I had absolutely the BEST experience at Right Step. The RAs are amazing, especially Jasmine, Kat, Sara, and Brandy. Also big. Shout outs to Ms.Lillian, and Clay for making my PHP experience awesome. Ms.Jessica is also awesome and when she talks you definitely will listen! For the most part the only complaint I have is that my counselor was not very helpful to me at all and she was very very rude to me most of the time there. Despite that, I loved enjoyed my time at Right Step . The food, was for the most part, really good for rehab food 😝 I met some pretty amazing group of women there and some of them have turned out to be really great friends now. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to get help and get sober.
Man let me tell you I have been to many treatment centers all over Texas and none offered the care I recieved at right step. I was able to get stable on my medication and get my life back. The techs were awesome especially ms.tasha ms Liz and ms.jaz and Ms. Kay Kay mr Doug on the night shift helped me thru some rough ass time. I was able to pull up on them and chop it up with them about anything going on. I was able to see a psychiatrist weekly and express my concerns. I started mat treatment and I can honestly say that I will never put a needle in my arm again.ms Jessica the alumni coordinator kept me connected with my resources. My therapist ms.nikki helped me become a man again I got my life back. Ms. Lillian found me housing for six months to a Year. Everyone here has done there part and I'm going to be sad when I leave here cause this became my family. If you want your life back . Come here. No where else. I promise you will have a purpose in life . It ain't hard just show up. You will feel at home.

From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with warmth and genuine care. Ms. Raye was the very first face I saw—her friendly, kind, and welcoming energy immediately put me at ease during a time when I needed it most. That first impression meant everything.
The admissions process was smooth and professional thanks to Ms Rita, the admissions director, and Mr. Nate, who made sure everything was handled with care and respect.
I also want to give a huge shoutout to my counselor, Geoffrey, who went above and beyond. His guidance, patience, and real understanding made a major impact on my journey. Ms. Jessica, the alumni counselor, also deserves recognition for continuing to support people even after they leave—she genuinely cares.
Ms. Lillian played a huge role by helping me get into a sober living when I exited The Right Step. She didn’t just handle logistics—she gave me a real path forward, and that kind of support is priceless.
The entire medical staff is top-notch—professional, attentive, and always there when you need them. The behavioral tech staff are the backbone of the day-to-day experience, and I especially want to recognize Mr. Kelly, Mr. Doug, Ms. Michelle, and the awesome Ms. Sarah. I wish I could name every single tech because each one played a part in my healing.
The kitchen staff kept us well-fed with quality meals, and even the janitorial staff deserves credit for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Every single person here contributes to the healing process.
This place isn’t just a facility—it’s a community. A place where people actually care, where you’re treated with dignity, and where real change happens. I’m forever grateful for every person I met on this journey. If you’re serious about getting better, this is where you want to be.
If you’re searching for recovery and a way out of your drug addiction, I highly recommend this place. It changed my life once again. I was there in 2020 and then returned again in 2026 after I had relapsed. This is a very good recovery based program and it works great for those who are really seeking away out of drug addiction. My experience at the Houston Right step for PHP was absolutely amazing I myself had some issues with some clients due to my gender identity but that didn’t stop me from working my program. From the moment I entered the program everyone was polite, caring, respectful and supportive both constructively and professionally. Did I get overwhelmed and frustrated at times yes absolutely but I used my coping mechanism and stayed focused and achieved everything that I needed to achieve. I recommend The Right Step to everyone. When I had issues staff listened and understood. Even when I got upset and lashed out on the staff my last couple days because I was stressed but I did apologize for that behavior.
The right step was definitely the right step for me. It was comfortable and very structured. It made the start to my recovery very pleasant, and gave me tools to help me navigate life better than I knew I could. The admin Donna Jones was wonderful from my first day in September, until I left today. She only wanted the best for me and she told me so from the time she met me.The janitors kept it very clean and smelling fresh every day. The cooks Ms. Mary, Mr Jarvis and the Tony's new how to throw down, they never missed me and were very pleasant. The counselors were amazing especially mine Ms Lillian, she showed that she cared for me very much and only wanted the best for me. She allowed me to make my own decisions towards my recovery, and she showed how very proud of me she was by presenting me with the strength medal. She very rarely give medals out, thank you Ms Lillian. She wasn't ashamed to share her life story and what she had been thru and still going thru. She showed us that recovery is forever, because life will throw us curve balls no matter how long we've been in recovery, and how to handle it one at a time. The techs and nurses kept the structure no matter what the patient's tried to do to sway them. Hats off to Mr Kelly for all what he goes thru by standing his ground. I loved all the techs, Tiana, Taye,Val,Makayla, Jasmine,Nikki just to name a few they were all wonderful. Mrs Rebecca had unbelievable patience and I commend her on her strength. Mr Clay listened to me intently and gave me the most sound advice. The director Ms Daralynn is absolutely wonderful,she took time out of her very busy schedule to sit down and talk to me heart to heart, what she said made a very big impact on me to give me the boost, I didn't know i needed to make the right decision, thank you. If I missed anyone just know you all played a very important part in making me who I am today and letting me know recovery is very possible... thank you very very much
This place is a joke! I had a very traumatized experience at this facility. I arrived seeking treatment and support, but my intake was never completed. Instead, the nurse I was asked to leave the property around 3:00 a.m. and was left without assistance or safe discharge planning. The intake nurse refused to conduct my intake process, and as a result, I was left without care or a plan. This lack of follow-through at a critical time left me stranded and without support! This place needs to be shut down!
Staff from clinical to the techs is top notch. Provide excellent care and encouragement. If seeking treatment I highly recommend this place. The staff really cares here.
