I had an excellent experience at Mount Sinai South Nassau. I recently underwent surgery there, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the level of care i received. A special thank you to Dr. Emil Gurshumov for his professionalism, expertise, and clear communication throughout the entire process. He made me feel confident and reassured every step of the way. I also incredibly thankful to nurse Eileen Giangrasso, who was attentive, compassionate, and genuinely kind. She went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and cared for. The anesthesiologist also deserves special recognition for their professionalism and for ensuring everything went smoothly and safely. Overall, every staff member I encountered was respectful, polite, helpful, and truly caring. It made a stressful situation much easier for me. I highly recommend Mount Sinai South Nassau to anyone in need of medical care.

I stayed in the hospital for two days after my surgery and was taken care of so well by all the nurses. They were knowledgeable, efficient, caring, and friendly. If I needed anything, they came immediately and they always made sure I was comfortable. My recovery nurse Judith May-uyon was amazing. She spoke to me while I was waking up and was very caring and said she was going to stay with me and I had nothing to worry about. She made sure I was in no pain and she was very, very sweet the next morning she came up to the room to see me to see how I was doing after her shift was ending, and she actually put all her stuff down to warm up my breakfast because it was a little cold. She didn’t have to do any of that, but she went above and beyond she is an exceptional nurse. Also Angeline and Shavelle always made sure I had everything that I needed and also kept me laughing. I am truly grateful for the care that I received.

Mount Sinai Hospital 🏥 Emergency Room in Nassau County, 🚑🚔🚑 Excellent service, Excellent staffing,💉👩‍⚕️🩻 Clean hospital, Very helpful staff, Easy registration,📝knowledgeable medical professionals🚑👨‍⚕️🚔and supporting staff.👩‍⚕️💉🩻🙏 Plenty of free 🚗🚙🏍️🚐🚑🚒parking, it appears to be a new facility my family and I are very impressed with the service they provided. The supporting medical 🧑‍⚕️🧑‍🔬🧑‍🏫🧑‍🔧👮staff were very concern for our well being.🙏 I observed how these professional staff work among each other in order to provide the best customer service care for incoming patients, this place is also family friendly, my five year old enjoy while we waited for our X-ray🩻 and cat scans He was learning while we waited to be seen by the doctor 🧑‍⚕️and during our process. As a Veteran I find Mount Sinai ER hospital to have exceptional service both medically and in customer service.⭐⭐⭐⭐ Special thanks to Medical physician 👨‍⚕️ Dr. Itzkowitz and his support staff.👍 Thank you for your service.

What a wonderful experience! The service starting from the Crystal Carolina the admitting nurse ,to nurse Wolf, to Dr. David, to Dr. Kontonicolas, to the 3 handsome post op nurses, to our nurse attendie Sobana, was 5 starts. The compassion, professionalism, the accuracy of diagnostic test and interpretation had made an acute appendicitis a breath. My 14 yrs. old daughter was in excrutianting pain and they took care of her with so much kindness. She was diagnosed in 4 hrs while being treated with pain medications and antibiotics and in 9 hrs she was already in the operating room. She was calm and trusted the process. In 16 hrs since arrival we were home. Thanks to the speedy diagnosis and treatment my daughters appendix was intact and was treated by laparoscopy. They have taken care of my daughter since birth and now through the most common and deadly condition appendicitis; they have come through againn. Thank you to the amazing team a South Nassau for such outstanding care. I will always feel comfortable coming to you again. MH

My son is special needs and required surgery. We were admitted to pediatric floor. 2 RN's were acceptable 1LPN was very understanding and seemed to care about her patient. I would not recommend this hospital for any pediatric care. Fighting over who would clean up after my son had an issue was so unbearable and overwhelming. Please take the time to travel if u can to Cohens Children Hospital. Transferring there was the best decision I ever made.

My mother went to the ER on Saturday with severe lower right hip and leg pain rated 10/10 and spent approximately four hours there. Unfortunately, she was discharged in the same level of pain she arrived with and without any clear explanation of what might be causing it. The only imaging performed was an X-ray. A CT scan was refused because there was no fall or injury involved, despite the severity of her pain. The provider I spoke with on the phone had very poor bedside manner and was dismissive of our concerns. At one point she said that if we wanted, they could prescribe Motrin or Tylenol “if that would make us feel better,” which felt extremely dismissive given that my mother was in severe pain. She mentioned she would ask her attending, but the attending never spoke with me directly. The attending did speak with my mother, however my mother has limited English proficiency, which made communication difficult. No interpreter or additional effort was made to ensure she fully understood her condition or treatment plan. Additionally, my mother has a history of cardiac arrhythmia and prior ablation, yet she was discharged with a muscle relaxant without much discussion regarding safety. After four hours in the ER, my mother left still in severe pain with no meaningful answers or plan for further evaluation of the hip and leg pain. This experience was extremely disappointing and concerning. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this emergency department to family or friends.

This location has much to be desired I arrived 2am in the morning extreme pain. Was told I needed to stay two days to rid of pneumonia. No problem. Was taken to the lower level room alone. Nurses station near by In pain I buz for someone and it took too long to respond. Even walked to the nurse station, this way I got response. On a shif crane I again had to go to the nurse station where one clerk would not even look at me when speaking. The food was reasonable but would had beed better if it were actually hot. Most of the doctors who visited me were detached. not personable, threw out instructions and in 5 min, left. I was given no supplies,, cover for my feet, never received the extra hospital gown I asked for. The kitchen staff were more personable then those who were suppose to be "professional". At that point I began to drill them with question because with such care I was concerned about my health being a recent transplant client at the great mt. Sinai NYC. where there is a enormous difference in patient care. I was given a sheet of medication I need to pick up from a pharmacy. They have a pharmacy and should have given me medication for at least one day as my pharmacy was closed sat and sun. So on Easter Sunday I have to call around to find who can fill out the prescription. Nassau medical center is considered the worst hospital on Long Island but having been a patient there is matchless compared to mt Sinai oceanside. All staff needs to be restrained in my opinion. Very upset.

Send your loved ones here to die: I could write a novel of bad reviews about this hospital. i doubt i'd have enough space. this used to be a good hospital....a long time ago. it's the OPPOSITE now. it should be shut down for gross negligence and poor patient treatment and extreme lack of empathy. i have only complimented ONE doctor here. she was in the minority most recently though, we brought our mother in for extreme shortness of breath. they sent her home same day. they dismissed her concerns. she died a few days later. i would recommend ANY hospital before having to settle on this one. a few years ago, their HORRIBLE head of SOCIAL WORK once told me to use my parents home as "a rainy day fun" for my fathers care rather callously. She doesn't deserve to have a job working with people (and i hope she reads this) Avoid this hospital at ALL costs if you care about your own life or the lives of your loved ones.
