From scheduling my appointment to the day of my Mohs surgery, my experience with Phoenix Surgical Dermatology Group was exceptional.
The scheduling team was friendly, organized, and incredibly helpful. Before my appointment, I received detailed emails explaining the procedure, what to expect, and information about the facility. By the time I arrived, I felt informed and prepared.
My consultation with Dr. Ramin Fathi was thorough, reassuring, and easy to understand. He took the time to answer my questions and explain exactly what would happen. On the day of surgery, the entire team worked seamlessly together. Everyone was attentive, compassionate, and made what could have been a stressful experience feel comfortable.
Before beginning, Dr. Fathi carefully marked my face, down my forehead through my eyebrow line and down by my eye so I could see exactly where the incision would be. I really appreciated that because there were no surprises. Even better, he was able to completely remove the cancer in the initial stage of the Mohs procedure without requiring additional tissue removal.
When he finished, I was amazed by how clean and precise the sutures looked. As mentioned the incision runs along my lower eyebrow and toward the corner of my eye an area where both function and appearance matter. The closure was meticulous, with virtually no redness or irritation.
The recovery has been far easier than I expected. I was a little sore the day of surgery, but a couple of ibuprofen took care of it. When I removed my compression bandage, there was no blood on the gauze, minimal redness, and very little tenderness. I do have swelling and some beautiful “rainbow” bruising, but that’s exactly what I was told to expected for this type of procedure.
Choosing the right Mohs surgeon for my face was incredibly important to me. I wanted someone who was truly an expert in their field, and I genuinely believe I made the right choice with Dr. Fathi. His skill, precision, professionalism, and the outstanding care from his entire team exceeded my expectations. I would recommend Dr. Fathi and Phoenix Surgical Dermatology Group without hesitation to anyone needing Mohs surgery or dermatologic care.
After a last minute appointment for a biopsy was done by my Dermatologist in Hawaii. I was informed that I may need Further treatment. Unfortunately I was on a business trip, therefore not able to return to Hawaii. I was referred to Phoenix Surgical Dermatology Group.
With no prior doctor patient relationship, I expected the process to difficult. I could not have been more incorrect.
The Process getting a first exam follow ed by a Mohs procedure was so prompt and professionally handled I can barely describe it.
The whole team went into overdrive to assist me. They got me in in less than a week. I had an initial exam followed by a procedure done on a Monday and the next day, Tuesday.
The staff contacted my Doctor in Hawaii. Arranged for the Lab report to be forwarded to Phoenix Surgical Dermatology Group. I arrived Monday to a fully engaged and professional team. I didn't have to do anything except fill out the usual forms. Which were on a tablet and went quickly.
Dr. Fathi was available immediately. He was very informative. Shoes me every step. Dr. Fathi explained his pre and post procedure process.
I left my first exam feeling I was in very qualified and professional hands
The following day my procedure was done quickly and everyone in the group was attentive and professional. After the Procedure the team explained all the steps I would need to follow for safe healing
I feel very well taken care of by a group of professionals who I had never met before Monday.
The staff contacted me Tuesday afternoon to check on my condition and asked me to contact them if I had any questions or issues.
I don't believe I have ever been assisted so promptly and professionally.
Dr. Fathi has very high qualifications. He has stellar credentials. But beyond that. Dr. Fathi has a stellar team of very empathetic and efficient professionals

I had my first appointment yesterday with Colleen Luna. I was so impressed with her knowledge of what she was talking about as she examined me and her bedside manners were calming which helped make me feel comfortable in her presence. She was truly professional and I look forward to seeing her again. The staff was also incredible. Yes, I will go back.
