Where do I even begin? I wanted to leave this review because everyone at Truly Dental has been so genuinely kind, caring and professional that they deserve to be recognised. I also know how many people read reviews when they’re nervous about going to the dentist, so if my experience helps even one person take that first step, it’ll be worth writing.
I first contacted Truly Dental back in February and spoke to Robin in the call centre. I was in the worst pain of my life and absolutely terrified of going to the dentist. She was so kind, patient and reassuring, and that first conversation gave me the confidence to eventually come back and begin my treatment.
I’d also like to thank Vincent at the Baggot Street clinic. Because of my dental anxiety, I cancelled appointments when I became too frightened to come in. He never once made me feel bad about it and was always understanding, patient and accommodating whenever I needed to rearrange.
When I finally came back for treatment, I met Dr. Aidha Puthenveetil, and I honestly can’t thank her enough. I had two teeth that needed to come out and was absolutely terrified. She listened to all of my worries, explained everything clearly, reassured me throughout and made me feel completely safe. I chose to have sedation because of my anxiety, and the whole procedure went so much better than I ever imagined.
What amazed me most was my recovery. Considering how much pain I had been in beforehand, I only needed one painkiller when I got home and haven’t needed another since. Everything has healed so smoothly.
When I had a concern during the healing process, the team at Dame Street got me in quickly to check everything over and immediately put my mind at ease.
At my two-week review, I met Dr. Sammy Magdeldin, who was equally fantastic. He took the time to listen to all of my fears before examining me, told me everything was looking really well, and reminded me that I’d already taken the hardest first step. That conversation gave me so much confidence to continue with the rest of my treatment.
I’d also like to thank all of the nurses and reception staff. Every single person I’ve met has been warm, welcoming and genuinely caring. On a lighter note, every time I visited, The Office US was playing on the TV. It might sound like a small thing, but it’s my comfort show, and it genuinely helped me relax while I was feeling anxious.
This is only the beginning of my treatment. I still have fillings, more extractions and, hopefully one day, implants. If finances allow, I’d love to continue all of my treatment with Truly Dental because I honestly wouldn’t want to go anywhere else. For the first time in my life, I’m looking forward to improving my smile instead of feeling terrified of the dentist.
If you’re reading this because you’re scared of going to the dentist, please let this be the sign you need to book that appointment. I’ve only ever been treated with kindness, patience and genuine compassion by everyone I’ve met at Truly Dental.
Thank you to Dr. Aidha Puthenveetil, Dr. Sammy Magdeldin, Robin, Vincent and everyone at Truly Dental Baggot Street and Dame Street. You’ve not only got me out of the worst pain of my life, you’ve completely changed how I feel about going to the dentist, and I’ll always be grateful for that 🫶🏻.
Extremely disappointing experience. I spent a significant amount of money on a dental treatment (root canal and Onlay) here, only for it to fracture and fall out shortly after. When I contacted them, I was shocked to be told that they offer absolutely zero warranty for treatments older than 6 months. For the prices they charge, this lack of accountability and patient care is completely unacceptable.
Unfortunately, the poor experience didn't stop there. Throughout my visits, I witnessed a shocking lack of care and professionalism. Dr. Sarah was incredibly careless with the disinfection liquid during a procedure and completely ruined my sweater. During another appointment at Truly Dental Dame Street, Dr. Ksania actually dropped the dental piece she was about to fit in my mouth onto the floor and then scrambled to find it. The overall clumsiness and lack of basic hygiene protocols were appalling.
I will never return to this practice. I strongly advise anyone looking for quality dental work and a clinic that actually stands behind their treatments to look elsewhere. If you can, Truly avoid at all costs.
Dentistry side of the house - Brilliant - Dr. Ian is very professional / qualified dentist.
Where truly let me down was the administration / billing side of the operation (the easiest part you’d imagine?…)
In summary;
When I got an extraction in 2026, the total amount should’ve been €300 (no problem) - even though it’s probably on the expensive end but I got the appointment within a day. So fair enough, and I was in agony so I would’ve paid anything to be honest.
I just noticed after the total they charged me was €380…? The invoice I was issued said €300. What followed was 3 calls, about 15 emails back and forward.
The receptionist very secretly and covertly charged me for a missed appointment fee last year (which I had no idea about) & for an appointment covered under PRSI, without saying a word to me, pretty disgraceful actually. So essentially Truly got to put their hands in the cookie jar twice (I.e. they charged me and the department of social protection) - (not a lawyer) but I’d hazard a layperson guess is illegal. When I actually asked a staff member why they didn’t charge my PRSI the person on the phone told me some people don’t like to use their PRSI? I don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want to use PRSI (I.e. it costs them nothing / costs the patient nothing) when in fact the person either was either being deliberately deceitful or he was ignorant of the fact it was covered/claimed under my PRSI. Either scenario is pretty unacceptable. I think truly should have some process of auditing / reconciling what patients are charged vs PRSI claims so “mistakes” don’t happen.
Charges should be upfront (I.e. extraction isn’t inclusive of the X-ray, appointment etc…).
I understand mistakes happen, but it required a real concerted effort over circa two weeks on my part to recover any amount of money I was entitled? I even went so far as to involve my bank (I.e. chargeback) when I wasn’t getting anywhere. To which I was told my upcoming appointment was being cancelled in response (I.e. how dare you issue a chargeback).
Also, PRSI does cover one oral examination per year, and there is no distinction made by the DSP regarding “emergency” appointments. In reality, most dentists would not turn someone away in pain regardless of appointment type. So I do find it questionable to label a visit as “emergency” in a way that excludes PRSI, especially when standard appointments were available. The answer I got to this was “emergency appointments are inclusive of treatment on the same day”. Last time I was in truly the dentist was prepared to do a filling then and there even though it was a standard appointment type. So that seems a bit contradictory. Plus unnecessarily money sucking. Also, given the track record I’ll be confirming with DPS that no claims were made!
Long story short - it was sorted out in the end to my satisfaction. However, it took me quite a time to sort out, and although it wasn’t a lot of money I felt it was very unfair and needed addressing. I was in hospital at the time and I was in no mood to be dealing with this.
Moral of the story - a bit more transparency / efficiency / training for staff on billing side, then you might not infuriate your patients (I.e. me) who are delighted with the dental care provided.

Really professional and friendly service! Dr. Ksenija and the whole team have been absolutely amazing, especially with me being quite an anxious patient and a complex situation. I really appreciated how quickly I was able to get both an appointment and a follow-up visit, as well as the clear and well-thought-out treatment plan provided. I feel very optimistic and in great hands!
The opening hours are also very convenient for anyone working standard office hours. Highly recommended!

I don’t normally leave reviews, but after the experience I’ve had with Dr. Barry at Truly Dental, I felt I had to share one.
I recently had a significant amount of dental work completed, and I couldn’t have asked for a more positive experience. Dr. Barry was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and reassuring throughout the entire process. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly, answered every question I had, and made sure I was comfortable at every stage of treatment.
I’m absolutely delighted with the results and genuinely feel it’s some of the best money I’ve ever spent. A huge thank you to Dr. Barry and everyone at Truly Dental for their outstanding care and support. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
I had a great experience at this clinic. I came in for an emergency extraction of my wisdom tooth and everything went very smoothly.
Dr. Mohammad Zadeh completely changed my perspective on dentists. I’ve always been very afraid of dental visits, but his calm and professional approach made me feel comfortable and safe from the very beginning. The procedure was completely painless.
The whole dental team was incredibly kind, supportive, and reassuring throughout the visit.

I had a great experience. Everything went well, and the staff were very helpful. After my treatment, I experienced some discomfort, and they arranged an appointment for me the very next morning. The dentist was amazing—he checked the problem and fixed it straight away. He was kind, professional, and reassuring, and told me to come back if I had any further issues. Excellent service and care. Highly recommended.
