3/19/25: I had my annual breast MRI, something I’ve done yearly for the past 10 years. I even told the technicians I have had lots of experience with these and that I had 3 biopsies after my first MRI 10 years ago which led me to having those biopsies completed in an MRI machine which took over 2.5 hours. They knew I am very familiar with breast MRI’s. I got my IV and positioned in the machine and as soon as the first image started it felt like I was being cooked from the inside out. I made it through the first image but was scolded for moving my head. I replied and said I couldn’t breathe due to the heat and needed to come out. They took me out and proceeded to say “nobody else has ever complained of excessive heating”. I tried a second time and had to push the panic button as it felt like I was burning alive. The tech and tech in training took their time coming into get me (2+ minutes in response to a panic button!) and they were both extremely annoyed I had to come out again. My skin was beat red and purple and I was dripping in sweat. The tech asked me if I “was going through menopause”. I am in my mid 30’s and considered that an extremely inappropriate response to stating “it feels like I’m being cooked from the inside out”. I was an employee at the time and reported it to the appropriate channels and was very adamant they do not use the MRI machine on anyone else until they identified the issue. Lo and behold they continued to use the machine until “several others” reported “excessive heating”. I later found out it was an issue with the coils in the table. They decided not to take the machine out of service as per protocol that employees are taught during yearly mandated trainings and they continued to fry other patients. They also refused to answer what long term issues I may face from the thermal burns that I received to over half my body. It has taken me so long to post this as my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer a month later and they killed him with their medical negligence in 5 months! I do have written email communication of my MRI experience as well as documentation of the many errors made in my dad’s care, or lack there of. They even went ahead and deleted messages from his MyLoyola to remove documentation of errors which I have screenshots of. Coincidentally, that happened after my last phone call with the “regional director of patient experience” where I told her I had documentation they wanted to put my dad on the wrong chemo drugs. I followed all proper channels for reporting and even met with the president regarding my MRI as well as my dad’s biopsy never being sent out, and the follow up I was guaranteed I would received, never happened. I’m posting this review as I feel everyone should be fully aware of the treatment they’re signing up for at Loyola University Medical Center, and I was treated this way while I was an employee!

The issue I have when I call via phone for login assistance with My Chart I am routed to central scheduling every time. I provided a call backnumber and was still transferred again. My chart acknowledges my credentials and after entering a verification code their site automatically logs you out. Thinking about seeking physicians elsewhere if this issue is not resolved.

I’m deeply concerned with the level of care that my daughter is receiving as I will be a first time grandmother 💕 My daughter is currently receiving care at Loyola University Medical Center and she goes to the Loyola Women's outpatient center. I would appreciate any insight on Labor & Delivery!!’ I will be traveling there soon for the birth of my first grandchild. I would appreciate helpful feedback. Thank you !!!

If waiting with 45 other people scheduled at the same time is your thing, this is the place. The thing that runs the kidney folk, Ai I'm guessing, needs a reprogram. Thanks for the reply. Had talked with your "emily". Said it was sorry. And it will NEVER happen again. I asked for its last name and for that to be put in writing. It said no. Then talked to your "Rick" in cs, who also said it has no last name. Incredible how you hire these folk. It also admitted that it works for and ADVOCATES for Loyola because that is what's paying it. It's supposed to call Monday. I'll start hold my breath. Please tell me which state agency I can file a complaint with. And since you use Medicare money, the federal agency to file a complaint. Also who at trinity, if that's still the for profit company that owns you, who their complaint department is. Thanks!

I wish I could give zero stars. Dr Daryn Ryan Cass ...has the worst bed side manor I have ever experienced. She lied to me as her patient would not provide me with medical notes I need that we discussed that she would provide. Went to medical records 3 people tired to find the note but nothing came up. I am injured.... She Dr Ryan Cass is absolutely horrible. Do not let her do surgery on you she will probably do a botch job. She did not care about me as her patient. She did not care about me or providing me with the medical paper work we discussed. Worst doctor experience I have ever had. Do not walk RUN from her office she's a monster.

First off... Some doctors are better than others. Nurse's are fantastic (usually). The office people are usually very friendly. They accidentally discovered thyroid cancer... Because I demanded a chest X-ray. I've also had back surgery fusion w rods... Didn't really help much... And follow up was erratic. I'm 73 now and handicapped... About to have cataract surgery. Over all I think Loyola is very good... Oh, you go for a 5 thousand dollars visit and they charge parking. REALLY? THAT'S insane.

I’m only giving one star because Dr. Sylvester Barnes has been treating my grandmother, who’s battling stage 4 kidney cancer — and he deserves 5 stars. This review is not about Dr. Barnes himself. He’s been great. The problem is with Dr. Barnes’ nurse, a male nurse named Joe (who conveniently didn’t provide a last name). Today, my mother called the office because my grandma urgently needed to be seen due to her condition. Instead of receiving help, my mom was treated with rudeness and disrespect by Joe, who acted extremely arrogant, sarcastic, and unprofessional the entire time. He was cocky on the phone and even raised his voice at my mom while she was calmly trying to explain that my grandmother is in no condition to sit in an ER for hours. His response? “Just take her to the ER.” And then he made it worse by lying in the medical notes, falsely claiming my mom was being aggressive on the phone — a complete fabrication. All she did was advocate for her dying mother and ask why she wasn’t being taken seriously. Rather than show any empathy, Joe escalated the situation and deflected blame, saying things like: “The doctor sees 5,000 patients. Take her to the ER.” …as if that justifies refusing care. Bottom line: Patients — especially terminal ones — deserve better. This isn’t how you treat families in crisis. Joe should not be in a position of care. He’s the reason people lose faith in healthcare professionals.

Hi I don't bring any star because my experience is too poor. I wait for my appointment 1 month and whe take my appointment the Dra. Agnes don't have any reference to my about the doctor send me to her. Until when I made my appointment never ask me bring my clinical history and. Then don't request my medical records before take me. So when she take me she don't know who I'm and send me to work. When in reference I have a lot limitations. She is not professional. Because she can cancel the appointment until she have information of me. She send me take exa m en in the hospital. But they don't have appointment until September. I need wait 5 months until speak with her and she found for me more earle appointment. Is private hospital. Looks like cheap hospital and the services and the people to the care about you. I don't the recomendate to you.
