I would like to sincerely thank the entire Trauma and Orthopedics team for the incredible care I received during my stay.
It’s hard to put into words how grateful I am for the empathy, compassion, and professionalism shown by every member of staff. Everyone – nurses, support staff, cleaning team, and those providing meals – demonstrated genuine care, patience, and understanding. I felt not only physically cared for, but also mentally supported, which meant so much to me during difficult moments.
As a bedridden patient who required help with everyday activities, I could always count on a quick response and assistance. No matter the situation – whether it was pain, needing to use the toilet, or general help – I was never refused. Everything was done with kindness and great respect.
The ward is very clean and well maintained, and patients’ needs are clearly treated as a priority. It’s evident that despite the demanding work and long hours, the staff truly give their all.
A special thank you to Izzy – thank you so much, you know what for.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for your care and support.

These women are incredible! It’s been a long day at the BRI but they have been amazing! Taken my situation seriously when the male GPs didn’t, which resulted in me being here. They work so hard and are extremely happy and professional despite the running around they do and how hard they work. Thank you wonderful ladies yet again you are amazing! And I thank you for your care with me today x
Want to give a massive well done to all the staff they were really lovely! I unfortunately didn’t get the other staffs name but one of the nurses Millie who was one of the nurses that looked after my dad was really polite and very funny which made me feel at ease. To Millie and the other NHS staff thank you all for being a great team!!! ❤️
I don’t put 0 stars cause I can’t
Either they don’t have doctors or the people working are very lazy. They bc all someone and they’re not there, instead of calling the next one another 20min pass by.
I have 2nd degree burn that needs immediate care. Left waiting for god knows how many hours… the receptionist are rude and you just feel absolutely helpless
Worse care I’ve seen in my life, yu guys should learn from Spanish healthcare
What is really sad is that you can clearly see how no one cares it is quite shocking actually. Seriously, what do you do with your free time? Chilling? Everyone seems they’re walking around not doing much tbh
Worse receptionists I have ever seen in primary care. The audacity to hear a patient complaining (within reason because I am sorry? 2 doctors? Spend 1h per patient and making people wait 8h? Embarrassing) and them laughing at him. SO NOT ACCEPTABLE
Was sent home from A&E at 3am with an unstable broken heel. I was refused transport even after I'd explained that I had to get up 4 flights of stairs to get to my bedroom and there was no-one to help me at home. I was told they didn't have the blood thinners I was required to use and to 'drop by' to pick them up the following day. I was given crutches and told to watch YouTube videos and take paracetamol. I begged that doctor to help and he just left me sobbing in a room. I waited and waited for someone to come back but no-one came. I called out for help but no-one came.
After being rescued by another visitor as I spiralled to the ground, I managed to order an Uber. Once outside my house I had to crawl up the outside steps. I had to stand on my plaster to reach the keyhole. It took me over an hour to get from my gate to my kitchen and another 40 mins to get to my bedroom. I was in a lot of pain and shock. I have been having very frightening dreams and flashbacks to this awful and avoidable situation. I was left with zero help for several weeks until I had an operation to pin the 4 bits of heel back together. After the operation I was finally offered some help. All these people coming in to ask what I needed to help me at home. Not one of these people was aware that I'd been struggling on my own for the previous 3 weeks. I have what is considered a life changing injury and some pathetic little doctor thought I was just trying to get a free taxi home. I couldn't walk, I was in massive pain and expected to master going up 4 very steep and narrow flights of stairs on crutches.
Patient Transport (when they came to pick me up for a hosp appointment) were very upset and shocked as they couldn't imagine how I'd managed to get up the stairs on my own. They said how dangerous it was for me to do it as the risk of falling was so great. They struggled to get me down all the stairs and had to have 2 teams to get me back upstairs. They strongly recommended I make a complaint about this doctor. I am contacting PALS tomorrow to do exactly that.
Came with my sister who has very poor mobility and has had a blood clot and sepsis in the past. The first nurse told us well you should have gone to hengrove. That would have meant getting her there in one piece without her falling over and injuring herself again. Second nurse was lovely though and was very sweet to my sister and sent her for an x-ray . So hopefully she will recover soon.
I recently went to A&E due to severe chest pain and sickness that had been ongoing for four days. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and distressing.
After arriving, it took around 1.5 hours just to be seen for the initial assessment, and another 2 hours before my bloods were taken. Later, I was told that my blood sample had been lost, and they needed to take it again adding even more delay.
While I was waiting in the waiting room for my results, I suddenly began experiencing unbearable, sharp chest pain — the most intense pain I have ever felt. I couldn’t even stand up and was calling out for help, but no one came. My husband begged the receptionist for assistance, yet they refused to even look at me and said I had to wait until my results were ready.
As my pain grew worse, other patients in the waiting area started pleading with staff to help me because I was clearly in agony. It wasn’t until about 30 minutes later that someone finally came to check on me.
I was then hooked up to a drip with painkillers, but they took nearly an hour to start working. During this time, the nurses tried to take more blood, but my veins were weak because I hadn’t eaten or drunk anything, and I had already given blood multiple times. The process was painful and exhausting.
Once the pain subsided a bit, I was sent for a CT scan, and from that point things moved more quickly. However, despite all of this, they couldn’t find the cause of my pain. I was discharged with painkillers and told that the surgical specialist refused to see me because my scans and blood tests were “normal.”
Throughout my entire stay, I never saw a doctor only nurses. I left feeling dismissed, frustrated, and scared, with no real answers or reassurance about my condition.
This experience was incredibly traumatic, and I hope that in the future the hospital improves its communication, compassion, and response times especially when patients are in visible distress.
