The time and care taken by the staff of Lincoln Health and Hospital was tremendous in saving my life. The vascular doctors and their teammates the nurses, dietary staff and even environmental all assisted with my care and allowed for me to keep going to reach that finish line. God is with me I’m in recuperation and moving forward, and will always be grateful. Thank you!

This review is specifically for the Lincoln Hospital ER. I brought my best friend to the ER at Lincoln in December 2025 because I'd brought myself there twice in the past when I had urgent medical needs ...and one was life threatening. And so based on my own previous and positive experiences, I brought my friend to Lincoln when he had a medical emergency because I trusted the place. Unfortunately, things did not go well at the Lincoln ER for my friend. He was admitted, and we waited inside the ER for medical attention - but were essentially ignored by staff. Evidently, the ER was extremely busy because of a flu epidemic. My friend had a blockage in his urethra and couldn't pee (for hours) and he was already in pain when we arrived at the ER. 90 minutes later it was getting worse and we still had not been seen...we were just left sitting inside the ER and no one was attending to my friend. Finally, I approached the nurses desk and pleaded with the guy seated there, explaining my friend's symptoms (urinary blockage is considered serious). I said we'd been waiting there for more than 1 hour and would the nurse (or employee) on duty tell me when my friend would be seen ? I explained that my friend was in a lot pain and that I'd have to take him elsewhere if they weren't going to see him within next few minutes. The guy at the desk said he had "no idea" when they'd get to us and that if we felt like going elsewhere it was "up to you." I was aghast! Fortunately, someone who was evidently more senior than the mean dude I spoke with - and a real nurse to boot- had overheard the conversation and then approached me directly; I led her to my friend - and from there he finally received the care that he needed. The experience left me feeling uncertain about Lincoln Hospital's ER. Even though it's the hospital nearest to where I live in the Bronx, I don't want to rely on their ER again-at least not as a first choice- instead I will plan to visit the next nearest ER, which is Lenox Hill in Manhattan. I didn't worry before about receiving substandard medical care in the Bronx - but now I do worry. And so I no longer have confidence in the Lincoln ER -and as need arises - and I have the luxury of time, I'll try to go elsewhere. That's why you should use the Lincoln ER only if you must. A word to the wise.

If I could give Lincoln Hospital zero stars, I absolutely would. My fiancé is currently having an asthma attack. He had to leave work because he was struggling to breathe, and he just used the last of his liquid asthma medication. He called Lincoln Hospital to find out how he could get a refill or where he needed to go since he was actively dealing with a medical emergency. Instead of receiving compassion or even basic professionalism, he was met with one of the rudest employees I’ve ever heard. She told him they haven’t prescribed that medication there since 2024 and that they don’t do it anymore. When he simply asked where he was supposed to go or who he should contact instead, she refused to help, gave him no guidance whatsoever, and hung up on him while he was still trying to speak—even though he was literally in the middle of an asthma attack. That level of disrespect is unacceptable anywhere, but it’s especially unacceptable coming from a hospital. People call hospitals because they’re scared, sick, and need help. Even if you can’t provide a specific service anymore, the least your staff can do is treat patients with basic human decency and point them in the right direction instead of dismissing them and hanging up. Lincoln Hospital seriously needs to do a better job hiring and training employees. No one seeking medical help should ever be treated this way. The lack of empathy and professionalism we experienced today was disgusting and completely unacceptable. Do better.

I want to sincerely thank the ICU team at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx for the incredible care they gave my family member during such a difficult time. Special thanks to nurses Jennifer and Ana, who treated him with so much compassion, dignity, respect, and professionalism while he was in a coma. They were attentive day and night, and their kindness meant so much to our family. I also want to thank the doctors for their professionalism and support, and Simona from palliative care for being so empathetic, caring, and human during this painful experience. Although my family member passed away, the care and humanity we received brought comfort to us during one of the hardest moments of our lives. We are deeply grateful.

This was the worst day of my life. I had one of the most traumatic and unacceptable experiences I have ever had at a hospital. I genuinely felt that my life was put at risk due to discrimination, and I believe I was neglected because of the color of my skin. Thankfully, I made the decision to leave and received proper medical care at another facility. If you are African American or Hispanic, I strongly urge you to be extremely cautious about seeking care here. I did not feel safe, respected, or properly treated at any point during my visit. During my time at this hospital, I was also threatened and verbally harassed by a police officer inside the facility. The officer acted in a completely unethical, abusive, and unprofessional manner. He used profanity, made discriminatory remarks, and attempted to provoke a confrontation instead of de-escalating the situation. His behavior was intimidating, hostile, and entirely inappropriate for anyone wearing an NYPD uniform. I was unable to obtain his badge number, although I did manage to take a photo of him. Both hospital staff and the officer told me I was not allowed to record, claiming it was against hospital policy. In addition, an IV was placed incorrectly in my arm, causing significant pain and bleeding. The plastic tip was improperly left inside my skin. I was not allowed to take photos or videos of the injury. When I attempted to leave the hospital, I was told I could not do so until the IV was removed. I became extremely distressed and felt trapped, to the point where I threatened to remove it myself. This entire experience reflects a complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic human decency. The conduct displayed by both hospital staff and the police officer shows a serious disregard for patient safety, NYPD ethics, and public trust. Behavior like this has no place in a hospital or in law enforcement. Officers who abuse their authority and harass civilians, especially vulnerable patients, should be thoroughly investigated and removed from duty immediately. No one should ever be treated this way while seeking medical care.

Honest Review of Lincoln Hospital – June 2025 This is, without question, the worst hospital I’ve ever been to — and I’ve been familiar with Lincoln since the 1990s. Shockingly, nothing has improved over the years. In fact, it has only gotten worse. It’s 2025, and this facility either needs to be shut down completely or undergo a full renovation and overhaul of its operations. The conditions are disgraceful. The bathrooms were absolutely filthy — I witnessed feces smeared on toilet seats, and there seemed to be no sign of the cleaning staff actually doing their jobs. Many bathrooms were out of service, forcing patients to walk long distances to other wings just to use a restroom. The hospital is dangerously understaffed and feels unsafe. People who clearly aren’t patients — including individuals sleeping in patient chairs or walking around erratically — are left unattended. Where is the security? No one is managing who comes in or out, and it’s deeply unsettling for patients who are already vulnerable. Hygiene protocols are nonexistent. I was placed next to a woman who was continuously coughing with no mask, openly spreading germs. There was no attempt to separate or protect patients from potential infections like COVID or other respiratory illnesses. I arrived at 7:20 AM with a sprained foot and was shuffled from section to section three times with no clear communication or progress. For anyone in pain, this is a nightmare scenario — and unfortunately, it seems to be standard at Lincoln. This hospital needs major reform. I’m writing this not just out of frustration, but in the hope that someone in a position of authority takes action. Patients deserve dignity, safety, cleanliness, and timely care — none of which I experienced here.

I don’t mean to come off rude but Lincoln will always be Lincoln. They’ve renovated and changed some things over the years but it’s still a mess there. Unsanitary waiting areas, unethical and unprofessional MD’s, PA’s, RN’s etc,., I had to get my blood drawn and I mentioned that I would like some privacy while doing so and suggest the RN close the curtain if she wouldn’t at least close the door. Is privacy not a thing anymore ? Also, as I’m sitting to get my vitals checked the Nurse is eating an orange in between everything that’s she does and leave the orange peel at the station. 🤯

Absolutely superb service in every regard, the staff is methodically equipped for time, place, and purpose, and the equipment is second to none. I boast about my top of the line mammogram machine and encourage everyone I know to choose Lincoln for service, because we are still "The Best Kept Secret in the Bronx," heck in NYC, if not the entire US.
