I am 71 years old and have been dealing with foot issues for quite some time.For the last 10 years multiple problems with my left foot seemed to be multiplying. I was having major edema, my foot was veering off to the left. My heal was sliding to the left and my in step, arch area was forming a large bulging cluster of bones, some breaking and chipping away while suffering from osteoarthritis. I had been seeing a podiatrist who eventually referred me to an orthopedic surgeon. He walked in the room and said after seeing my X-rays and my MRI that I needed major reconstructive foot surgery. He also told me that in my case it may be best to have it amputated. I went to Google to search for options and found Midwest Orthopedic by Rush in Chicago. Since I live 2 hours east of Chicago this was a doable option. I called and was able to setup an appointment with Dr. Johnny Lin. He came in the room and had nothing but encouraging news for me. I am currently 20 days post surgery that included the fusion of multiple bones, the straightening of my foot and a lot of internal cleanup. I have been pain free since day 7. I have had amazing care from every part of their medical staff. I highly recommend Dr Johnny Lin as well the entire medical team at Midwest Orthopedic by Rush. Harold Hartman
