I had a specific Xray procedure done today at the Galway Clinic. I met a lovely lady called Helen in the radiology department. She was very friendly and helpful. She answered any questions I had in a nice helpful manner. All other staff were very pleasant also. The hospital is lovely and clean.

I was travelling in Ireland with my cousin when she got sick and needed medical attention. Brought her to the Galway clinic where we got efficient care in ED up until we got to the ward. The I was told I had to leave her after visiting hours. We paid 3700 euros for this 24h hospital visit and she had a private room and we were not bothering anyone. We were only staying for 1 night to treat her and fly back to canada the next day. The fact that I was not allowed to stay is ridiculous despite me pleading with them that we are here alone, in a foreign country, even if she was stable. Then they told me I was bold for cancelling my hotel room before asking about the visitation rules of the hospital, then proceeded to tell me that the rules in Canada are the same even though they are not. Ive stayed with enough family in Canada to know everyone gets 1 overnight vistor. Rules can be bent from time to time, not everything is black and white. These nurses should have a bit of compassion. Bedside nurse was lovely but the nurse in charge needs to get off her high horse. We also could have been discharged at 11am the next day but they kept delaying things for no reason and I’m sure they purposely wanted to surpass 24h so that we would be charged another night. I’ve heard other blackrock health locations provide a better experience. Certainly don’t want to use this clinic again in future.

Just spent 7 nights in the Galway Clinic. I wish to thank my wonderful doctor, the fantastic nurses and everyone on John Paul for the great care and support i got during my stay. Couldnt do enough for me. Thank you

The most unhelpful administration staff I've ever come across. So abrupt, rude and unhelpful. Main reception staff were exceptionally nice and helpful but the suite admin staff were so so rude and abrupt it was hard to believe. Strangely, their behaviour complete changed in the presence of the consultant!! their faux politeness was stomach churning. My first and only dealings with Blackrock Health. A truly awful experience.

Very futuristic and beautiful clinic, was leaving somebody else off but even know visitors were not allowed at the time of posting, I was able to stay through the check in process. Staff were very friendly and always had time to help. Dinner for patient was presented by a menu, and you got choice. I would highly recommend this hospital/clinic for anyone who needs urgent help. There is also an in-house Chapel, pharmacy and small shop.

This place is amazing. I had an appointment here. I was so impressed. The moment u walk in, everything is so pretty, it doesn't feel like you are in the hospital. Beautifully decorated, piano in the middle of the waiting area, staff very friendly and professional, everywhere super clean.

Unfortunately my experience with the private secretary (Ms Breedge Cannon suite 35) for Dr. Tahir Saleem has been disappointing. What’s the point of having a private secretary if she ignores every email? I asked simple, important questions MORE THAN ONCE to clarify few prep instructions and supplement safety as it was a bit confusing for me in the protocol and got completely ignored! No response, no acknowledgment even after few weeks. Didn’t bother calling because it’s pointless. I had to seek clarity elsewhere! And let’s be clear, I’m paying out of pocket for this. If I’m going private, I expect better. I’ll be bringing this up directly with the doctor, but it’s worth sharing here too: poor communication like this adds unnecessary stress and makes patients feel dismissed. Not acceptable.

normally very good experiences with all the black rock health group doctors until i saw a specific pain specialist they lied to me about medication side effects lied and said they can cause brain damage and tried to charge me €700+ for local anaesthetic when a small vial costs €4 went to a different much better pain specialist in the blackrock women’s health centre and they even said they’ve complained about her due to the extortionate prices this pain specialist in the galway clinic caused me a massive deal of anxiety and stress i am afraid to go back here
