I have extremely mixed feelings about this practice. They are usually very nice and helpful to me, but when it comes to my husband it becomes absurd. They just refuse to listen to his requests and send him off without even seeing him. As an example- I am expecting and there was a urine u infection found in my results. My midwife was adamant my husband needs to do his test as likely I might have got it from him. The surgery just refused to do it for him, even though it’s necessary for him and me and future baby. And it’s just a simple urine test that is needed to be sent off. And it’s not the first time it happened. Sorry to say but we started to think it might be cause my husband is a different nationality and they just brush him off. Cause If I call on his behalf he’s likely to get seen. I am speechless and starting to lose my marbles cause this attitude is affecting my little one cause if there is an infection I will be catching ir all over again and again. I was already prescribed a horse dose of medication and that no good for little one forming. Literally fuming cause we are just asking for a simple tests not a whole body analysis.
i would to thank Lubna and Simone who both gave an amazing service and where supportive of my needs and delivered a A star level of support. They were able to build positive connections and have fully grasped the understanding of the therapeutic alliance and displayed this positive attitude towards me and others which is a breath of fresh air.

Honestly terrible service. I can never speak about more than one problem to my gp they always tell me to take another appointment even for more minor things which- they all are!!! Otherwise I wouldn’t be at the gp. I waited half an hour for my appointment yesterday, they said running late. I finally get in and I am shooed away in less than 10 min. I only wanted a referral!! She said no she has to do an entire examination to refer me to a obgyn. Even if that was the case, let’s do it then!! I was only in there for 5 min. I said I had just waited 30 min patiently and they told me there just isn’t enough time. No, there isn’t enough will to WORK!! that’s what’s missing, not time. Terrible terrible practice honestly don’t believe the positive reviews.
My appointment was on 23.12.25 at 08:10am. The lady doctor who saw me was excellent. Highly professional, attentive, compassionate, patient centred, used humanistic and holistic approaches, involved me in her consultation and while she examined me, gave me honest and very accurate information, and very knowledgeable. I have no doubts that she's a gift to the Portland GP surgery and to the community as a whole. I was disappointed and concerned on my previous appointment on 19.12.2025 but this lady doctor professionalism and approaches cleared my doubts and worries. I'm sorry I cannot remember her name, she introduced herself very kindly and told me her name.
May I also take this opportunity to thank the gentleman doctor who saw me and took my symptoms very seriously, he organised various tests, investigations and fast specialist referrals promptly. An amazing doctor too.
Also, to the lady doctor who I spoke to on the phone after him about my worries on medication side effects and discussed my new symptoms, she paid close attention, changed my medication and organised more tests for me promptly too.
Thank you very much to the reception personels for always trying to contact me and organising my appointments, especially to rearranged a time that suits me whenever I could not make it.
I am very grateful to you all.

Extremely helpful and sympathetic re: my long-term health condition. Like other people have said, I was apprehensive about the booking system at first, but it's helped me to consolidate my thoughts and get the most useful response. One thing I would say is that not everyone can respond to phone calls on certain weekdays, so another option for arranging an appointment at a later date would be good.
Dr Reem Saad is a fantastic GP. She takes her time to thoroughly understand my condition and is very clear in her diagnosis. As an 84 year old I can't always remember everything, so she's happy to chat to my family to support me. I'm very appreciative of her kindness.
I requested an appointment it was lost in the system as i didnt hear anthing for over a week I called to set up an appointment via phone. The receptionist rudely told me that the service was only for blind people. I eventually called again as i was in so much pain and was finally given an appointment a week away because they could see I got lost in the system. In the gp appt the doctor gave me prescription that was no longer in stock at any chemist so i wasted time going to multiple pharmacies to find this. Then it took 2 days to get the right prescription. After that I wasnt even given enough medication to last a week despite how bad my condition is and was told I probably wasnt going to be able to see a specialist for a year. Then when I went to get more medication I waited a week then was told id get a call back and never did. Basically left without anything to suffer
