During my son’s visit, I was told a prescription was being sent to Walgreens. Later, when I checked with Walgreens, I found out the prescription had been canceled by the provider, but no one from the clinic contacted me to let me know or explain why. I understand medications can be changed or canceled, even if it was something available over the counter like 200 mg ibuprofen, but I feel there should have been communication with me as the parent. I was left confused and had to find out myself by calling the pharmacy.
I feel the lack of communication was inconsiderate and unprofessional on the part of the nurse practitioner and the care team involved. Parents rely on healthcare providers for clear communication and trust them to keep us informed about decisions regarding our children’s care. If there was a reason the medication was canceled, that should have been explained to me.
I will be sharing this concern with the appropriate supervisor because I believe this is an area where improvement is needed. Healthcare professionals have a responsibility to make sure families understand any changes made after a visit. Moving forward, I hope better communication is provided so other parents are not left confused or unaware of changes to their child’s care plan.
Unfortunately, this experience has affected my trust in this location, and I do not feel comfortable continuing care there moving forward. I believe communication and trust between families and healthcare providers are extremely important, and this situation made me feel that standard was not met.
Took our son in with a high fever and body aches.. they took him right away and the nurses along with the Dr did an amazing job with him, even though my son was not having it at all. He gave them the hardest time but they stayed calm and was so sweet. Even though I was the frustrated one lol. Thank you💓🙏🏼
Came in for a mosquito bite that caused my son’s left eye to swell. Dr. Wilson and her medical assistant Rosario were very helpful and kind, as well as Abby and Gabby who work at the front desk. The visit itself was quick and smooth. I very much love this urgent care clinic.
The appt. for Hero on 4/5/26 went well. The doctor was great.
The appt. for Jason on 4/6/26 seemed fine, but the nurse at school told me hours prior to my urgent care visit that my son’s ears were red and possibly infected. I picked him up from school and took him to the urgent care. The dr at the urgent care told me his ears were fine. On 4/7, I took my son to see his PCP and his ears were in fact had an infection so she gave him antibiotics. Just wondering why the urgent care doctor didn’t see that when two other people did.
Even though we were a last minute walk-in, the office was very professional. The registration was quick and easy. The pediatrician had great bedside mannerism and listened to my daughters symptoms. A great place for a child's minor emergencies.
It never fails that the lil spurs urgent care team are such amazing employees there . There always real friendly and we get seen super quick nobody likes waiting hours to see a doctor. Thank you to the staff at the lil spurs urgent care near brooks city base keep up the great work y’all are do amazing. 🙏👍🏼🫶🏻
