All the doctors here don’t listen and it feels they want to rush you out. I’ve seen 5 different ones and they’re all saying different things about my injury. One of the doctors literally said “what do you want me to do.” And I’ll get a referral for more procedures or different doctors and it always take over 3 weeks to get an appointment a lot of them taking over a month. The only saving grace is the nurses are very kind and try their best to accommodate (not all of them of course but the few I’ve had)
I had a great experience at this hospital. NP Rice was sweet, kind, and very efficient. The nurses were very efficient as well although I can tell they had a lot on their plate, they did their job with a smile and patience. They made sure I was safe and well taken care of. I would definitely be coming back if I ever need to.
If you have the chance, dont come here. Moves so slowly, hard to speak to doctors simce theyre always busy so its hard to get answers. Has been a nightmare. Thank God for the kind nurses but after days of being in the hospital that only gets you so far. This place is too big and too many people with no insurance. Emergency patients go first too, that means life or death patients. It makes sense but if you have an emergency but your vitals are still okay be prepared to wait. And wait. Don't come here if you can.
I'll never come here again since everyone want to guniea pig you because a majority of staff is "training" or whatever. The nurse put a catheter inside me wrong and had to do 3 attempts to do it right and it's really HURT me, I even urninated all over the bed because obviously it wasn't in right. My pressure was high and got lowered which was good and me and my baby were fine. They also misdiagnosed me because I had a follow up appointment with my OB and my test results were negative. And when I asked if I had what they were testing me for here at general they didn't have a yes or no answer and the doctor never came to talk to me. At that point I was really there for nothing and I kept asking to leave in the morning it's like they didn't want to let me leave too just kept me there for 12 hrs to get money Get it together
PARKING ONLY Concerns.
1. Cleanliness, Odors, and Safety 🏨🅿️
The parking structure—especially the side across from the main area—is extremely dirty, including the old elevator.
There are strong odors of urine and other foul smells, and in some areas there is even feces on the floor, which is unacceptable for a hospital environment.
Every level needs to be pressure washed with soap and bleach, with special attention to the 3rd floor, which connects directly to the hospital bridge.
Regular, thorough cleaning is essential for health and safety, particularly in high-traffic areas where germs and viruses can accumulate.
A recommended schedule is to power-wash every two months.
If the hospital cannot afford this, they should consider asking volunteers or private companies to donate their cleaning services.
2. Parking Misuse by Employees
Employees are using patient and guest parking areas, causing the parking structure to be full on almost every level.
This creates hardships for patients, visitors, and families who rely on accessible parking.
Installing cameras on each floor, including inside the elevator, would help monitor and prevent misuse..
I will take pictures next time 📷
Bedside manners are horrible. The nurse in charge was so tired she forgot to give my daughter her second dose of antibiotics. My daughter is suppose to be admitted by now but they have her sitting in a chair with her face completely swollen, and mind you she’s been up for 24 hrs. I asked if she can eat something the nurse said she’ll check. Waited about 30 min to follow up and she said oh I forgot to ask. Don’t get me started about the waiting room. The filth and disgust. Amounts of unsettling urine through out the entire waiting and the women’s bathroom are practically a disease pool. I’m surprised the health department allows this facility to operate. Oh this facility hires anyone who can pick up a pen.
People say a lot of negative things about Los Angeles General Medical Center, but honestly these comments were the complete opposite of our experience. The doctors and nurses there have been very skilled, professional, compassionate, and genuinely helpful to us. After dealing with hospitals in Riverside County, where we personally had much worse experiences, the level of care at LA General felt completely different. They treated us like human beings and actually took the time to help.
Be advised that this hospital is horrible. Some staff were very rude and unprofessional. SOU unit was very attentive and professional. While the sixth building in department H needs a lot of work and attention.
The emergency room is a mess waiting time more than 8 hours. They treat you horribly. Make sure you take your camping bag and a blanket.
