I had to come into the ER because there was something wrong with my eye. I don’t have Kaiser Insurance yet, but I plan on switching next year. Very pleased with everything that was done for me at this hospital. I was seen quickly in the ER waiting room And all the staff were very accommodating and friendly and knowledgeable. There was maybe 15 people in there waiting with me. They said my retina was not torn or detached so I could go home but had a follow up appointment the next morning and went to the medical building this time and saw an ophthalmologist there at Kaiser and was very pleased with these results as well. The doctor was very patient, answered all my questions and gave me a follow up plan. I was able to use my LA Care insurance plan and had a $350 co-pay which wasn’t too bad considering it was the ER and I saw one of the doctors the next day. I was seen within five minutes and it’s very nice that it’s not a frantic atmosphere. Exceptional facilities. Very clean and well organized. Highly recommend.
I’m writing this review on behalf of my friend who was admitted to Kaiser LA, Neuro ICU and later the Neurology Telemetry / Med Surg unit.
We’re truly grateful for the care he received at Kaiser Sunset after sustaining a traumatic brain injury. The entire team—from the nurses (Christian, Ralph, Daisy, Marie, and others whose names we unfortunately can’t recall) to the support staff and physicians—was outstanding.
Everyone was kind, patient, and took the time to clearly explain what was going on, which meant so much during such a stressful and uncertain time. You could really tell they cared about his recovery and about supporting our family through it all.
The physicians (neurologist, neurosurgeon, and internal medicine) were excellent—clear, responsive, and easy to communicate with. It felt like there was strong teamwork and everyone was on the same page, which gave us a lot of confidence in the care he was receiving.
I was also very impressed with how clean and well-maintained the unit was. It helped us feel reassured that he was in a safe, well-cared-for environment.
Overall, we couldn’t have asked for better care. Huge thanks to the entire Kaiser Sunset team for everything they did during such a difficult period.
As a nurse practitioner currently working in a neurocritical care unit, I can honestly say I deeply appreciated the level of professionalism and compassion shown here.
If you have an emergency…..do not come here. You will sit in the wait room for more than 5 hours with no blankets to keep the sick warm and no real follow-up until they decide that it’s time to see you. I arrived at 9:30pm and it’s 4:11am and I still haven’t been seen by a doctor nor have I gone into the actual ER room to be treated. My suggestion is go to USC General. Unless you want to sit here eternity. It’s 4:22pm and I just got in to the ER room. I wonder how much longer I will I have to wait here for a doctor to see me.
Parking was great for my visit time but it was nice to not walk so far. I went to see Dr Motahar Bossum, He was awesome !, his advice and knowledge really helped me. It's only been a few days and I can feel a positive difference. I'm so thankful to him and tomiko for a quick helpful , meaningful visit. I was really early for my appointment and the doctor took me in early and got me out after we got all the questions & instructions covered.
This Kaiser was very clean , staff was friendly & I had a wonderful visit
Johanna was my mom’s nurse very pleasant and caring. Helped set up upcoming appointments to make it very easy to move along with her illness. Doctor and adviser Elisabeth was so helpful. Not the place you want to be but if you have to this Kaiser will take good care of you!
I wanted to let Kaiser know I wanted to give recognition to Ms Jenny Coronado , Dermatology dept, kaiser on sunset LA. for hoing above and beyond to help me this afternoon. My blood pressure after it was checked initially was high then she took the time to recheck it and gave me the technique- breathing techniques , to stay calm and relax. She literally took her time with me with a smile on her voice very professional very kind and pleasant yo talk to very respectful. I wanted to recognize her for the amazing job she did. Thank you so much Ms Coronado. You are one of the reason why I value and still with Kaiser until now. Continue doing an awesome job!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about the nurses at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. I stayed at the hospital for two weeks, and throughout my entire stay, the nurses were nothing short of extraordinary. Their compassion, professionalism, patience, and genuine kindness made an incredibly difficult time so much easier to get through.
Every single nurse treated me with dignity and respect, always taking the time to listen, explain, and reassure me. No matter how busy they were, they never made me feel rushed or like “just another patient.” They checked in on me constantly, anticipated my needs before I even had to ask, and showed a level of empathy that truly touched my heart.
Their skill and attention to detail gave me complete confidence in my care, and their warmth made the hospital feel far less intimidating. From day shifts to night shifts, the care was consistently outstanding. It’s clear these nurses don’t just do their jobs—they genuinely care about their patients and love what they do.
I am deeply grateful to the nursing staff for their dedication, compassion, and humanity. They made a lasting impact on my recovery and my life, and I will never forget the kindness they showed me. Kaiser Permanente LA is incredibly lucky to have such an amazing team of nurses. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to

Surgery department, pre op and post operative departments were great I give them a 5 stars. The medical/ surgical department was a very disappointing experience the day nurse and supervisor left me with a bad feeling. Feel free to contact me for any details about my stay.
