I had a fantastic experience at Maypole Dental Surgery. It truly is one of the best dental practices I’ve visited. The staff were welcoming, professional, and genuinely caring from the moment I walked in. I went in with a dental problem that had been bothering me for a while, and they handled everything quickly and confidently. The hygienists were especially impressive—thorough, gentle, and really knowledgeable. They explained everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable throughout the appointment. I couldn’t be happier with the service I received. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a reliable, friendly, and skilled dental practice!

All the praises Dr Dhillon is getting on this site is well deserved, I have been on this earth for 62 years and during this time I have had some good experiences but mainly terrifying experience with dentists that has made me terrified of dental appointments but Dr Dhillon is different, he is so welcoming, kind, funny and above all a master dentist, I literally felt no pain during an extraction, first time ever, I didn't even realise he took the tooth out in literally seconds, he is a genius, I only wished I found him sooner, the nurses are great too. Birmingham is lucky to have u guys .

After having been coming here for years, I've never had a problem. Today, I was 5 minutes late for my hygienist appointment. I arrived and was waiting whilst reception staff (one out of 2) were on a phonecall. I was ignored by the other one. My husband rang beforehand to say I would be five minutes late due to road closures and travelling from Erdington. I was the told I had missed my appointment and couldn't be fitted in that day at all. (It was 11.45am). I've been there before when they've run over for longer than 5 minutes and I've never batted an eyelid, also I still arrived within my time slot. I've never been late or missed an appointment before. Think it's time to find another dentist.

I have never written a review in my life, but today i felt it was important to raise a genuine concern regarding that miserable looking receptionist Cindy. It is not the first time i have witnessed this behaviour, i have been at this dental practice for 17 years. I have even brought over my wife and her family to this practice. During my visit, her manner was abrupt, unwelcoming, and seriously lacking basic customer service, which created an uncomfortable environment for patients. She also appears to act as though she owns or manages the practice, giving instructions and behaving in a way that felt authorative and dismissive. I am aware she is not the practice manager, and therefore she should not present herself as one when dealing with patients. For the past 17 years i have been attending, she has remained just as a receptionist. Nothing more. Need i have to remind everyone, a front desk role in healthcare setting especially one involving children requires warmth, professionalism, and approachability. Unfortunately this was not met. In contrast, in the past i have been reassured by younger ladies at the reception who have been polite and professional, this clearly highlights a difference in attitude. I strongly feel this role should be reviewed by management, as front desk is first point of contact and sets the tone for the entire patient experience. It would also be helpful to have a clear email address for the practice manager so genuine concerns can be raised directly and appropriately. On a positive note, the dentists were excellent, kind, patient and they put me and my daughter at ease. Their care as faultless, which makes the front desk experience particularly disappointing. I would 100% recommend this practice because of the dentists, just be aware of the receptionist, be ready to endure bad attitude.

I will never step foot in that dental practice again... Zero tolerance when it comes to treating people with respect, courtesy, fairly etc, should be expected not only from patients but staff also...staff should not provoke discontent or create offence..and hide behind a behaviour & conduct policy that protects them and leaves a patient open to be labelled and profiled as the 'the one wrong'. To simply request a reschuled appointment due to unfortunate unforeseen and tragic circumstances is enough to be spoken to like a child needing to be disciplined and warned (threatened, shamed and embarrassed) by the ominous figure many other victims on here have sighted in their negative review of one particular nasty excuse for a human being. *Keep in mind, there is absolutely no mechanism or means in place for a patient sadly needing to rechedule like I in my case a 2.15pm appointment to contact the surgery from Friday 4.30pmto Monday at 8.30am when if finally becomes possible to make contact again after some 2½ days of complete closure. Where's the appreciation of this???... Go figure!!! I talk of that aged, hard faced, portly woman behind the desk called SINdy who it didn't take long to see brings the whole practice into disrepute, attracts ALOT of criticism for being a blight on good well intentioned and decent patients lives; atleast those who she sees fit to discriminate against, target for a reprimand and bully or simply chooses to exercise her misplaced sence of power and authority over... Don't be fooled by the black healthcare attire she wears that suggests a trained and skilled practioner... NO, in her cas it's just for ego and show and to create a sense of legitimacy and authority. She is admin that's all! SHE ... (AND MANY MANY OTHER REVIEWS HAVE SUBSTANTUATED THIS) IS A: Rude, arrogant, overzealous, patronising, self important human being... and all these traits become event AFTER she initiates and provokes I'll feeling, offence and upset. And historically her MO can be seen time and time again. PLEASE READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS... THEY ARE LEGITIMATE!!! Really.. Who does she think she is? A truly overflated vitriolic power driven bully whose veiled and passive and sarcastic behaviour is experienced if she takes aim. Ironically, the Indian receptionist, Indian young dentist (forgive I don't remember their names) and the Sikh owner Onkar Dhillon and his co-work caucasian female colleague presented as approachable, friendly and accommodating. But this one woman clearly is toxic and, whereas there is no such pattern of horrendous behaviour at the nearby similar named other dental practice a cross from Sainsbury's car park So it begs the question, why allow the same one staff member on the lowest run of the ladder to be allowed to insult and trigger unnecessary confrontations or criticism or negative reviews of the otherwise seemingly ok dental practice? 🚫 Zero Stars 🚫 Do not recommend 🚫 Will never step foot back in the place

I've been using this surgery for years... no complaints, if I need an appointment they manage to see me. Treatment plans and prices are always explained before anything is done. Always helpful, Cindy on reception especially.

I called on Friday to see if they were taking on new nhs patients. They made an appointment for my daughter and myself for the next Monday. My daughter was extremely anxious and the dentist put her at ease straight away. He explained before she sat in the chair that he wouldn’t be doing any work today it was just a new patient checkup. Unfortunately her baby teeth aren’t falling out, yet her adult teeth have come through so he told her she would need to back in for some extractions. He explained the whole procedure to her, how they would numb the area first so she wouldn’t feel any pain just a bit of tugging.. He even suggested she brought in her EarPods so she could listen to her music as a distraction during her appointment. I myself went back today to see the hygienist who had a very calming nature, I got myself worked up due to how sensitive my gums currently are and she used some numbing gel before starting the deep clean. She checked on me constantly, asking if I was okay, if I needed a break and to remember to breathe .she also gave me some great recommendations for products I could purchase from most supermarkets or chemists. I’m so glad I managed to get us both signed up to this practice. Highly recommend
