Yesterday morning at around 8:30 am I attempted to make a new patient appointment online. It requires you to select your exact insurance plan and mine was not listed, so I called and spoke to someone who said it was listed under an Arizona plan (I have a California plan) so it would have been impossible for me to navigate online.
I proceeded to make an appointment on the phone while I had her. I asked the next available and she told me it was 6/17 at 10:30 am. Great! I was expecting them to be scheduling out, but this time worked for my meeting schedule so we made the appointment. We got through the entire appointment scheduling before she told me it was actually at the central location, not the Scottsdale location where I got the number. It isn't the most convenient, but we got this far so I agreed. I got an appointment confirmation email.
I took time off work and arrived 30 minutes before my appointment to be told the provider I had an appointment with was not in today and they called me yesterday at 12:10 to let me know. After checking, I do have a call at that time. It was not from the number I called to make the appointment. They did not leave a message nor did they leave a recording stating why they were calling on the call screener. I have no email notification, no text notification, no voicemail that my appointment was cancelled.
Stuff happens, I am extremely flexible. I do not care if you need to reschedule my appointment, but this was an absolute waste of time from start to finish. One missed call from a random number with no voicemail hours after it was scheduled is an unacceptable way to inform patients that their appointment is cancelled.
I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Kahn and the staff at Advanced Dermatology. Having dealt with basal cell and squamous cell skin cancers, I’ve had several procedures performed here and have always received exceptional care. Dr. Kahn combines expertise with a caring bedside manner, and the entire office operates with professionalism and efficiency. Everyone—from the reception staff to the technicians and assistants—makes you feel comfortable and well cared for. An outstanding practice that I recommend without hesitation.
I absolutely love Michelle Davis! She is incredibly friendly, personable, and truly makes you feel comfortable the moment you walk in. As an existing client, I really appreciate how she always takes the time to ease my mind about whatever is going on with my skin at the time—she’s knowledgeable, reassuring, and genuinely cares.
One of the things I value most is how easy it is to get on her schedule, even for last-minute needs. That level of flexibility is such a gift and shows how much she prioritizes her clients.
Beyond her skill and professionalism, Michelle is just an amazing person. I genuinely look forward to my appointments and love coming to her for all of my dermatology needs. I couldn’t recommend her more!
Even though I arrived early I was taken back without a long delay. Dr Halmi saw me shortly after that. He conducted his exam and answered all my questions courteously and efficiently. His staff was also efficient and courteous. They have been excellent monitoring me for skin cancer.
I’ve been coming to this dermatologist for a few year now for my annual skin check, and everyone has been quite kind. Dr. Davis is wonderful and is very communicative with any issues/concerns that may be brought up or that she may see while performing the exam. I am glad I found this dermatologist office, and highly recommend them.
This clinic has been harassing me for over a month for a bill that my insurance did pay but sent the check to the wrong address. The moment I got the bill for non payment I called my insurance and their billing and we figured out it was a simply error of the address. Now for some reason my insurance said it would take up to 6 weeks to process but since then I have gotten text messages, email messages and now a threat to take it to collections. Every time I call, I respond to the emails. I was told I can just ignore it, but today I got an email response basically saying tough
they will send it to collections if they don’t get paid, but it’s not even been a month since this whole thing started! Also it seems their billing department is out of county and really doesn’t have the authority to stop all these incessant texts and emails. To be honest as well I felt that the yearly skin checks I have been having were always rushed and took less than 10 minutes and were not thorough. I am fair skinned, green eyes and have a lot of freckles and small moles on my body. Every time I have had to ask the doctor to check certain places like under my breasts where I have some. But the whole thing is just rushed! I won’t be coming back. And if they screw up my 820 credit score over this I am going to be livid!
I had a follow up appointment with Dr. Laffer for skin treatment. I received three months ago. The treatment was good. I had positive results. I’ve been going to Dr. Laffer for several years now for skin check ups. Dr. Laffer and his staff are very professional, friendly and courteous, and I would highly recommend them to anybody. Thank you.
Incredible experience with Dr Khan and her staff. Upon getting my path results of Basal Cell on my face from another practice, I wanted surgery ASAP. When that practice didn’t get back to me to schedule, I contacted my friend in Chicago who is a Mohs surgeon for another recommendation. He gave me Dr Khan’s name. I called and spoke with Danielle who was amazing. She allowed me to send my records from my other practice and I was scheduled the next day for surgery without needing yet another consult. The day of my surgery, I met with Dr Khan and her medical assistants to review my treatment plan and then started my procedure. They were all so warm, welcoming, informative and efficient that I felt confident they would do a great job.
I have been in the medical field for 33 years and my experience with this practice was outstanding. I would not hesitate to book your appointment here. And by the way, my “former” practice still has not gotten back to me with a surgical date!!!
