I have been using Specsavers in City Square Shopping Centre, Waterford for over 25 years and have consistently had a very positive experience. The staff have always been helpful, friendly, polite and professional. The opticians take time to explain things clearly and the overall service feels efficient but still personal. I would strongly recommend booking an appointment in advance rather than walking in, as this tends to make the process smoother. They offer a wide range of eyewear, from budget options through to designer frames, as well as contact lenses and related products. They also provide contact lens fittings and training, and offer an online ordering and delivery service for contact lenses. In my experience, they are also very willing to adjust, tighten, or help with minor repairs on glasses when needed. Appointments and prescriptions are handled in an organised way, and my understanding is that they can assist with GMS/medical card optical forms where applicable. Once glasses are ready, you are typically notified by text, which is convenient. They also stock a good range of accessories such as lens solutions and eye drops. Payment is straightforward, with both card and cash accepted. Parking is available nearby in the City Square car park or on surrounding streets, and the shopping centre has toilet facilities. Overall, this has been a consistently reliable and professional optician service in Waterford, and I would confidently recommend it based on long-term personal experience.

I had an amazing experience from start to finish. The optician, Daire, was absolutely fantastic. My prescription had increased again, and I was starting to feel nervous because it had also changed significantly two years ago. Daire took the time to reassure me and explained that this is very common for people in their 40s, and that my vision should begin to stabilise in my 50s. He made me feel completely calm and at ease. After my eye test, I was helped by two lovely girls while choosing my glasses. They were outstanding, gave me plenty of attention, and helped me find the perfect pair to suit my face. The whole team was so friendly, professional, and welcoming throughout the entire visit. Overall, the experience was excellent. The staff made me feel relaxed, cared for, and actually made the whole process enjoyable. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for great service and expert care.

After 13 years of being a loyal Specsavers customer, I will never do business with them again after how I was spoken to today by an associate at the Waterford store. Had exam and ordered 2-for-1 glasses about a month ago. 2 days after picking them up, I lost my prescription glasses in a gardening incident where they were irretrievable. Back in I went to order another pair after receiving a Golden Ticket for 50% off. On the day I ordered, I was told I'd get: 2 pairs of glasses for 1 WITH both the 50% off AND my remaining PSRI. I asked that associate *multiple times* if she was sure this was correct? As it sounded too good to be true. She assured me it was. Went in today to pick up my glasses. Only 1 pair presented. So told them I was expecting another pair and was pulled over to a desk. This associate says, no, you can't combine the Golden Ticket and 2 for 1. I said, okay, but that's not what I was told when I ordered. And then she asks me (word for word): "What do you think you were paying 54 Euro for, I wonder?" Certainly not to be spoken to or treated like a child. This was just one example of how she brushed me off and acted as though I was "confused" and not misinformed by their own staff. 54 Euro (on top of the 200+ I paid the first time) is NOT an insignificant amount of money! Not only was her question classist, but this associate also served me the first time and KNEW I am low income. I told her multiple times I could hardly afford that first exam and glasses, let alone the replacement pair! My dad died 3 months ago and I'm in so much debt from his funeral that I can barely afford to look after my own health. I had to make major financial adjustments just to afford the first exam. Getting out of the house while you're grieving to run errands like these is hard enough, let alone when you're treated unkindly the way I was today (I had a panic attack after this encounter). When a customer is told they'll receive something for their money spent and asks multiple times if this is really the case, it's not fair to treat them like *they* were the ones who got confused! Staff at this store need to be corrected on how the Golden Ticket / 2 for 1 Offers work so they can give their customers the right information. And they need to treat their customers with more respect and dignity! You never know someone's financial situation or what they're going through. The fact I was spoken to this way today, in the state I'm in, is downright SHAMEFUL for the entire store. If you're low income, save yourself some money and hassle by skipping Specsavers and ordering online.

Best experience ever, in my entirety of dealing with any of the outlets for any purpose! I was in dire need of visual aids, as I had broken my only pair of glasses. The optician, Helen, dispensing optician Lucy, along with Emma, and Kate did their best and facilitated an early appointment for contact lens teaching. Thanks to their efforts, I was finally sorted, and now I can spend the next few weeks in peace, as I had some very important commitments to keep. Many thanks for all your help! Muhammad

The eye exam was very thorough, and the optician was very informative, providing high-quality technical information whilst also eliciting my experiences and areas of concern. The optician also offered practical advice on closer-range glasses to suit my work, so this was a great help. There was a good range of frames available. I was able to review these with the dispensing optician and discuss options within my preferred budget. The turnaround time for the new glasses was very quick, and I was able to call in after work to collect them with attentive service even though it was getting near closing time. Overall, a great experience.

I had a very good experience at your store. The staff and the doctor were helpful and professional. As a suggestion, it would be great if the full eye test results and prescription could be provided either by email or as a printed copy at the end of the appointment, without the need for the customer to request them. I believe this would make the process even more convenient. Overall, everything was great.

Great customer service, greeted with a big smile, very nice optician, we spoke about the health of the back of the eye, I was given multiple options and ample time to choose my glasses. I love walking into to Specsavers for that reason I am a regular customer and have been since 2008 and I will continue to use Specsavers. I love the email reminders as i always forget the time its due. They great to contact the PRSI for me and give me as much available benefits as possible because I am totally useless in that department :) Thank you again Specsavers :)

Comparing two different shops in Lisduggan Shopping Centre is my favourite. The staff is absolutely brilliant, helpful and always positive and nice. The help with picking frames and a professional view is unbeatable. We are a family of four, and we won't go anywhere else…
