The women's health of this hospital is excellent. From the moment of pregnancy confirmation to the moment of delivery, everything was amazing, prompt, tactful and caring. So was the delivery day in December 2025. The hospital supports the natural delivery and does not offer unnecessary medical interventions.
During pregnancy, I needed additional consultations with highly specialized doctors, both for me and for the baby - the hospital team helped me with this very well.
Special thanks to my doctors Lisa Yanowitz, Cynthia Rodriguez and the entire team of obstetricians. The baby and I also continue to be monitored in pediatrics here.
This place is good for serving as a one stop shop for lots of different medical services. The police officers who search you are very nice.
Unfortunately the receptionist in the OPD Building 7 South (this is the 7th floor which isn’t obvious when you’re trying to find your doctor in the huge maze of the building) is the most unprofessional individual I’ve encountered in my entire life. No exaggeration.
She seemed to be respectful to the Spanish speaking clientele but spoke to me as if she were talking to a dog. Barked orders at me as if she were a police officer making an arrest. When I finally told her she didn’t need to be so rude and that I was only following the online instructions (which were to simply scan the QR code for your appointment), she made me go through the whole procedure again, and told me off like she was disciplining a child. She ordered me to stand before her and wanted to know why I had sat down (even though everyone else was seated).
I was on the verge of tears by the time I saw the doctor. And my blood pressure and heart rate were unusually elevated due to that encounter. Luckily the doctor and nurse were wonderful. But I’d be hesitant to go through this again.
There’s just no reason to have a bully in the receptionist role.

Extremely professional and incredibly kind. I am deeply grateful to the entire hospital staff. From the very beginning, we received exceptional care, compassion, and respect.
Every member of the team demonstrated a strong commitment to the well-being of both patients and their families, providing support, comfort, and reassurance throughout the entire process. Their professionalism, dedication, and genuine kindness made a tremendous difference for us.

I was recently admitted to Metropolitan Hospital and wanted to express my gratitude to the care I received. The doctors, nurses, and support staff were professional, attentive, and kind throughout my stay. Dr. Kannan took the time to explain my treatment clearly, and the nursing team checked on me regularly and made sure I am comfortable. The facility was clean and organized. Thanks to Miguel for maintaining my room cleaned. I felt safe and well cared for during a difficult time. Thank you everyone at Metropolitan Hospital for your dedication.

Never had any bad complain. It’s very Clean . They welcome you as soon as you come in and help you to where you need to go for you appointment at Clinic. I been a patient since 1990 .
I Came in as a new patient. It was my first visit So I’m giving it a chance. I felt like the Dr. didn’t really focus on me being there. My vitals were taken but my ears were not checked, My Heart was not listened to. I was not examined at all. The Dr focused on my history which he input into his system. I am hoping my next visit is better.

If you ever wondered what not to expect from a hospital social work department, allow me to introduce my experience with “Marjorie” at Metropolitan Hospital Center.
Let’s start with the voicemail an impressive mix of chomping noises, “um” marathons, and just enough information to make you question if you dialed the right number. But don’t worry, it somehow gets better when you call back.
No greeting. No “thank you for calling.” No “Metropolitan Hospital Social Work Department.” Just a confident, minimalist“Social Work .”
Naturally, I had to ask if this was Marjorie, because apparently she is the entire department now. She confirmed with a simple “yes,” which really set the tone efficient, if not wildly underwhelming.
For someone in social work, where communication is kind of the whole thing, the lack of basic phone etiquette was… memorable. If leaving a voicemail or answering a phone feels like an unbearable burden, I can only imagine how uplifting the client experience must be.
She called regarding Access-A-Ride, which I don’t need it was a mix up but honestly, she sounded like the paperwork had already defeated her before the conversation even started.
All in all, if you enjoy guessing games, awkward silences, and being greeted like you interrupted someone’s nap, you’re in great hands.
Otherwise… maybe hope you get someone else.
I initially hesitated to revisit this issue, but it has weighed on me for some time now. I gave birth to my son at Metropolitan Hospital in 2022, and as a first-time mother, my experience was nothing short of horrific. The issues began with Dr. Maria Pollack, who performed my C-section. She began the incision in the completely wrong location; rather than starting below the bikini line, she cut into the far upper right side of my abdomen. The Chief of C-sections, Dr. Jonathan Mays, had to stop her mid-procedure to correct her. Despite the gravity of this mistake, the staff brushed it off, and I am now left with a permanent, physical scar due to a doctor’s carelessness. Furthermore, Dr. Pollack was extremely rough during cervical exams and remained fixated on a natural birth for three days, despite my insistence that a C-section would be necessary. I am writing this so that other expectant mothers know which providers to avoid.
The trauma continued once my son was admitted to the NICU. At birth, he weighed 4 pounds and 12.4 ounces. On one occasion, I found him sleeping face-down because a nurse had placed him in that dangerous position (an incident I reported to the staff immediately). On another visit, there was blood everywhere coming from his foot due to needle pricks. I also discovered a deep cut on his chin that no one could explain, though I noticed many of the NICU nurses had long nails. My son actually left the NICU weighing less than he did at birth. However, once I brought him home, I was able to get him to a healthy weight within just three days; by his 10-day appointment, he weighed 6 pounds.
The lack of professionalism extended to the administrative and nursing staff as well. When I called to schedule his 10-day follow-up, the woman on the phone was incredibly rude. When I expressed my discomfort with returning to Metropolitan Hospital, she dismissively told me he was "too small" and "needed to be seen there," completely unaware that he had already gained significant weight at home. During my actual appointment, which was about a few weeks after having my son, the doctor who did my exam randomly told me my blood pressure was high and suggested I "eat less salty food." In reality, I do not eat salty foods; my blood pressure was high simply because I was forced to return to a facility where I felt unsafe and disrespected. To top it off, a nurse yelled at my husband in the waiting room, criticizing the way he was feeding our son. Ironically, we were using a specific method taught to us by a different nurse within that same hospital to help with his reflux. While everyone’s experience is different, I feel that my treatment was racially motivated. The negative experiences at Metropolitan Hospital vastly outweigh the few good doctors and nurses there, and I would never recommend this facility to anyone
