Today was my first week post op appointment after cataract surgery on my left eye. To say it has been life-changing would be an understatement. Dr. Petelin was my second opinion. I am very pleased with the results and can't wait for my second surgery for my right eye. The practice is busy but all of the staff is amazing. Check in is a breeze and yes, you may have to wait It's worth it! It can be frustrating to call and not be able to reach a live human to speak to if you have questions but they will respond to your texts with a call, text or email. If you are on the fence about cataract surgery do your homework and select a high volume surgeon like Dr. Petelin.
This is an addendum to my review after my second eye surgery and I can't say anything more. Other than the follow up appointments were very conveniently scheduled at Petelin Vision in Peoria and the staff there were just as amazing and welcoming as they were in Scottsdale. I was concerned that my vision wasn't as good on my right eye a day after surgery as it was on my on my left but at two weeks I am at 20/20 and wearing glasses with no prescription other than transition with blue light and antireflective lenses for protection from sunlight and screens. Plus after a lifetime of wearing glasses, I feel naked without them. It's nice to have the "clouds" gone and my sight restored. Thank you Petelin Vision!
I called Petelin Vision to set up an appointment due to my vision concerns. I talked to Natalie (who works at their downtown office.) Natalie was very kind, personable and polite. She listened to me and never interrupted and responded with obvious concern and assured me that she would do her best to book the appointment as soon as possible. She advised me that It may take a few minutes to search their other locations. She didn’t just put me on an indefinite “please hold” (all too common these days.) Natalie successfully found a date and time for my appointment. Great customer service and care is becoming more of a rarity these days. Thanks Natalie!
Note to all: Take the time to compliment, when warranted, an employee/worker. It’s super easy to complain about employees; it takes a little bit of time to compliment them and advise their supervisor, if possible, for a good job done. Kindness can be contagious.
Dr. Zimmerman was outstanding! A year and a half after lens replacement I started experiencing a film over my eye. I was told that this may happen but it was concerning. I quickly got an appointment to check the eye and two days later I was scheduled with Dr. Zimmerman. He confidently explained what needed to be done and did a 2 minute laser procedure. Following he confirmed it went perfectly and stated that I will have clear sight in 10-15 minutes. Lastly, he said that I won’t ever have this issue on this eye. Very happy!
When I first visited Petelin Vision I was wracked with nerves and didn’t know what to expect. I have a complex physical ailment so I’m highly sensitive and fragile. Right away I was met with such warmth, love, and compassion from Kaylee, Brissa, Elicia, and Dr. Rebecca Firouzi. They treated me like family and helped me to feel comfortable and calm. They’re so beautiful inside and out!
Dr. Firouzi is a one of a kind ophthalmologist! She’s very kind, knowledgeable, and doesn’t see patients as a profit but makes them feel seen and heard.
Kaylee runs the front office and she’s such an engaging and darling hostess! She’s very full of joy and will diminish any anxiety and discomfort.
Bri is such a love bug and was very compassionate about my condition. Elicia provided a patient and loving environment as I went through my eye testing.

Dr. Petelin and his entire staff are exceptional! You get wonderful care from the minute you enter the office. Everybody is friendly and helpful. They answer your questions and strive for excellence. They succeed! I highly recommend Petelin Vision for your eye care. I had cataract surgery and LASIK and both went perfectly without any issues.
Dr Petelin and his Staff are wonderful. I had a previous cateract surgery from someone else and my vision never seemed correct. After 4 years of dealing with a poor outcome from the 1st surgery, I found Dr. Petelin. He explained the process that he was going to perform. I've already had my old lens taken out and the replacement put in. Vision is already so much better. One more procedure to go. I can't tell you how happy I am. Thank you.
At age 47 I found out I have cataracts. After dealing with a lot of uneasiness I finally found Dr. Petelin. He and his staff are all extremely knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, competent, and answered all of my questions. I finally feel ready and good about having surgery next month.
There are much better Eye Dr's in the valley. This one is below average. Go elsewhere. I called to reschedule my appointment with Dr. Fhouzi due to a cyst on my eye. Telephone operator told me I had to go to the downtown location to get the cyst removed. The girl on the telephone made a medical diagnosis over the phone which was not only inappropriate but also a medical violation. She should've scheduled me with Dr. Fhouzi at my request and had my Dr make the medical diagnosis not herself.
