The quality of care my family and I receive here is very good. From my personal experience, it has improved so much in the past couple of years. It used to be very difficult to get an appointment, and very difficult to see the same GP for any follow-up. Things fell through the cracks often.
The patient experience has gotten so much better for me. I’m not sure what changes they have made, but they really are working.
The receptionists are as flexible as they can be, and kind. I feel listened to by the GPs we have seen, and that I can easily book with the same GP. The childhood vaccination nurse is so lovely. I appreciate feeling that I will receive prompt and respectful care for any issues.
I’ve been coming to Islington Medical Centre for the past two years, and I’ve consistently had a great experience. Everyone is kind, helpful, and genuinely supportive.
It’s easy to complain about the NHS, but it’s just as important to recognise when things are working well. We often take public healthcare for granted, especially at a time when healthcare is becoming increasingly privatised in many countries, including England. That’s why I think it’s important to appreciate and cherish the excellent care and dedicated people we still have.
I attended the Roman Way practice ( now amalgamated with Islington Medical Centre) to see Dr Kanji for a routine check. He is professional, explains conditions clearly and never dismissive of questions. Most of all he is extremely knowledgeable and takes appropriate steps to follow up where necessary. Sharon in reception thoughtfully arranged that I see the nurse for my vaccination , immediately after the doctor’s appointment , instead of having to wait an hour.
Sister Grace Uguru was pleasant and explained the risks of my vaccination shots without raising undue anxiety. She is a thoroughly engaging nurse and attentive to her patients. I would recommend this practice without reservation.
Amazing GP!! My whole family attends this GP and it’s the best GP we have been too. Everyone that works there is amazing, very kind and helpful! From the receptionist to the doctors all amazing!

Very good GP practice overall. Highly responsive, helpful service, same day appointments are common. Had a misdiagnosis once but nothing too serious - generally assessments seem to be quite accurate otherwise. I am very happy that this is my local practice and hope this level of standard continues into the future. Much better than previous experiences I've dealt with in London!
Much easier to see a GP here than it used to be. The reception and management staff are helpful in getting you the help you need. I was advised to get an xray for a suspected fracture and then received follow up calls from the GP to make sure I had received treatment. Great work. Keep it up.
I am so grateful to all the staff - doctors, receptionists, nurses - of this GP surgery. I've been with them for more than 3 years, and this whole time I've been receiving an amazing care. The doctors always listen carefully and offer solutions, various tests and referrals, the nurses are very chill, confident and draw blood absolutely pain-free, the receptionists are so responsive - they solved the system issue with the paperwork before my blood test, going above and beyond. I had the pleasure of being treated at Islington Medical Practice, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. My primary dealings have been with Dr. Dawson, who exemplifies person-centered care. He actively listens and always follows through on referrals and follow-up appointments, ensuring that I feel supported throughout my healthcare journey.
After previously being registered with another practice south of the borough, which was quite the opposite experience, stepping into Islington Medical Practice felt like a breath of fresh air.
The atmosphere here is welcoming, in stark contrast to my past experiences where the practice felt rather depressing, and the reception staff were neither friendly nor welcoming.
At Islington, I have always felt valued; they respond promptly when I complete consultations online. The level of care and attention I have received has truly made a difference.
