My PA was fantastic, made me feel like a friend and a patient. Showed great concern that I was comfortable and relaxed, not anxious. explained everything she did and what i need to do after my visit. Didn’t know this place existed, I will definitely be going back.
I was pleased to find this urgent care center, which allowed me to schedule an appointment online. The time available worked for my schedule and the clinic was able to get me in right on time. I was treated professionally, and thoroughly enough given the limited nature of my concern, however, they required me to download (another) app to get results and refused to send my records to my PCP. I offered to sign disclosures, but despite presenting themselves as a tech forward practice they simply directed me to a phone number(really, a phone number?) where I was supposed to go to request records. Unfortunately, the phone number directed me to an email box that was unable to take my message; which I couldn’t leave anyway, because of the HIPAA limited nature of my request. So rather than taking advantage of the good product they have, they are not integrating with a health system and I will likely have to repeat my visit with my PCP in two weeks.
Possibly the best urgent care I’ve been to in the country. Had to visit twice while in town on business, and never once a long wait. Efficient and friendly check-in and front desk staff, clean facilities, and every single provider I saw and talked to was professional, attentive, thorough, INCREDIBLY knowledgeable, and respectful. Felt heard and cared for, big shout out and thank you to this staff!
One tip: if prescribed medication, ask them if they can send it to the pharmacy directly. If you’re on any kind of time crunch for pharmacy hours or Rx pickup after, their automated Rx-sending system (while convenient on paper) can take several hours to get your Rx to the pharmacy.
Wait time to get in was maybe 10-15 mins with only 1 other person in the waiting room at a time, if that. The front staff person was very nice, warm, and helpful. The intake nurse? Was the opposite - cold, distant, maybe having a shitty day/time in life… which was challenging but I was willing to offer grace. Took my measurements and then brought me to another room to wait for the doc. Then the doctor introduced himself and left again. Then the nurse returns with the instruments needed to do an ear canal irrigation; a procedure I would assume is taught with the reminder that the ear canal is sensitive, yet the nurse proceeded to shoot water in my ear like they were trying to kill the wax while removing it. I cringed, shrieked, and the nurse stopped and said “it’s not supposed to feel good”. I said “it’s never hurt before when I’ve done it at home” and they left to get the doctor. Doc did the thing correctly - not too much pressure and consulting with me along the way. Altogether it took maybe 1hr although the actual treatment was maybe 10 mins max.
I have been here twice and both experiences were concerning. I gave it a second chance because I was in a bind, and also was thinking I had an unusual experience my first time given all the good reviews on here. But both times I came I was ultimately treated with disrespect, overcharged and given treatments that had nothing to do with the symptoms I was presenting.
I visited in December with stomach flu and dehydration symptoms. I was up front about this with both the receptionist and a nurse when I checked in. They made me pay my copay first before admitting me to “run a test”. They left me in a room for several minutes, and came back and announced “good news! You’re not pregnant!” I reminded them I had come in to be tested for dehydration and they lectured me that dehydration “is an ER issue” and that I “should never visit an urgent care for that” and made me see myself out without offering a refund. I asked for discharge papers to show my workplace and they diagnosed me with “giddiness” - combined with the secret pregnancy test, this is possibly the most sexist thing I’ve ever experienced in a medical environment. I later fainted and ended up in the ER because I DID have dehydration.
I really did not want to come back, but did this past week with a severe sinus infection that was moving into my chest and causing issues with my asthma. It was my most reasonable option due to the time I needed help. The building was plastered with signage about how antibiotics are almost never the answer. I was worried that if I needed one, they still wouldn’t give it to me; and that’s exactly what happened in the end. The doctor asked if my seasonal allergies felt like this and I told her no, they have never even felt close to the symptoms I had. She ultimately decided to diagnose me with seasonal allergies anyway. She told me to take over the counter allergy meds and sleep it off - despite the fact I told them that was what I’d been doing for a week and it did nothing. In the middle of my visit the doctor asked me whether I was comfortable receiving such a large bill (prompted by me asking for a Covid test) and it was then revealed to me that the receptionist had put my insurance in as a second preference, and self pay as first. I had been there over an hour by then, mostly just sitting in a room alone. I had several symptoms blatantly ignored or dismissed and had been given the impression they only cared about my money, not my well being at all. I told them to charge to my insurance as first choice and took the nonsensical diagnosis of allergies. They gave me no care summary paperwork afterwards and it was never entered into my online portal.
I continued to get sicker, so I went to a different urgent care the next day. They were extremely concerned about my symptoms and appalled by the way I was treated here, and helped me appropriately.
My visit went well after I got pass the receptionist. She had an attitude rolled eyes mouthy. As for the nurse amazing 100 stars as well as the doctor who treated me great service outside of the desk clerk who was on the phone trying to reach the tax people about her taxes. Service was fast as well as efficient.
It started with the gentleman doing my intake jabbing the underside of my tongue with the thermometer. When he was taking my history, I mentioned my family having medication allergies and his response was “we’re talking about you”. When asking about any history of high blood pressure, diabetes, etc; I replied “no” and he looked me up and down. For reference, I am fat but outside of that have good overall health. Then when asking about surgical history I told him and he asked what, so I repeated myself and he then asked “what part of the body is that”. After that, I was seen by the PA. She felt my sinuses, my lymph nodes, and listened to my breathing. Then declared whatever I have is viral. No testing for flu, covid, etc. She recommended I purchase behind the counter psudafed and affrin nasal spray. I then explained that due to my disability, I am unable to breathe through my nose so nasal sprays do not work. She then recommended a neti pot, to which I explained the same disability prevents those from working as well. She then circled back and recommended the psudafed and Flonase, a different nasal spray. She did say that if at day 10 I still wasn’t feeling well, to come back, but I was already on day 4 when I went in. Overall, I felt unheard and that my concerns were ignored.
I was so excited to try this place. I went into this place for routine testing and no one could take my blood. They ended up giving me a slip to go to Quest Diagnostics. One nurse mentioned being uncomfortable trying after the first nurse couldn’t do it. I’ve never been to a hospital where no one could take my blood. Then they made mewait 20 minutes for a doctor although none of their nurses could take my blood. Why would I still have to wait for a doctor to talk to me if you all can’t help me? This shouldn’t be charged as a visit.
