I had a very pleasant experience with this office. Everyone from reception to the Dr. Herself was very polite, and accommodating. I had a tooth extraction and theyade every effort to ensure the process was as painless as possible. They were also very quick. I had had extractions before with other offices that damaged surrounding teeth but these ladies were fast, efficient, and worked with me financially. Highly recommend

Dr. Kim was amazing. I called at 8:00 a.m. with severe tooth pain, and the team was able to get me in the same day. Dr. Kim and the staff were professional, caring, and made me feel much better. I truly appreciate their prompt service and highly recommend them.

Dr. Kim and his office staff were so amazing and attentive to Mom♡♡ Dr. Kim was wonderful and took the time to explain the whole tooth extraction process. This helped relieve some of our stress from the situation. We knew Mom was in great hands!!👍

I recently brought my mother to Rio Dental for a tooth extraction. Because she has dementia and can become very vocal when in pain, I am always highly protective and on guard during her medical visits. However, I was completely blown away by the exceptional care we received. The staff treated my mother with the kind of empathy you would reserve for your own family. Seeing one team member hold her hand during the injections, while another brought her a blanket after overhearing her mention she was cold, truly touched my heart. These are the meaningful, compassionate gestures that so many medical offices have forgotten. The dentist was equally incredible—patient, thorough in his explanations, and always speaking in a gentle, reassuring tone. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone at the Hillcrest location. You have earned my highest appreciation. G. Antu

Love this place, staff was so friendly. They also make it so easy for you to do your financial planning. The doctor holy moly she was an amazing doctor. She took my wisdom tooth out quickly. All I can say is that the staff is amazing definitely recommend them to anyone I went to the Culebra and 1604 location.

Staff is super friendly and helpful to get you the services you need. What started off as a tooth ache turned in to getting 2 teeth extracted. I absolutely hate going to the dentist but Dr Kim and Naomi made me feel sooooo comfortable. Id definitely go back.

From the first phone call I was very very satisfied. They went above and beyond to show me Compassion as I had to have Radiation and It messed up my teeth. I was very sad and embarrassed, but everyone at Rio Dental were so understanding, and they made me feel less self conscious. Highly Highly recommended!

5/5 A+. I have to admit I wish my wait time was longer. Dr. Iqbal may be a doctor, but she is probably also one of the best project managers I have seen in San Antonio. I arrived today after calling at open about severe tooth pain and financial anxiety. I went home today with the beginnings of a root canal procedure, surprisingly acceptable burden to my wallet, and peace of mind. Mind you, I am uninsured and paying out of pocket. As someone with training in project/business management as well, I also paid attention to the carefully balanced juggling act that the team was undergoing to triage the large influx of patients that arrived alongside me today as well. I could honestly say I wish Dr. Iqbal had more time to do strictly leadership training/mentorship as well; I’ve never seen someone in San Antonio care so much about the quality and efficiency of their operation, their team and their patients with just training-video-perfect leadership as I’ve seen here. My short visit here was admittedly more educational than my business classes. As for the nitty gritty detail you are likely reading reviews for: They are extremely resourceful at finding you the best financing options possible — other dentistry practices may push more predatory financing and “memberships” which I’ve learned to avoid, but with Rio Dental Emergency, they are primed to have the right variety of lenders available to explore multiple payment options for you, specifically. Important, because dentistry is never cheap and “emergency care budgets” are often less than ideal, on average, however being temporarily strapped of cash will not be a bottleneck at this clinic. Do not let your budget discourage you to come here, unlike with other dentistry practices. Dr. Iqbal and her team also pay attention very well to their patients! Bear in mind that they are an emergency / walk-in clinic — treatment is very fast paced. If you experience pain, please be mindful to speak up — they 100% absolutely do value your comfort. That said, they are also balancing you and every other dental emergency — the team here are constantly engaged in “firefighting” at times and putting in 110% effort/ metaphorical “blood, sweat and tears.” For the “bite the bullet” and “rip off the band-aid” crowd — if you just want to get dental care done and over with, this is certainly the dental practice to go to. Yes, they absolutely do have excellent local anesthesia as well as sedation options; if you need more before they continue to proceed, just be mindful to say so. As much as they are rapidly working, they WILL RESPECT YOUR PACE; don’t be off-set or intimidated. If you need to breathe, need more anesthesia, etc, you as the patient are still in control of the pace — they will remind you of this as well. Communicate your limits if you start to hit any pain of threshold; you are entitled to take a break and more local anesthesia. Efficiency aside, the team are very experienced at what they do, and they do it well. Expect to get good dental care here. Don’t expect it to be a spa day — it is an 𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺 dental clinic. They take one of the worst forms of misery and get it resolved as quickly and as efficiently — for YOU — as possible. I have follow-up appointments to finish a root canal on my tooth. Oddly enough, I kind of look forward to it. I fully intend to stick with this dentistry office going forward for other future dental procedures as well. The dual pairing of quality and no-corners-cut efficiency is just downright rare in any business, but this place has it. My visit here was an unintentional 2-for-1 root canal and leadership observation course. I don’t remember the last time I was as impressed as I was by how truly caring, efficient, and properly orchestrated an operation could be as I was today, and so far, Dr. Iqbal is doing wonderfully to take care of my bad tooth as quickly as possible. Overall, this dentistry clinic is exceptionally competent and likewise just as compassionate. I would highly recommend a visit here to anyone that needs it, regardless of budget.
