A big thank you everyone in this hospital. I had keyhole surgery for prostate cancer and the entire team are just an extraordinary group of people, professional and so kind. Naturally when you arrive you are full of nerves but everything is so well organised and professional that that helps you to calm down. My thanks to James and Eva in Ward 11c for taking time to explain things to me carefully. The other nurses and doctors were, of course, just great too. I am just sorry that I cannot remember their names. What a wonderful place! Thank you all.
Absolutely outstanding help from all the staff I saw today at the immediate assessment unit, smiles, reassuring, kind, patient, pleasant, walked me through what was a scary day of tests (that were all luckily ok) but were sympathetic, good conversation whenever I spoke to anyone, and they were even kind enough to give out cups of tea/coffee, biscuits, and sandwiches in the waiting room.
Lovely people, if any of you read this, I was the weird man in the yellow basketball vest, Im very grateful and I wish you all so well :)

Although quite a large hospital it's fairly easy to find way around, and plenty help available at reception, couple of handy shops, and public transport onsite
I was admitted to the QEH on Friday 13th March after getting blue lighted from Crosshouse hospital due to low platelets. I was admitted to high dependency where I recieved a plasma transfusion. I was transferred to ward 7c, and then ward 10c orthapaedics. The staff were amazing and the level of care and support I recieved from the nurses and doctors was second to none and constantly checked on me to see if I was ok. I also want to say thank you to orthapaedics staff for changing my cast and making sure everything was ok . Also, thank you to the physios for doing a great job getting me mobile . I just want to say a big thank you to you all🙂
Start to finish horror show.
Took my first ever seizure in a cinema. Was not assessed for any neurological emergency for atleast 6 hours. No where to lie down so I had to lie down on the floor while shaking. I started to lose who I was and apparently wandering wards, was informed a nurse found it funny by the person with me. No one seemed concerned that I was having a neurological emergency.
Finally got seen and the doc (bald guy, 40s) noticed I was son prescribed CBD oil. Because I had some drinks before the cinema he blamed it on the CBD interacting and sent me home without a scan.
When someone tells you they were in a cinema, the characters started talking a funny language (gibberish), they start seeing flashing lights, they lose awareness and 30 minutes later they are outside the screen with a staff member, with limited motors skills , seeing letters and words in reverse before finally vommiting you GET 👏🏻 A 👏🏻 SCAN 👏🏻 ORGANIZED.
I was sent home with no tests and I am furious.
From start to finish, endless points of fail and my empathy for NHS staff is frankly dwindling. You chose these careers, you're playing with lives, inadequacy is just as dangerous as no help at all.
My husband collapsed in the bathroom about 4 in the morning and I went with him in the ambulance. The staff who attended to him were absolutely magnificent!!!
They did all sorts of tests, they kept me fully informed each step of the way. I can't thank them enough!!!
My first time being admitted to hospital after having an infection following my wisdom teeth removal surgery. From the moment i got there the staff were unbelievably helpful. I ended up spending 4 nights here and the level of care and support from all of the nurses, doctors and surgeons was amazing. Even the day after i had surgery some of the people that may only had been there as a consultant were checking inn to see how i was. Even the staff that make the food and bring round the teas/ coffee were all so nice and friendly.
The entire ward was clean, quiet and not overly crowded. Managed to get seen to straight away and they got me a bed just as quickly.
Im very fortunate to have had such an amazing team help me in the neuroscience building ward 63. What an amazing group of people. They all deserve a pay rise.

My husband has been in the vascular ward (11) for past 7 weeks and the care he is receiving is exemplary. All the staff have been so kind considerate, not only to him but to myself and all his visitors. A wee mention for Chris, who came with the menu, he remembered what hubby liked and didn't like and always tried to find something.(including a wee ice cream) Couldn't ask for better.
