I had no idea the Centers Urgent Care of Gateway Brooklyn at 1202 Elton Street was within walking distance of my neighborhood, in a very nice area of East New York, still being gentrified! The Center is clean, efficient, and it was very easy and quick for me to be seen by a doctor--within 20 minutes!!! You must bring your insurance card, which shows your Urgent Care fee. If you don't have insurance, I would call to see what the procedure is for that, but I suspect you will still be taken care of and a payment schedule would be worked out for you. It is so much better than going to an emergency room of a hospital! I was quickly seen for the cough and cold I thought I had, which turned out to be a terrible bout of allergies I got after vacationing in another part of the country. I was given a prescription after a thorough check of my health history, and a brief talk with the doctor about allergies. I got medication within 2 hours from my neighborhood pharmacy, and the next day I felt so much better! Take care of your health! If you can't get to your primary care physician right away, Urgent Care is the best place to go! I had a fantastic experience! The staff is excellent!!!
Staff very welcoming , felt very comforatable , nurse assistant assertive , registra very helpful and knowledgeable. The PA Alexa Jackowski Was very diligent in making sure my needs were met and she gave great medical advice and showed compassion for my pain and medical disadvantages.....not sure if this trio is the regular staff but they were amazing even down to the wait time ...i would recommend this facility any day with this staff...
Nice office, nice staff, clean area and convenient to get to. I rode my bike over there. There is a pharmacy right down the corner on the same block which is very convenient if they accept your insurance for your medicine. Please check that the pharmacy accepts your insurance or just use your usual pharmacy. I ended up having to pay full price for my prescription because the pharmacy didn’t accept my insurance. Gladly, it wasn’t too expensive but it would have saved me a bit of money had I travelled to my usual pharmacy.
The entire staff was extremely warm, friendly, yet professional and personable. Each member listened attentively to my issues and needs and thoroughly worked to resolve them, from the receptionists to the PAs. I went 2x in 2 weeks, and each time the wait time was under 5 minutes. I strongly recommend using this location to attend to your medical needs.
Arrived at a time when the center was not busy. I was seen immediately and given the results of their findings. A prescription was promptly sent to my pharmacy of choice. The staff was very polite and professional. The facility was very clean. I have certainly recommended this center to my friends and family.
Horrible experience. The white male doctor that worked Saturday June 28th 2026 was so nasty to me and made me cry. I was so confused he knew nothing about long covid, denied me services and everything. He was so nasty dealing with my situation because he wasn’t knowledgeable. I would never recommended unless you are bringing someone like a man with you. Mind you I’m black so who knows why
My baby wasn’t feeling well and irritable and crying they were still so patient and kind with her checked. Her out sent over her prescriptions fast friendly and sufficient service
My daughter had an allergic reaction to almonds and we went there for treatment. She was given a steroid shot, when it was time to leave, I asked for a print out of the visit and was told that they would email it to me within a few hrs.
10 minutes later my child's face was swollen and her hands were covered with hives. We went back, as we were 2 blocks away and they had closed, so we went to the ER at Kings County. They were great! We were able to deduce what shot was likely given to my daughter, but, how much easier it would've been if they'd just given me our discharge papers?
The next day I called them and someone else tells me that they can't email me the discharge papers because of HIPPA laws..... so why did they tell me they would???
Because it was closing time and they wanted us out of there so they could leave. If this was something more important/ dangerous, my daughter could've lost her life because of this.
I wouldn't tell anyone not to go there, but, please, make sure you are given proper discharge papers with any meds that you were given before you leave!
