Becoming a sperm donor at this clinic is not possible if your Finnish or English language skills are not at the level of your native language. If you are a foreigner, think twice about coming and participating in the program. Good luck to everyone. I signed up to donate and was traveling to Helsinki from another city. The appointment was cancelled about 45 minutes before the appointment, when I was almost there. I spent about €40 on travel. In the end, I went anyway because it was nearby. I'm responding to your review! I wrote that I fully understand the process and am willing to participate. I was told it would be difficult with a translator, although I was willing to provide my own.

I have to write this review due to another LGBT review. I openly talked about my gender sexual orientation and my marriage situation when meeting and discussing with the doctor K.R. She was supportive and kindly explained to me the procedure, and the pros and cons of the treatment. With my poor Finnish skill, I misunderstood somehow when listening to all norms and medical terms. English is not my mother tongue language, therefore I had to take double efforts to learn both terms in English and Finnish. The price of private clinics in Finland is quite high, as it is about 2.5 times the price in my home country. I couldn’t arrange time to start the treatment there. Dextra was recommended in a small Finnish-speaking LGBT parent group. Besides, I tried to join the parent-ship training for LGBT parents, and find co-parenting partners there. This is absolutely one of the most challenging fights in my life. To reduce the pelvic floor pain during the examination, I recommend to find some alternative therapies. You can ask the advices from the doctor. Dextra in Ruoholahti is quite small and cozy. After a few visits, I have the feeling that they remember my face. You can get the rare medicine from the pharmacy nearby. Otherwise, you have to order them in advance from other pharmacies. The laboratory nurses got my blood samples much better than in Mehilainen, where the nurse failed and made me faint.

Complete waste of time and money. The doctor put me in an extremely uncomfortable position and insisted on undergoing a painful, intimate exam before we'd even had a discussion. Presumably so they could charge me more! After the exam, we talked for a few minutes and it was determined that this treatment wasn't a good option for me- not because of any assessments made from the exam but just from talking and discussing the treatment options. Therefore this painful expensive exam, that hurt for literally two weeks afterwards, was completely unnecessary! This place is also unfriendly and not a safe space for LGBT+ patients. This is based on my visit there. There was misgendering and heteronormative assumptions of my situation. The doctor clearly wasn't interested in getting to know me, my situation or indeed helping me. They just wanted to put me through as much pain and humiliation as possible, charge me as much as they could, then show me the door.

I froze embrys here (to be transferred later) and was generally very happy with the service. I have PTSD from a previous severe pre-eclampsia & c-section with poor pain relief. This was taken into account and the communication & pain relief during egg harvest was excellent.
