I have been attending this dentist for many years. I have always seen the dentist for both checkups and treatment. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that my crown ma be coming detached but was fine because I had an appointment booked in with the dentist. Went today expecting to see the dentist but was told to go upstairs and saw who I think was the hygienist. When I told her about my crown she said theres nothing she can do and I need to make an appointment to see the dentist. Very confusing as I thought I was seeing a dentist. Went downstairs told the receptionist I was confused and why havent I seen a dentist to be told the dentist only do check ups if you have stated you have a problem when booking the appointment. After thirty years or so of seeing only a dentist are we supposed to be mind readers when things change. I now have to wait another six weeks to see the dentist but. Not happy !!!
Further to my post written a few weeks ago I had a phonecall on Friday 26th June to inform me because I was having problems with my crown I would have to have my appointment cancelled due to the lady I had my appointment booked in with was the dental hygienist. So again I was to be seeing the same lady that couldnt fix my problem on my previous appointment. Then I was told that one dentist is on long term sick and the new dentist can’t start yet. It’s not good enough!!
Positive
Denticed and assistant were both professional and polite
Negative
Its impossible to get in touch no1 ever answers the phone I tried for days had to call in to speak to some1 in person.
When you do walk in 3 people are behind the counter 2 laughing and joking between themselfs and 1 serving the customers.
You've to wait until that person has finished (doing there job ie dealing with customers) before been acknowledged.
Phone is ringing constantly and whilst staff are available no1 picks it up. Really poor service in that regards.
Appointment was on time, the dentist and assistant were professional, as always, and explained what they were doing. I'm nervous at the dentist, due to a previous bad experience, but I am always comfortable and at ease at Townend Dental. The reception staff are friendly and attentive. The reception area and treatment room was clean, and in a good state of repair. Keep up the good work guys, I am so happy I came to your practice.
Worst dentist ever, they don’t pick up their phone. They are rude to patients and have no patient care whatsoever. Receptionist have the worst attitude I have ever seen. No compassion whatsoever. Said they don’t pick up their phone when there’s a patient waiting mind you, I had rang them since 9am till 2pm and you’re told you’re first on the line and then you’re disconnected. I rang them whilst I was there just to make sure, the phone was ringing and there was no one waiting and it still wasn’t answered. I have honestly never met any practice like that. It’s such a shame because their female dentist upstairs is really polite. The dental assistant was late to the appointment, walked in half way through procedure like she wasn’t part of the team, no apologies or greetings mind you she was downstairs sitting and chilling not doing anything downstairs. Shocking
Visited yesterday and saw Silpa and Chloe. Absolute fantastic service and was treated with kindness and respect throughout my visit. Would definitely recommend this practice.
I see Eddie for both my dental care and for my 2 boys. Eddie is an excellent dentist. I have an irrational fear of the dentist but Eddie is caring and always takes the time to ask me about how the boys are doing and if I’m ok in general which is really appreciated. Thank you.
I was scared as it was my first visit to a dentist since covid.(2020)- my old dentist retired during covid so had to find another one.
I broke 2 teeth so HAD to finally pluck up courage to see a dentist.
The dentist I saw was very patient and understanding.
She did a very thorough examination and I have to go back for fillings.
She made me feel at ease.
Paula on reception was lovely too, and Ive been chatting to Chelsea on reception recently who finally persuaded me to come for a check up.
Lovely receptionist my dentist Eddie was as usual very cheerful having 2 teeth out was daunting for me but it went better than I thought his assistant very helpful always
