Dr Nigro runs one of the most inefficient offices I’ve ever encountered. Waited 1.5 hours and finally left - the woman that was called back ahead of me had waited the same time and found out while she was in a room for another half hour that there were still two patients ahead of her. Too many talented derms in Houston for this kind of insensitivity to others’ time. I feel bad for her front office for having to deal with annoyed patients. This is my first bad review on Google but wanted others to be forewarned.

We’ve been waiting 3 weeks for my one and half year old son’s appointment, only for the doctor to see him for 5 minutes and decided to refer him to another specialist because he doesn’t know which bloodwork we need. Plus we were charged a full visit fee, while we didn’t get the required care. If the doctor can’t see us why wasting our time and money. Complete nonsense and disregard to the patient condition. I’m not happy with their service at all.

After calling about 10 times trying to fix an issue with a referral I am giving up. The front desk offered minimal amounts of service. There are plenty of good dermatologists in Houston.

I had my first visit today and overall it was an awesome visit. The offices are very modern & clean. The receptionist that checked me in was kind and efficient. I didn’t have to wait long to see Dr. Spedale. Dr. Spedale was very attentive... she listened to me and was very clear and detailed in what she wanted to do to fix my problem. She was very prepared and I felt good leaving the office. The in office pharmacy was also convenient and the staff was nice. Free parking in the parking garage.

Impossible to simply make an appointment! I tried calling a few times and never even got a voicemail and the automated system said text so I did and got an automatic reply but then never a response from a real person. Then called again a few days later and left a voice mail. I guess we are going somewhere else since we can’t even do step 1!

Amanda was so kind, and the visit was fast. Such a great dermatologist visit.

Disappointed by Lack of Transparency and Customer Care. I’m very disappointed by my experience at Nigro Dermatology on Richmond Ave. I booked an appointment requesting a low-dose, natural-looking Botox treatment with their doctor. I’ve done this exact treatment multiple times in the UK, Switzerland, and France—always using the original Botox brand, and always paying between $400–$500. To my surprise, I was charged $940 at this clinic—nearly double what I’ve ever paid anywhere else in the world, including top-tier medical clinics. I truly believed there must have been a misunderstanding, especially as I had asked for a conservative approach. I expected some willingness to clarify the charges, but when I called the clinic, the front desk was dismissive and uninterested in helping. Instead of a conversation, they simply sent me the invoice and that was that. From a customer service perspective, the experience was very poor. There was no heads-up about costs beforehand, and no explanation offered afterward. If I had genuinely requested the 52 units I was charged for, the result would have looked completely unnatural—exactly what I was trying to avoid. To make matters worse, we had just chosen this clinic as our family dermatologist. But after this experience, we’ve decided to move our care elsewhere. It’s not just about the high price—it’s about the lack of transparency, poor communication, and total unwillingness to engage with a concerned patient. I don’t ever do customer reviews online, but I’m writing this so others can be more informed than I was. I hope the practice considers improving its approach to both transparency and patient care. So disappointing.

Two stars because at least the staff were friendly and seem like good people. But consumer beware. I had a 20-minute appointment in which the doc saw me for less than 5 minutes and promptly used scare tactics to get me to agree to a punch biopsy to test for what could be wrong. A week or so later, the results were (of course) eczema, which I was told is a chronic skin condition which has no cure and would require intensive follow-up "treatments." What they didn't tell me was that there are natural paths to healing available (thank God for Casey Means and her work) and that they had sent my skin sample to three different labs, all of whom wanted my money. It was extremely confusing as the patient trying to make sense of how one simple visit turned to four different agencies demanding payment, totalling over $1,000. I wished that I had been warned before how the medical system preys upon folks who are in a vulnerable position just trying to get answers about their health. I don't intend to blame the doc, but given the power differential and the No Surprises Act, you should be transparent and inform patients about how much these crazy procedures will cost before you maximize your diagnosis codes on them just to maximize your profit. Save yourself the trouble by reading Good Energy and pursuing holistic medical interventions.
