New patient. Great experience. Very friendly staff. Mallory Dolan went over my X-rays and did an exam on my shoulder. She was knowledgeable and personable. My father recommended her also. He speaks very highly of her and that means a lot because he is a curmudgeon. Everyone on the staff had awesome attitudes even though I probably had one of the last appointments of the day when they were probably exhausted.
First time and not a good experience, I was scheduled an appointment at 7am and was told to be there 15 minutes prior to appointment time. I was there at 6:45am. Doors were locked then I’m sitting in my car and I see people walking in at 7:15am so I walk in and it’s open. Then they decide to not be able to see me and reschedule because stated I was late when I wasn’t not, front office lady said they don’t open their doors at 6:58am I called as well and no answer but the voice machine stated hours are from 8:00 to 5pm the sign on the window shows 8am to 5pm and google shows online their hours of 8am to 5pm. When people take half of a day off of work to do these appointments and just because they are misleading or not on time themselves. Do better!
I continue to have a great experiences at OrthoArizona in Avondale and I especially want to recognize Vanda Andelova for her outstanding care. professionals, the moment I arrive people are welcoming, professional, and genuinely attentive. Vanda takes the time to answer my questions, makes sure I am comfortable throughout the visit and helps me get through everything smoothly. It’s clear she truly cares about her patients. Experiences like this make a big difference. I highly recommend this location.
-I wanted to provide an update on my care. I went to another clinic, that is well known in the area, and I was seen by another orthopedic surgeon. He ACTUALLY LISTENED to me and all of the run around I have been through. We discussed my pain and pain management and he understood my goals of care. I told him what each doctor has told me, hip tear repair vs. replacement. He told me pros and cons of each surgery and he too agreed with the Mayo Clinic doctor, a replacement is in my best interest but it was up to me. He said with a repair, I was looking at a replacement in possibly 5 years with the degree of arthritis I have in my hip. Yes it’s “mild/moderate” but it
is close enough to severe to warrant a replacement. When you can’t sleep at night, I would say that is severe. I am happy to report I’m getting my hip replacement next week, no thanks to Dr. Burnham. Maybe with this information, he can learn how to be a better doctor and improve his bedside manner.
All women, stay away from this doctor. He will belittle you and not take your pain seriously. I’ve had excruciating 10/10 pain for months and been to two sports medicine doctors, the last one being the Mayo clinic. They referred me to this clinic for a hip replacement. This “man” did nothing but talk over me and not actually listen to my issues. I am 49 years old with no quality of life because I can’t sit down, lay down, or walk. But to this doctor I’m apparently just looking for someone to give me a new hip. I am terrified to do any surgery at all but I’m also tired of being in pain 24/7 days a week. I just can’t imagine your business model is to turn people away because you think they don’t need it. Oh and if you’re a medical professional (e.g., nurses) run as fast as you can from this practice. This doctor has zero respect for you.
Dr. Burnham is an uncaring, incompetent jerk. Completely blew off our concerns, flat out refused to discuss the surgery we were referred here for. Thinks he knows better than the patient how they are feeling and what is needed to help. Accused us of being “disrespectful” after we became upset at his lack of compassion and empathy. Luckily, we immediately found a doctor who listened and is helping us so I do thank Burnham for that, I’m thrilled this guy won’t be operating on my wife. I’ve never heard of a doctor behaving like this, we were treated like drug seekers when all we wanted was to schedule a much needed hip replacement - not a fun experience but necessary when you cannot walk or even sleep without excruciating pain. Stay away, stay far away from this place. Oh, and also overbooks to the point where we waited 45 minutes past an 8 am appointment time. How are you that behind at 8 in the morning? Horrible location, horrible doctor. Do better.
Dr. Burnham was very professional, knowledgeable, and kind. I’m truly grateful for his expertise and assistance in getting my knee better. He provided excellent care and ensured I understood each step of the treatment. A great experience overall.
