I was showering with hot water and The steam from the shower triggered a fire alarm.
Shelter staff called 911 and claimed I was 'irrational' to force a psychiatric evaluation. I am not a danger to myself or others. I am fully oriented. I just started a new job with the Sanitation Department and I need to be discharged so I can report for my shift.

As i was being interviewed at Psychiatric triage I could not stop looking at the nurses cataracts.
We expect medical professionals to be paragons of health. When they show signs of physical decline, it can feel jarring or even hypocritical. It can shake our trust, making us think, "If you can't take care of yourself, how can you take care of me?
As she walked back and forth i noticed Genu Varum. I am hopeful with the advancements in technology, we the new scientists and researchers can help people who have given so much.
She looked tired, I don’t blame her for being condescending. I tried to make her job as easy as possible by referring her to mychart. But that just seemed to annoy her.
By now I have already memorized the Psych questionnaire. Are you in any pain? are you having thoughts of hurting your self or others.
The ordeal lasted 5 hours. I was asked i was doing any drugs and I said no and that i was willing to take a Toxicology. One of the nurses said that the blood test could be wrong?? LOL LOL Then she said I could be paranoid? detained in a Psych ward I chose the path of least resistance.
Im going to file a Foil request anyway because the whole ordeal was funny and i think it would be a good skit.
The only thing that can Save New Yorkers is AGI. More Tech, transcription, revising protocols.
3 Patients soiled themselves while I was there, no one thought to call a Janitor. There was one catatonic by a wall completely covered in soot. I wondered if the risk for cross contamination was greater than allowing patients to keep their shoes on.

Woodhull Medical Center truly has something special in this midwife. She is hands down the best midwife I have ever encountered in my life. This woman is beyond capable — I honestly feel like she could deliver every baby in the entire hospital by herself. I wish there were 500 of her.
My first encounter with her felt almost like a mystical experience. She brought such peace, confidence, and skill into the room. Everything went smoothly for both mom and baby, and her presence made all the difference.
People may have their opinions about the hospital, but this midwife is the absolute best thing about Woodhull. I trust her deeply, appreciate her wholeheartedly, and I already know that when it’s time for my next child, she will be my provider again.
I went today as a dental emergency patient to ER- I had a very pleasant experience. As someone who worked in the medical field- and is a very good judge of people’s character - all personnel, all front desks, all nurses, and doctors were more than pleasant- I did not feel any discomfort at any point. They were really diligently performing their work, and they really cared-
As a Parent- I visited many hospitals, but was never treated with a such a respect and care!
I hope this was being read by the Management, Doctors, Nurses and all of the Employees. The Security that also made an extra step to show me the directions.
I truly so far had one of the best hospital’s visits, ever! The Management must be having a great Employees training, probably sensitivity and emphasizing- kindness that we miss in this World- especially as patients- we look up to you!

Been going at Woodhul, over 14yrs. A lot of , and most of the services are Satisfactory. Once awhile few bad experiences. Just recently, (after visiting 4 ED clinics, for pain in chest & heart related issues), @ED visits gave the same, Discharge and Must follow up with Cardiology. When I received the appointment, I wasn't satisfied with the answers they gave me (& that was like, my last resort.. unless I got a 2nd-opinion), and I wasn't even seen by the Doctor until I persisted. Overall good+ but few, mishaps. Thank you for your time, and services.
Everyone was very professional, respectful, caring, and above all very attentive to what was needed at the time. Adding to the above facility, rooms, and restrooms are very clean
I recommend this place to family members and friends. Also I want to give thanks to all surgeons, physicians, nursing staff, and other staff members for being helpful, attentive, and explained the matters well detailed to be understood. Our experience at Woodhull Hospital was of excellence.
I was honestly surprised by some of these reviews because my experience was the complete opposite. Overall, I had really quick, efficient, and positive care.
I went to the ER with a hairline wrist fracture and was seen almost immediately. They did X-rays, put me in a splint, and set me up with a specialist a few days later. At that appointment, I was told I could either get surgery or be in a cast for three months, and they were able to schedule my surgery just two days later.
Everyone, nurses and doctor, made me feel really comfortable and taken care of the whole time.
My only complaint is the post
op instructions. I felt like I didn’t get enough guidance on how to care for my incision. I was told I could take the dressing off after two days and wash it with soap and water, but it was still bleeding a little and I didn’t feel great leaving it uncovered, so I cleaned it with saline and put gauze back on. I did call, though, and the nurse reassured me that everything sounded normal, which helped.
Overall, a really positive experience for me.
Our recent experience at this hospital began during a very emotional time — my mother had fallen and was taken in for trauma evaluation. Initially, things felt a little rocky for me because I was overwhelmed and unable to be by her side during the trauma phase. As a daughter, that was incredibly difficult. However, once that was addressed, everything shifted in the most reassuring way.
The patient care was truly amazing. We never waited more than 20–30 minutes in any phase before someone checked on us. There was constant communication, and every step was explained clearly and patiently. The doctors used simple, understandable language so my mother fully understood what was happening and what her options were. They also provided next-level options for care, which gave us confidence and peace of mind.
We had the absolute pleasure of working with Physician Assistant Mr. Hercules, and he was incredible — compassionate, thorough, and attentive. He made my mother feel safe and heard.
It’s clear that the administrator of this hospital is doing an outstanding job. Her leadership shines through the entire team. Despite the stressful circumstances, we felt supported, informed, and cared for every step of the way.
Thank you for turning a frightening situation into one filled with professionalism and compassion.
I take my sister to physical therapy, and the experience has been excellent. The staff is very professional, courteous, and attentive. They take the time to ensure she is comfortable and provide quality care at every visit. I truly appreciate their dedication and would highly recommend this facility to others.
