I wanted to wait to write a review till I was a year post op. Today is my 1 year anniversary since the surgery. I would like to thank everyone at Sage Bariatric, but a special thank you to Dr. Gonzalez. Thank you for helping me get my life back! Starting at 287 pounds, I am now 136 pounds. My overall experience was amazing, and I highly recommend Dr. Gonzalez. He is very informative and will give you the best recommendations for your body. If you’re thinking about weight loss surgery, this is your sign to do it!
I personally have had the best experience with Sage Bariatric. Dr.Pilcher is the best surgeon ever! Very professional and extremely helpful in keeping me updated and on track. Dr.Golden also sees me with my follow ups and is great as well. I highly recommend them to anyone considering weight loss ☺️. I lost over 130 pounds so pleased..
Dr. Allen Alvarez is truly one of the most compassionate and dedicated physicians I have ever encountered. His extensive knowledge and experience are evident, but what truly sets him apart is the genuine care and kindness he shows his patients. He takes the time to listen, never makes you feel rushed, and treats you with dignity and respect during some of the most difficult moments of your life.
In a world where quality healthcare can often feel impersonal, Dr. Alvarez reminds you what it means to have a doctor who truly cares. His professionalism, empathy, and commitment to helping others make him not only an exceptional physician, but also an extraordinary human being. I am deeply grateful for the care and support he has provided.
I recently joined this office, and I have been impressed by the professionalism and courtesy shown by the entire staff. I would like to express my sincere appreciation for Andrea, our nutritionist. From the beginning, she has provided exceptional guidance and support. Although I initially believed I understood what I needed to do, Andrea helped me realize there was much more to learn. Her patience, compassion, and dedication have been invaluable throughout this process. She is an outstanding resource, and I am truly grateful for the care and expertise she has shared with me. I only wish I could continue working with her even after my surgery.
My experience with the Sage was life-changing!! Dr. Cavazos helped me regain my life back!! The staff are incredible and very supportive! I’m a year post op! I’m 100 pounds down. My quality of like has improved 1000% and I’m off all Rx meds!
Dr. Pilcher is an incredible surgeon, and I will always be grateful for the life-changing care I received from him. That is what makes writing this review so difficult.
Unfortunately, my experience with parts of the office staff has repeatedly left me feeling dismissed, embarrassed, and treated like an inconvenience rather than a patient.
One example was when I asked for an emailed appointment reminder after my appointment had to be rescheduled. I explained that I needed something I could share with my manager and refer back to because the only reminders I had ever been receiving were the automatic texts sent the day before the appointment, which was not enough notice for me. I was told I would receive a text reminder, but no additional reminder was ever sent. When I called back to follow up, I again felt brushed off. Asking for written confirmation of an appointment ahead of time did not feel unreasonable, yet I was treated as though I was causing a problem simply for asking.
There were multiple other interactions over time that also felt unnecessarily rude or dismissive. To be fair, there were staff members who were kind and professional, especially Jennifer, who showed me empathy and compassion during a difficult moment.
What ultimately broke my heart was what happened today. I arrived for my 6-month follow-up appointment, but left before even seeing Dr. Pilcher because I felt so humiliated by the interaction at the front office that I could not stay. I still do not even know whether my labs were okay.
No patient should feel embarrassed or stripped of their dignity while seeking medical care.
I truly hope this is not the experience other patients have, because this surgery and the medical care itself can genuinely change someone’s life. Dr. Pilcher deserves recognition for the incredible work he does. I just sincerely wish the patient experience with parts of the office staff reflected that same level of care and humanity.
I started with Sage about 2 years ago. I have been so happy with their service from day one. The staff was always very attentive to what I needed, when I needed it. The MA's and front desk always kind on each call backs and follow appts. My Doctor was Dr. H. Corrado up until just a week ago. So for the full 2 years I had her help in every way with my weight loss process. Let me say, my journey was without surgery but Sage gave me every thing I needed to get to where I wanted my goal to be. My doctor gave me advice on healtier foods, exercise scheduling, blood work done and always encouragement during this whole journey. I am so thankful for Sage. And my doctor's pleasant bedside manner along with just kindness and understanding at every visit and phone call helped tremendously. I can't say enough about Sage. I went to alot of places and did alot of diets on my own. Sage got me right!!! So happy and thankful for Sage help.
I saw Dr cavazos here at sage bariatric for a follow up from an ER visit. He very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and explained what needed to be done to hopefully stop any further ER visits for this problem. He did the necessary surgery and I had no complications or complaints. On my follow up He said everything he repaired and look at, looked good so hopefully no more issues
