I have always received excellent service from the team at Hall Green Health. The doctors and reception staff have always been professional, caring, and helpful.
I have never had any issues getting an appointment, and I feel the medical staff take time to listen to concerns and explain treatment clearly. I’ve felt supported and treated with respect during every visit.
The on site chemist allows you to get your prescription straight after your appointment, which is very convenient when you are not feeling well.
I would highly recommend this GP practice, I think it is one of the best in my local area.
Out of the 4 experiences I have had at this surgery, only 1 has been positive. I have attended for both myself and my child, and unfortunately I have repeatedly left feeling dissatisfied with the care provided.
When my 1 year old was seen, the doctor struggled to take their temperature and asked me to try instead. He then appeared to rely on a website to check symptoms and medication before advising an OTC medicine that was only allowed for children aged 4 and over. The pharmacist refused to supply it, meaning I had to return to the surgery for a prescription. I would have expected a doctor to know what medication was appropriate for a child of that age.
For my own care, I pushed for blood tests because I felt something wasn’t right. Although the tests were arranged nobody discussed the results with me until I queried them myself. At the F2F appointment, the doctor dismissed my concerns repeatedly saying the results were normal and commenting that he was surprised the tests had even been requested. I left feeling that my symptoms had not been taken seriously.
Most recently, I attended for a review after my doctor requested I be seen before prescribing more antibiotics. I was seen by a physician who asked questions I had already answered in the online form, examined a painful area quite roughly and left twice to consult the GP. I was told my prescription would be ready within two hours but when I went to the pharmacy the following day (weekend) nothing had been sent. After contacting the surgery on Monday, I was told there had been a glitch affecting other patients. I would have expected the surgery to identify those affected and ensure prescriptions were issued promptly rather than patients discovering the problem themselves.
Overall, my experiences have been disappointing. These repeated experiences have left me with very little confidence in the care provided by this surgery.
While trying to book an appointment at the doctors, I was told that you have to now fill out a form and book an appointment online and when you try to book an appointment nothing comes up.
It’s absolutely useless this new system is!!! If your in pain or experiencing anything you’re better off calling 111 at least you’ll be able to speak to someone and be seen faster.
No wonder A&E is full of patients when you can’t even see your own GP. USELESS
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction following an appointment with Dr Hajra Shah yesterday.
I had specifically requested a female GP in order to discuss sensitive and personal health concerns. Unfortunately, the consultation did not meet an acceptable standard of care. Throughout the appointment, I felt that my concerns were not taken seriously. I was repeatedly interrupted while speaking and was not given the opportunity to fully explain my symptoms.
In addition, I found the doctor’s manner to be dismissive and, at times, unprofessional. Non-verbal behaviours, including apparent eye-rolling, made me feel uncomfortable and undermined my confidence in the consultation.
Of particular concern was the lack of appropriate clinical questioning. I was not asked key questions, such as how long I had been experiencing my symptoms. When I attempted to raise a more private issue, I was told “that’s normal, you’re almost 40” without any further exploration or assessment.
This experience has significantly affected my trust in the practice. Patients should feel listened to, respected, and supported, particularly when discussing sensitive matters. Regrettably, this was not the case during my appointment.
I would urge the practice to review this matter seriously to ensure that patient concerns are handled with the professionalism, empathy, and thoroughness expected within primary care.
Hall Green Health is, without doubt, one of the worst GP practices I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.
From rude and dismissive receptionists to GPs who seem completely uninterested in listening to patients, the entire experience feels like an exercise in frustration. Every interaction leaves you feeling like you are being processed through a system rather than treated as a human being. Empathy appears to be in desperately short supply.
The reception staff are often abrupt, unhelpful and at times seem to act as gatekeepers rather than facilitators of healthcare. Trying to get a straight answer is difficult enough, but being given contradictory information in the same conversation is beyond unacceptable. Patients should not have to argue simply to understand what options are available to them.
The attitude towards patients is what stands out most. Concerns are brushed aside, symptoms are not taken seriously, and there is little sense that anyone genuinely cares about achieving a positive outcome. As someone on a low income with a disability, I expected understanding and support. Instead, I was left feeling ignored and dismissed.
Even basic standards appear lacking. Having patient toilets repeatedly out of service is unacceptable, particularly in a healthcare setting. As someone with a disability, access to toilet facilities is essential, not optional. The apparent disregard for such a basic requirement sends a clear message about how little consideration is given to the needs and dignity of disabled patients.
I understand that NHS services are under pressure, but many GP practices manage to treat patients with dignity, respect and professionalism despite those challenges. Unfortunately, Hall Green Health has consistently failed to do so.
The receptionists especially are on a power trip and they treat many of the patients with contempt especially if they don't like the look of their face.
If you value being listened to, treated with respect, or receiving clear communication about your healthcare, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere if you have the option. My experience has been overwhelmingly negative, and I would not recommend this practice to family, friends, anyone looking for a GP surgery that puts patients first or even my worst enemy. This GP practice is awful and should be investigated.
I don't recommended this practice, you have to chase them to check what is going on with your prescription request, even my blood test been done and results came no action required my request been rejected , then I have to call to book appointment other the phone, then practice, send me a message doctor has to see me in person , they booking appointment time slot not convenient to me and rude person other the phone telling me she cant keep changes time for me due to my family, ( pick up children from school or take them swimming). Building is great but lack of good practice definitely is missing there, they only looked great then TV been there and record some patients what's more everything was going smooth no even patients been queuing by the reception desk . Practice has to be improved for sure and be for patients, so many times I have seen how elderly people struggle there and receptionist was telling them to go home and call to practice to make an appointment.
Every time they send me this email
Your request has been triaged by our duty doctor and further assessment has been recommended. Unfortunately, we don't have any available appointments at the moment.
Please contact 111 for an appointment. They may be able to book you into an Urgent Treatment Centre. Alternatively, you can contact a pharmacy for advice.
Even though I call the reception we need to wait in a queue,
