I would like to leave my sincere thanks to the entire team at this hospital. I arrived in a lot of pain and feeling quite anxious, and from the very first moment I was treated with great care, respect and kindness. Even though my English is not perfect, I never felt lost or alone. Everyone was patient, understanding and always made sure I felt calm and supported.
The reception staff, nurses and doctors showed incredible professionalism, but what touched me the most was the human side of the care. In the waiting area, before the procedure, during preparation and also after the surgery, someone was always there reassuring me, checking on me and making me feel safe. This made all the difference at a moment when I felt vulnerable and scared.
I am leaving this hospital feeling truly grateful for the attention, compassion and respect I received. It is comforting to know there is a place where people are treated with such professionalism and genuine care. Thank you all so much for everything you did for me.
The care I received was excellent. The staff were superb — kind, professional and very reassuring — and the doctor was outstanding, taking time to explain everything clearly.
My only criticism is the clinic environment. The room was extremely warm (around 30°C) and patients were sitting there for long periods, which was uncomfortable and could be difficult for vulnerable patients.
The standard of care was first class, but the facilities and conditions need improvement to match the quality of the staff.
My first appointment at this hospital and on arrival a young lady must of seen that I was a little lost. After telling her who my appointment was with, she walked with me to the check in desk and then to the waiting area. With respect because of the selfish world we live in, I wasn't expecting it and couldn't thank her enough. We have the best health service in the world and it's one of many things I will never take for granted.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience. As a heart transplant recipient, I attended the hospital with mild shortness of breath. During my assessment, I was told by staff that I had suffered a heart attack. I was also told by the cardiologist performing the echocardiogram that I possibly had severe right ventricular dysfunction and a valve abnormality and a possible pulmonary embolism. Hearing this was incredibly frightening.
My blood tests and ECG were reported as normal, yet I left the hospital without a clear diagnosis or explanation. The conflicting information caused unnecessary anxiety and confusion.
It was only later, after reviewing my care with my transplant team in Manchester, that I learned my echocardiogram was normal. This made the experience even more frustrating, as I spent the entire weekend worrying that I had a serious cardiac problem and was unable to sleep because of the distress it caused.
Patients deserve clear, consistent communication, especially when discussing potentially life-threatening conditions. Being told you have suffered a heart attack or have severe heart dysfunction, only to later learn your investigations were normal, caused me unnecessary fear and emotional distress.
I had a total thyroidectomy performed by Dr saba balasubramanian at northern general hospital yesterday. Saba as he's know is an amazing surgeon. I felt completely at ease knowing that I was in his capable hands and id love to thank him and his team for the great work they did on me. Also the staff at every point of my visit were all amazing. I was looked after with genuine care and attention. I was on firth 8 for my over night stay and the staff were all lovely. Many thanks for all your hard work and help. Laura xxx
Friend went in with stabbing pains round 11.30-12. Got told they'd have to see an on duty GP. Four hours later when checking what was happening got told she wouldn't be seen till gone 8am so she'd be better off seeing her own local GP. If your not going to bother seeing someone, at least have the decency to tell them so they can go see someone that's not useless.
I want to share a very upsetting experience I had with your ambulance service.
People in ambulances are not always what you expect, and last night I had a panic attack for the first time in my life. It was a completely new and frightening experience for me, so I called emergency services and an ambulance was sent.
Two older female staff members arrived. Instead of offering reassurance or helping me calm down, they were laughing and making dismissive comments. They kept saying that it was nothing and that I should just calm myself down. Even though they came into my home, their behavior was disrespectful and unprofessional.
At one point, I said I wanted to go to the hospital, but neither of them helped me. They went downstairs ahead of me and told me to lock my door and come to the ambulance myself, saying that if I didn’t come, they would leave. This was while I was struggling to breathe and shaking.
Regardless of whether a panic attack is considered serious or not, this was my first experience and I was genuinely scared and physically unwell. Is this really an acceptable way to treat a patient?
I am very disappointed with how I was treated and hope this issue will be taken seriously.
Visit to NGH A nE on Sunday 24th November tragedy very quickly and efficiently . My visit went down hill from there on department very very busy with a very ill lady who needed to be on her own , waited 7 hours to be told I hadv2 options either go to my GP and the Dr would send a letter to them and encourage them to send me to outpatients and she would give me antibiotics, 2 wait in the waiting room and then go to the surgical ward when they had a bed she didn't know how long I would be waiting to see a Dr we had already waited 7 hours . I was ill and I can't handle hospital I have had too many bad experiences in hospital my husband tried to explain on several occasions each time it fell on deaf ears.My experience on Sunday was awful and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
