I had a wonderful experience at HCA Hospital. I had a shoulder replacement surgery with Dr. Horn, May 15, 2026. From the pre admission, registration, Labs, through my surgery and overnight observation: the personnel was friendly, very professional and extremely COMPASSIONATE. Regardless of the department that was handling me as a patient, I always felt that they cared for my well being. Nurses: Dana during the day and Brandy at night were both very kind, benevolent and compassionate. Especially Dana, she made sure my husband understood how to take care of me at home. I realized, we won’t probably see each other again, but her touch will stay with me forever. Five stars hospital.
Wonderful staff; Mounir, the surgeon; pre-op-Julie and Jennifer friendly and efficient; nurse during 2 days-Allie; at night Emmanuel and Denzel the tech at night.
Quick response to needs. Error when I ordered lunch the second day. First day- chicken fried chicken was WONDERFUL!
I was very impressed from friendliness and efficiency!
After Dr. had seen and talked to my husband she said she was going to send him home. It was 40 minutes later and still nothing from our nurse, which we actually saw twice. Once when we first got into the room and once when she tried to draw blood which she couldn't d. Sent a lab technician in to do it,who was great. After waiting I went to the nurses station to see when we would be getting discharge papers. When I walked up our nurse was sitting in a chair reading the computer and another nurse was on the computer sitting at the desk right where I was standing in front of her
Neither of them acknowledged that I was standing there for a few minutes. Finally the nurse, ELIZABETH,looked up at and just stared at me for about a minute then begrudgingly said rudely," What do you need??". It was very obvious that she didn't want to be bothered
Is this how people are treated by ER staff? If so, maybe you should teach a class on how to treat people nicer. I worked as a nurse for many years and worked at this hospital for 15 years. I have to say it is disappointing to see how the nursing profession has changed!
I went June 26 at 7pm the Lady gave me a vaginal ultrasound. She was pregnant. They couldn’t figure out her name but when she was in my left ovary, she just pulled it out. She didn’t go back towards the uterus and pulled out the correct way. She was all the way in my left ovary, which had no issues and pulled it out really fast. Even my friend verified that she seen her yank it out the other part of the process wasn’t bad just when she pulled it out of my left ovary here. I am for five days after surgery from coming back the next day and they finally did what they needed to do. I’m still in pain from the vaginal ultrasound she did to me. I’ve had multiple ultrasounds in the past week due To what I was going through and nothing ever felt like that she definitely did that on purpose and I even asked her when she was done I said are you seriously done? Because why did it hurt when she pulled it out nothing she did going in her near that bad, she yanked it out of me so hard that I still feel her yanking it out of me five days later, even after surgery on my belly, I still feel her pulling that thing out of me and I am very hurt physically in the vaginal area due to her yanking it out of me. I pray she never does a vaginal ultrasound on anybody else again.
First time happened to have surgery in over a decade. My first time having surgery in the state of Texas. Had a great experience from coming into the 1 Day Surgery Center all the way through the actual procedure and leaving the facility. Some of the nicest and most genuine people I’ve dealt with and I really appreciated my experience there.
My 90 year old mother was brought into the ER on 4/21/26 and was hospitalized and put in room 2071 on second floor for colon resection surgery. She was treated by so many nice nurses, Tee Tee, Rosemary , Jennifer, Remya, Grace, Trish and Peter. I can’t name them all. Everyone was so wonderful ! I just wanted to say Thank you so much for treating my mother with so much kindness and compassion. God Bless all of you!!!!
Everyone was kind & personable introducing & explaining things along my day surgery journey. I would like to recognize Michelle, Linda, Mack, Raven, Kelvin, Melisa, Amanda & Villa (?). Her name was a longer name but to save my life I cannot remember how it was spelt!! She was in recovery with me. Please extend my sincerest gratitude to these incredible professionals that take so much pride in their ability to help others! I look forward to seeing everyone again!!!
I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience truly touched my heart and I felt I needed to share.
We came into HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast feeling worried and unsure, especially with everything going on and seeing my mom in so much pain. As a daughter, it’s one of the hardest things to feel so helpless in that moment.
But the nurses who cared for her changed everything.
From the way they spoke to her, to how attentive and gentle they were, you could tell they genuinely cared. They didn’t treat her like just another patient they treated her with dignity, compassion, and like she mattered. And in turn, they made me feel like I wasn’t alone during one of the most stressful and emotional times.
I will be including their names because they absolutely deserve to be recognized. Their kindness, patience, and heart made all the difference for my family. I’ve experienced other hospital stays with loved ones before, and I can honestly say I’ve never felt this level of care.
While the hospital itself could use some remodeling and updates, the staff is truly top-notch. The care we received is something I will never forget.
I’m beyond grateful for the way they took care of my mom and for the peace they gave me when I needed it most.
