No. Let’s stress a patient out by allowing them to stress about the function of their dominant hand and extending their recovery time since they can’t recover until after the surgery. So let’s allow the patient to suffer with no pain relief. With that said, people don’t want to become addicted to drugs. The medical community doesn’t want patients to become addicted, so you should schedule the surgery at an appropriate time so that less medication is needed.
