is just so kind and welcoming, she makes you feel at ease.
The past few months I have met several of the nurses while preparing for frozen embryo transfer who are always so helpful and kind. I will never forget each person and the part they have played on this journey.
Our journey wasn’t straight forward, I was diagnosed with endometriosis, had laparoscopy surgery to remove a cyst, cyst regrowth, unsuccessful round of IVF but thankfully on our second round we transferred and welcomed our daughter and stored a frozen embryo that we are now pregnant with. The clinic guided and supported us through every step, we always felt in safe hands and followed their guidance.
Dr Crosby is one of the kindest most caring people you will ever meet and we look forward to continuing our journey with him on this pregnancy.
The clinic will always hold a very special place in our lives, it's given us the family we always dreamt of and we couldn't adore our daughter anymore, she's brought so much joy to both our lives. We look forward to meeting our newest addition later this year.

Before I joined Merrion I had a previous medical history of fibroids, ovarian cyst and adhesion, simply meaning my case was challenging;
With Merrion I was given the right treatment.
Most importantly there was patient involvement I was in the centre of my treatments, my doctor listened to my suggestions and made necessary adjustments.
The Nurses were top tiers , provided support, care and encouragement. The ultrasounds were very thorough.
The phlebotomist were highly skilled and always ensured proper patient identification and safety.
Fast forward to 2026, I am pregnant. I cannot thank Merrion enough for their professionalism and customer care.
Avoid!! Don’t waste your time! Unfortunately, I chose this clinic as my first option in the HSE fertility programme and I absolutely regret it. I feel like I lost the only shot we had with this terrible place. The treatment here was impersonal and lacked clear communication and support. We never had a proper consultation with a doctor, only a brief online call to sign consent forms, during which the consultant said she only had 30 minutes and rushed through the process. I began medication and injections without fully understanding the protocol or why it had been chosen for me.
From the beginning, I felt unsure. I have friends my age with similar profiles who had success abroad using different protocols, and I couldn’t understand why a different approach wasn’t considered in my case. We were never told that our chances of success were low — we only learned this during the stimulation scans, when we were informed that no protocol would have changed the likely outcome. At that point, we were told to decide whether to continue or cancel.
That information should have been shared from the start. If we had been properly informed, we could have prepared ourselves and made more informed decisions. We were only offered a consultation after everything had already failed… too late to offer any meaningful support or guidance.
Throughout the process, I didn’t feel like an individual — just a number. The treatment felt managed, not cared for. I also understand that some clients come through the HSE and others as private patients, and perhaps there is a difference in approach. However, I found that difference unfair and difficult to accept.
I started IVF after a miscarriage, already in a vulnerable position. The doctors at this clinic told me I would never be likely to get more than5 eggs and pushed me for retrieval (which was a complete fail), I felt like they only wanted to close my case and didn’t explore any other options before making me go though a very unsuccessful retrieval. After this terrible experience, I started treatment abroad, and the difference in both care and results has been huge. At the new clinic, I retrieved 10 eggs, resulting in 5 embryos, of which 2 were PGT-normal. The approach was personalised, the communication was clear, and I finally felt supported throughout the process.
The only positive aspect at the original clinic was the nursing team. They were kind, informed, and supportive. But in the context of the overall experience, it wasn’t enough.
I’ve been left feeling hopeless, emotionally drained, and under significant stress and sadness.
The Merrion Fertility Clinic offered us excellent care during our time there. All the staff were incredibly kind, welcoming and knowledgeable. I felt so reassured and looked after with every visit and phone call. A big thanks especially to Dr Martyn and Nurse Caroline. Would highly recommend to anyone who needs this service.
Huge thank you to everyone at the Merrion Fertility Clinic for the incredible care we received. We had a long journey with multiple attempts over 2 years, and all of the staff treated us with so much empathy and kindness. We always felt like we were in the best hands and are delighted that we now have our little miracle baby Sadbh. Thank you!
The clinic lacks expertise and I'd recommend going for second opinion if you are using Merrion. We went to consult about fertility due to difficulties getting pregnancy. We were asked to do all kinds of tests, which I did and brought results. However, they never checked my progesterone and estrogen, which is crucial for fertility. After all the tests, which were not showing any issues, they said we had unexplained infertility. The only option they offered was IVF. We went elsewhere for a second opinion. And guess what, went to another clinic - Neofertility - that actually specializes in finding root causes of 'infertility' - and they were much more thorough in doing testing. They did thorough tests of prog/estrogen and found that it was an issue with low levels. They fixed it with medication in two months and we did not need any IVF as suggested by Merrion. We got pregnant very fast after progesterone was restored. Now we have a beautiful baby, conceived naturally. We are so glad we didn't go with Merrion and avoided this massive cost to our savings and health.
Finally, on top of lacking medical expertise, Merrion staff could never pronounce our names properly, just reflecting the lack of consideration and professionalism.
