I had such a great experience with the handsome Dr. Narain. He was an absolute delight. I had cataract surgery with him and it was amazing. I started out with him at RVC and disliked the experience I had with his coordinator there, there was truly a lack of communication there. I then spoke with his coordinator in garden city, Nicole. While she was nice at first, over time she became very snappy over the phone. I could hear her banging on her desk when I would ask questions. This almost made me not want to have surgery at all. I am an older woman, scared of having surgery. It’s my eyes! I called Nicole back to cancel my surgery but was redirected to another coordinator, Anjali. I believe she is also Dr. Narain’s sister. She was absolutely AMAZING! The kind of comfort she provided me goes above and beyond customer service. I felt like I asked her the same questions over and over again but she did not become impatient. She laughed with me over the phone and truly helped me through the whole process! None the less, I had the surgery on both eyes and absolutely LOVE MY VISION & Dr. Narain.
Dr Donnenfeld did my cataract surgery and it came out great! 20 20 vision now with multi-focal lenses. He is just the best!
They also have another really great Ophthalmologist who specializes in oculoplastic surgery, Dr. Anna Terrarosa. Dr. Terrarosa did laser surgery on both my eyes to get rid of the folds in my conjunctiva which was causing my eyes to tear constantly. Her bedside manner is very warm and you can see she loves what she does and you feel completely comfortable putting your eyes in her care. My surgery came out 100% and there is no more tearing. If you want the best, go to them.
Mya Morris provided exceptional care throughout my cornea cross-linking procedure for keratoconus, and I cannot speak highly enough of her professionalism and expertise. From the very beginning, she demonstrated a deep understanding of my condition and explained every step of the process with clarity and patience. Her calm and reassuring demeanor immediately put me at ease, especially during a procedure that can feel overwhelming. The precision and confidence she displayed throughout the treatment reflected her high level of skill and dedication to patient care. Thanks to her work, my condition has been effectively stabilized, which has made a tremendous difference in my daily life. Most importantly, the success of the procedure allowed me to remain medically cleared for both military service and law enforcement. That outcome alone has had a profound impact on my future and career path. Mya Morris truly goes above and beyond for her patients, ensuring not just clinical success but also long-term well-being. I am incredibly grateful for her care and would strongly recommend her to anyone seeking treatment for keratoconus. Shout out Dr.Donnenfeld and Anjali Devasser(Surgical Coordinator) !
Very disappointed with OCLI Vision in Garden City.
My wife was handed multiple forms to sign before her appointment, but nobody clearly explained that certain tests might not be covered by insurance. We have both medical and vision insurance and were surprised to receive a bill afterward.
Getting answers was nearly impossible. Calls went unanswered, emails were ignored, and it took almost 10 days plus an in-person visit before we finally received a response.
The office manager, Kristy DiSipio, simply emailed us the signed paperwork and stated that we were responsible for the bill without providing any meaningful explanation. She also left a note for the billing department, and when I called, it was clear nobody was interested in reviewing the situation or helping resolve it.
We ultimately paid the bill, but the lack of transparency, poor communication, and dismissive customer service were unacceptable. Patients place their trust in medical providers and deserve honesty, transparency, and clear communication. A professional office should clearly explain any charges that may not be covered by insurance before services are performed, not leave patients with unexpected bills and little explanation afterward.
I received a different diagnosis than what I had previously been told by another doctor. I am glad I brought my astigmatism glasses with me, because it became clear that in the past they had been focusing on a different issue. During this visit, cataracts were also mentioned for the first time, although I was told that surgery is not needed (!).
There was some confusion with my prescriptions. Out of the three prescriptions sent to my pharmacy, I only received one. When I returned to the office to ask about the others, I was informed that one of the three needs to be purchased separately, and that some eye drops are shipped from Ohio and that I would receive a call before they are sent. This information was not explained to me during my appointment, even though I was present when the doctor instructed the assistant on what to send to the pharmacy. Unfortunately, I never received a call regarding the drops.
Additionally, the reception staff gave me the impression that they were being ironic, especially when I turned back as I was leaving and saw them laughing while looking at me. This made me feel uncomfortable and was not a professional experience.
This office is very clean, the staff was very helpful. Dr Donnenfeld was very thorough. The surgical coordinator Shundell answered all my questions. I highly recommend this place.
If I could give them a minus star, I would. This is the worst practice I have ever experienced in my life. It is like going to a factory. There is no way to contact a live person after hours -- not even the doctor on call will call you back! I had a procedure done on my eye and was supposed to begin medication immediately. I was advised that it was called into my pharmacy. When I went to my pharmacy to pick it up, I was told that nothing was called in. I called the doctor's office and received a recording that the office was closed and left a message. When I never received any call back, I left another and then another later that evening. Still, no call back. The recording indicated that the office would be open on Saturday from 9-1. So, I called again first thing in the morning and received a recording that the office was closed! However, I did finally receive a message from someone in the office to find out whether or not I received my prescription. Since I missed the call, I called the office back only to be able to speak to a main switchboard that takes calls for all offices! What nonsense!!! I have never heard of any practice like this in my life and will never go back. I can't imagine what happens when someone has a real eye emergency! These doctors have some life. But patients beware! The doctors may be good -- I honestly don't know whether they are or not, but the practice is HORRIBLE! Find another place to go!
I have a surgery scheduled for tomorrow. I received a call from OCLI to come at 9:45 am today and sign the consent for surgery. I came in, the staff at the reception was discourteous, if not rude. Did not offer a friendly atmosphere for a patient who is anxious about surgery.
