I have been a patient of this practice since 2020 and cannot make enough praiseworthy comments about the excellent level of care I have received regarding skin cancer and other dermatology issues. I especially want to mention PA Gina who has guided and supported me with my personal skin concerns and wellness journey. I trust her care without question and rely on her to ensure my skin health is the best it can be. She is the ultimate skin care medical professional who treats her patients with dignity and compassion. My sincere and heartfelt thanks!
About 4 yrs ago I came here to have some cherry angioma removed. I was happy with the results that late last year I came for a cool peel. I paid $2,500 for 3 sessions and immediately I told the Dr I was not happy. Not happy after the 1st not happy with the 2nd or 3rd. My brown spots did not disappear as told they would. My finger lines are still there. I'm so disappointed in the results. I was offered 1 free needling which I didn't go back for. Researching, 1 session would not do anything I would need at least 3 and I was not going to get suckered into paying one penny more. I'm out $2,500. It would have been $3,00 if I didn't pay all upfront. Discuss what is to be expected and take your own before and after pictures don't just go by their camera.
Dr. Sara Gaspard is an excellent doctor. I’ve been seeing her for the past six years, and she has always been extremely helpful and attentive. Even when I was visiting another state and going through a very difficult situation with my skin, she still found a way to support me and guide me through treatment. I truly appreciate her professionalism, compassion, and the time she takes to make sure her patients feel heard and cared for. She is one of the few doctors I fully trust.
The office staff are kind and professional. Dr. Heather Butler is a seasoned doctor who is so sweet and gentle. She takes the time to hear what I am telling her and addresses the issue with no rush. I love that before the appointment is complete she makes sure that I have no further concerns or questions. It is such a wonderful feeling when the doctor really listens to you. I love Dr Gaspard! She is so approachable, down to earth. Feels like you're visiting a friend. Office staff is very polite and efficient. In and out quickly without feeling rushed. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Short summary: some staff are unprofessional, I had complications with their Botox injections and experienced poor communication among staff.
Parking is expensive and a pain as well and they dont validate.
Long version of my experience:
I’ve been coming to Comprehensive Dermatology for maybe a year now for botox.
They are the high end of Botox pricing, $15/unit, and each of my visits costs from $500-$600 every 3 months, so this is a lot of money invested on my part.
I never loved this place, the vibe always felt cold and rushed. I didn’t feel staff were receptive to questions and I was new to botox. I dont feel like the process or what to expect was adequately communicated.
Things got worse recently when I asked for the photos they take before the appointments so I could see my progress.
Initially they told me they would check to see if they were allowed to send me photos. Which is interesting because they are my medical records and pictures of my face. And I also didn’t understand why they would be cagey about this. Wouldn’t they want their clients to understand how their treatments are working?
They never followed up so I texted again a week later asking. They sent through very low res photos. I asked if they could try emailing them because they were so poor quality I couldn’t see any detail in my face, to which she said no, and the quality of the photos is just how it is.
Dr. Gaspard’s assistant spent a long time coming up with excuses and at one point something to the effect of “sorry these photos aren’t up to your standards”. No solutions provided, she could no care less and wanted to make that clear by taking unprofessional jabs at me.
So I asked if I could see the photos in person at my touch up appointment and she responded, “sure”.
An hour later, another assistant saw our conversation and downloaded the photos and emailed them to me and Lo and behold they were high res. So Dr. Gaspard’s assistant was not only rude but was also incorrect (or lying) about the photos.
So then my touch appointment was today. I confirmed with multiple people that the touch up appointments are complimentary. However at the appointment today they tried to charge me $90.
I spoke to the office manager who kept trying to move the goal post by saying “well you needed to book your touch up 2 weeks after your initial injections” which I had, I had called precisely 2 weeks after my appointment and the rude woman said they couldn’t get me in until next week which seemed like a lie, and the office manager seemed confused by that as well.
Then she stated touch ups have a limit for units, they only do up to 4-6 units, which if that is true was never communicated to me. I needed touch ups because my face was uneven and my brow lift was uneven. I needed 6-10 units for the touch up to correct the first visit.
I was ultimately not charged for today but there were excuses and resistance on her end before we got to that resolution.
Lastly, I had pretty large bumps on my face from the injection sites today that I’ve never had before. The assistant told me I must not have noticed the bumps before at my previous injections. I know for a fact I did not have bumps on my face ever until today. The bumps aren’t a big deal (as long as they go away eventually…) I just dont appreciate being gaslit by someone speculating that I’ve always had bumps when I know I haven’t.
She said they’d be gone by the time I get to my car and fast forward 5.5 hours later they are still present and one of them looks like it’s starting to bruise.
I’m glad I can finally close the chapter on this place and try somewhere new. I still have $30 worth of units credited on my account there from a pre-pay but I would rather lose that money than have to go back there.
