As part of my ongoing commitment to health, wellness, and longevity, I spent time receiving preventive maintenance through the outstanding healthcare professionals at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center, a member of the Memorial Hermann Health System.
Just as a luxury foreign automobile requires routine inspections, maintenance, and expert attention to continue performing at its highest level, the human body deserves the same care and respect. Preventive maintenance is something everyone should practice, regardless of age or circumstance, because investing in health today helps protect quality of life tomorrow.
During this chapter of my journey, I was supported by an exceptional team of physicians, nurses, specialists, therapists, dietitians, and healthcare professionals. I am especially grateful for the cardiovascular team, whose expertise, innovation, and commitment to patient care have helped establish Memorial Hermann as one of the most respected healthcare systems in the region and a destination for advanced cardiovascular medicine.
Equally important was the continued emphasis on nutrition, discipline, and healthy living. The healthcare team reinforced the value of maintaining a strict dietary plan and healthy lifestyle habits that support long-term wellness. Their guidance has helped me maintain my health, energy, vitality, and youthful outlook while continuing to move forward on my journey.
This experience also reinforced the importance of having quality health insurance and access to excellent healthcare providers. Probably one of the worst ER experiences yet. I was in Houston from out of town by myself for a funeral. I ended up getting the worst headache I have ever had followed up with unstoppable vomiting. The hotel I was staying at had drove me to the closest ER which happened to be this place. Barely coherent and unable to lift my head, while barely sitting in a wheelchair, I was asked a few questions, kind of looked at and then determined I had a Migraine and was administered a Migraine Cocktail and went unconscious. Not sure how much longer later I woke up hunched over in a waiting room chair of an ER Hallway with an IV in my arm and the bag was hung on a coat hook on the back of the wall. How I did not fall out of the chair onto the floor is perplexing to me. I had three people come over and register me at three different times but did not see a nurse. After about an hour of trying to figure out what was going on I decided that this was not the place for me and preceded to take my IV and let them know I was leaving. I did not really get any pushback for that which was fine for me but a little disturbing had I been a different case. While I am thankful that the cocktail stopped the icepick from stabbing my brain it would have been nice if they would have at least laid my unconscious self in a gurney or cot. Being alone in a city I was unfamiliar with this was a pretty frightening experience. I am sure with FIFA the ER was busy but upon leaving I did see open rooms with cots. Maybe they were holding them for potential worse cases that could have come in but still unconscious girl hanging off a chair about to fall in the floor, seems like I might have been a fit for the lay down area. All in all if you have any other option to go anywhere else other than here take it.
Hello! I went to the Emergency Room the other day and was treated great by the nurses-they were kind, patient, and extremely understanding.
Unfortunately Dr.Washington definitely dismissed my feelings about my knee as well as my back. He was nice and had a smile but at the same time was telling me nothing is wrong with my knee and back because he couldn't visually see something wrong with it which made me feel a type of way and like he was dismissing my feelings and me being hurt. I understand we all are tired, I also had to wait 8 hours till I was checked at 3 in the morning so I was extremely exhausted as well but there definitely should be a better way to approach. I also understand l am on the younger side, 20 years old, but again I believe all patients should be treated with care and not talked to carelessly like Dr. Washington did. That's what was really made my visit unfortunate.: (But again great nurses, I would definitely come back for them!
I was recently admitted to Memorial Hermann Memorial City for three nights following a referral from Kelsey-Seybold for a high fever, chill and severe pain. The entire process—from check-in to being settled into my room 5E43 — was very smooth and speedy. Most importantly, the care team of doctors, nurses, and techs was wonderful. My condition stabilized steadily, and I’ve since been discharged to continue my recovery at home. I want to give a special thanks to the nursing staffs for their exceptional care. The dinning room service is also good, hot meals were consistently delivered within 30-45m. I highly recommend this facility.
This is an excellent hospital with top notch doctors. Even though I live in Cypress...I still go back to Memorial City to see my doctors there and when I have an Emergency and think I will be admitted to the hospital, I return to Memorial City so that I can have my doctors treat me and not have unknown doctors take care of me. I have been going to Memorial City for over 20 years when I first started getting treated for my cancer in 2005. The doctors there saved my life and are the best. Texas oncology is there and they have the best cancer team. Dr. Todd Price is there and he is the best Infectious Disease Specialist. They have some of the best know doctors in Houston at Memorial City.
I was in this hospital for 2 days for Labor & Delivery. They have some great nurses such as Corey, Nancy & Jill. They truly were AMAZING human beings. They made my delivery much easier. Also, Dr. Younes was INCREDIBLY nice and helpful and professional. She truly is the best doctor I have ever met.
On the other hand, once I delivered and the epidural effect started to wear off, I was at the mercy of a nurse named Deb. She completely mistreated me. She wouldnt even give me her hand to get up and use the restroom. I asked her to please hand me my purse to take medicine (stool softener because I was really struggling to use the restroom, I was in PAIN) and she said : oh you could get it later. She could see that I am not able to walk or sit on the toilet and she would REFUSE to give me her hand. As I was struggling to use the restroom and crying, as I was living the worst moment of my entire life, she told me : “my mom pushed me at 9 lbs, I am sure she did tear as well.” And she was saying this in like a chatty way, as if we were just talking.. while I literally was shaking.
Then, she left me in the restroom and left the room. She came back 15min later to find me sobbing by myself in the room and she said : whats the matter? As if she doesn’t know that I am in terrible pain and completely by myself.
Later, my husband finally was able to come and help me and when she saw him trying to help me get back to the hospital bed as I was in terrible pain, she said : oh you guys are so cute!! i am going to cry!!!
I genuinely think that she should not be in charge of taking care of new borns or freshly postpartum patients as she clearly lacks empathy and compassion. I will never ever forget how she treated me and I hope she will experience the same thing someday so she can see how it feels to be completely vulnerable and be rejected help from your nurse.
Aside from this, the hospital staff was great!!
They were so great for the birthing process! The doctors were so caring and attentive. If I could rate for that part it would definitely be 5 stars!!! Also the food was great!
After the birth, is when the pediatrician and the lactation consultant made the stay horrible. The lactation consultant said absolutely nothing to me when I asked for help pumping. I asked for supplies to help pick the right sizing and she just handed me one of every size and walked away. The pediatrician did not like that I wasn’t breastfeeding either and wanted to keep my baby longer than me, to make sure things were ok. Baby and I were released and immediately upon coming home, I learned how to use a pump and baby was well fed the rest of the newborn life.
I’ve been coming to this hospital for many years. There’s an older lady with short hair at the front desk in the emergency room that speaks to you in a horrible tone as if she’s mad that you’re there. The drs in the emergency room have always been dismissive and it seems like they do their best to send you home. They don’t seem to care or hear you out. Once you’re moved to a room, the night shift is absolutely amazing! For whatever reason the day shift is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! They take forever to answer your call and when they do, they ALWAYS have an attitude. Then, they take their time to get to you. I don’t understand why but this happens literally every single time I’m there. They seriously need to do better. This is a hospital people are sick and going through things. There is absolutely no need to be treated like trash. If you don’t like what you do, find another job!!!!!!
Also, the food they give might as well be given to dogs. It is absolutely disgusting and many patients have complained. Something must have changed over the years because it was not like this. It used to be very good.
Memorial Herman you guys ask for feedback but don’t do anything to change and make things better. What’s the point of asking for feedback if things are not going to change? They have actually gotten worse over the years. You guys need to do better. The ONLY reason I come here is because my Dr practices here, NOT by choice.
