The nursing staff at Fox Chase Cancer Center was largely kind, attentive, and compassionate toward my father. They are not the problem. The problem is the system they work within.
Our family experienced consistent deception, vague answers, and a complete failure of realistic communication regarding my father’s condition and care. We were never given clear expectations, honest assessments, or direct answers unless we pushed aggressively for them. The result was constant confusion, uncertainty, and the overwhelming feeling that my father was being processed through a standard protocol rather than receiving individualized medical care.
One glaring example was nutrition management. My father could not eat and was placed on a PICC line for nutritional support. The nutrition solution he was given was primarily composed of sugars such as maltodextrin and glucose. This is basic, widely known information: cancer cells thrive on sugar. Pumping a sugar-heavy solution into a cancer patient is indefensible in a facility that brands itself as a leading cancer center. This should never have happened.
This was not an isolated issue. It reflected a broader pattern of passive treatment, box-checking, and a lack of critical thinking or accountability. Unless you asked very specific, pointed questions, information was withheld or glossed over. If you took anything at face value, you were strung along.
When my father was discharged and later required emergency care, he was denied readmission due to “no available beds” and left in another hospital for days without oncology care. His condition deteriorated significantly. There was no urgency, no ownership, and no sense that anyone was truly advocating for him.
Fox Chase presents itself as a place of expertise, leadership, and patient-centered care. Our experience was the opposite. This felt like a business operation managing volume, not a healthcare institution fighting for lives.
If you find yourself in this facility, come prepared. Ask questions relentlessly. Demand clear answers. Do not assume anyone is connecting the dots for you. If you are not your own advocate, no one else will be.
Based on our experience, I would not trust Fox Chase Cancer Center with the life of someone I love.
I had an exceptional experience with Dr. Arielle Weiss, who performed my uterine sarcoma surgery. From the very beginning, she demonstrated outstanding professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail. She took the time to explain everything clearly, which helped me feel informed and reassured before the operation.
The surgery itself went very well, and I am deeply grateful for her expertise and skill. What meant even more to me was her continued care and support during the postoperative period — she remained attentive, kind, and genuinely concerned about my recovery.
Dr. Weiss is not only a highly qualified oncologic surgeon, but also a truly empathetic and dedicated doctor. I feel very fortunate to have been under her care and would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a specialist.

It has taken me 5 years to be able to leave this review. Everyone told us to go to Fox Chase, that that is where they would go if their daughter was sick with cancer.
First off, the nursing staff are incredible and should be regarded for all that they do. It is the disconnect in patient care with doctors handing off patients to interns and having very little follow up along the way. We saw a series of doctors due to this and no one ever had the same story for us. Our family was deceived, never given realistic answers or prognosis. The communication between us and our home care was worse. It was not until hours before we lost our daughter that we were told they couldn't help us any further and were placing her on hospice. And even then, the doctor on the phone could not tell me my child was dying. It was a hospice nurse who was honest enough with me about it all. We pushed for wound care help and more options, all met with no answers. The standard of care was not individualized for my daughter and her unique situation. I warn anyone I talk to, tell them to look elsewhere and be very aggressive in what you need. The medical community is failing us all when it comes to canver treatment. 😪 It is a doctor's responsibility to give patients the necessary information in order to make an informed decision. They failed at that.
If you need support for pancreatic cancer, this institution is where you need to be. I could never put into words all of the gratitude our family has for Dr. Igor Astsaturov, who treated my dad. For anyone dealing with pancreatic cancer, he is THE best. We had extremely qualified doctors across 6 or 7 institutions, yet he is the standout. For over a year and half, we received consistent care, expertise, and time. He beholds a unique blend of compassion, well-informed and up-to-date researched expertise, the highest competence, thoroughness to understand the circumstances, willingness to consider unorthodox treatments, willingness to dig into the complex details and nuances, and generosity to make time for his patients. He is truly one of a kind!
Dr. Astsaturov treated my dad in person but mostly remotely and was willing to do anything he could (even with challenging and sometimes complex red tape), working with multiple institutions' record and ordering systems. He always had a "do whatever it takes" attitude to help us. For example, he never let distance be the barrier to getting testing/imaging done. He always explained everything in terms we could understand, and he was willing to consider ideas we had and review clinical trials or new/novel or emerging treatments we discovered.
The team with whom he works is stellar. We also had the good fortune of getting support from Dr. Josh Meyer as well, who complimented the exceptional care we received from Dr. Astsaturov. The nursing staff, assistants, and navigators, including Debbie, helped us so much. We could go on and on with endless praise for Fox Chase.
Cancer is such an overwhelming challenge, and we want other families to have confidence in selecting a healthcare institution. Our family believes in the team at Fox Chase!
From the moment I walked into Fox Chase Cancer Center and met Dr Jason Condor, my husband and I knew we were in the right place and in good hands. A cancer diagnosis turns your world upside down, but the team at Fox Chase immediately replaced fear with confidence. Dr. Jason Condor is exceptional. He is not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but also calm, compassionate, and reassuring. He treated me like a " beloved" member of his own family while consoling and navigating me through this shocking and life altering event. He took the time to explain every detail of my diagnosis and treatment plan in a way that made me feel informed and empowered instead of overwhelmed. I never felt rushed, dismissed, or like "just another patient." I felt seen, heard, and genuinely cared for. The coordination between Fox Chase and Temple Health was seamless. Every nurse, technician, and staff member treated me with kindness and respect. The level of professionalism combined with warmth made an incredibly difficult season of my life much more manageable. Cancer is frightening, but having a team like this behind you makes all the difference. I am deeply grateful for the expertise, compassion, and dedication shown to me every step of the way. I would recommend Fox Chase Cancer Center and Dr. Jason Condor without hesitation to anyone facing a cancer diagnosis, he is undoubtedly the best in his field at what he does, and this high praise is coming directly from a former Surgical Services RN with many years in the field under her belt, " I sure know how to pick them."
My brother is being treated at fox chase now for gastric cancer. I must say THANK YOU to the nursing staff. They are top tier. The problem I have is with the doctor in the DRU. I take him to all of his appointments. He was sent to the dru to be seen. I asked questions about specific blood levels that he told were elevated ( wbc's ) he was discharged and sent home. My brother is now admitted with pneumonia 2 weeks later! I felt as though he was just dismissed and was thrown out to find his own way. The previous doctor in the dru was excellent. He was caring. Compassionate and had a wonderful bedside manner. I also had to ask the nsg staff in the dru about the dr coming back to see him ,only after I continued to hear them laughing and talking and planning things to do. Once I went out to the desk. The doctor came in shortly afterwards.
First class cancer center. Appointments always run on time. The staff is wonderful, caring, helpful. There are greeters to help you find your way around. Large waiting areas for family to wait for you. There is a Starbucks kiosk, a gift shop, a cafeteria and a snack shop. They also have weekly vendors with all different kind of items for sale. Wheelchairs are at the doorways of parking lot. The doctors are top notch, for my breast cancer I used dr. Richard Bleicher, he is amazing, I highly recommend him. I also used Dr. Rubin in Gyno. He is amazing as well. This is the place you want to be if you have cancer. Also for family members waiting for you, the cafeteria has very good food

At first I wasnt sure was sure which hospital I should visit for my treatment. But with lots of prayer and reseaching I choose Fox and I am SO very glad that I did. I so much appreciate my 2 doctors that preformed the surgery on me. Dr. W. and Dr. W.
