One of the best dental experiences to date. my dentist was fantastic, explaining all the steps in the treatment in detail putting me at ease. His attention to detail in matching the fillings to my existing teeth was exceptional. It took longer than planned but the outcome was worth it. There is more work to be done but I have no apprehensions. I am in safe hands
I brought my two teens here who haven't been to a dentist for at least 2-3 years as we couldn't find NHS dentist. The check up by Punit Kumar was not very thorough. Both were told they need several fillings. A bit of background - neither drink pop or juice (daughter only very occasionally), no sweets, occasional chocolate/cake treats. They were both home educated so yes I do know what they consume on a daily basis. Both brush twice a day. I didn't expect their teeth to be perfect, but to be told at 15 and 17ish that both need several fillings!! I was super surprised!!! Took them to a private dentist, other than some plaque and advise to floss with better brushing techniques, NO FILLINGS NEEDED!!! Omg, if I hadn't taken notice of my own instict, they both would have had unnecessary work done! I get that if they were on the border line, you may have differing opinions of whether it's best to do it now or later, but completely contrary advise??? I did feel in the check up, that the whole thing was rushed and without much care. I then requested both to be removed from their practice several times, still getting reminders for check up.
Been with these dentist a long time and they are really professionally. I've had a gap in my two front teeth after a filling came out and they filled it but left a gap which it really knocked my confidence and I spoke to my dentist Zena about how its making me feeling and she's filler the gap with temp because something with with my teeth not been nothing they but wow I love it and cant stop smiling she did say when it come out she'll have to put s denture on but im just so happy
Finally, after many years waiting I’ve managed to find a NHS dentist. Ezzuldin Ahmed was amazing, very friendly and thorough in his checks. The reception staff were also very friendly and attentive. I’m very happy with the service I received.
Repeated Cancellations, Poor Communication and Concerns About Continuity of Care
I have given this practice 1 star because this reflects my experience as an NHS patient.
In summary, my experience has been characterised by repeated appointment cancellations, poor communication, unanswered emails, missed promises to return calls, uncertainty regarding ongoing treatment and a lack of confidence that concerns raised by patients are being properly addressed.
I always book my next routine check-up before leaving the practice so I can plan work commitments well in advance. During 2025, four of my appointments were cancelled by the practice. Despite this, I also received a reminder stating I was overdue for a check-up, even though the missed appointments resulted from cancellations made by the practice.
Following these cancellations, I contacted the practice multiple times by telephone and email. I was repeatedly told the practice manager would contact me, but the promised callbacks never happened. I also received no responses to emails regarding the cancelled appointments.
I was initially told my dentist was on leave. I then booked online with another dentist, only to discover that the dentist had already left and the booking system had not been updated.
When I eventually spoke to the practice manager, she acknowledged management and oversight issues and admitted one of my requests for a callback had been lost. I was assured improvements would be made and advised to contact her directly if further issues arose.
I also raised concerns about appointments regularly starting late despite booking the first appointment of the day. I was told new dentists would join after Christmas 2025 and that I would be transferred to one of them. As of June 2026, I have had no update.
At my January 2026 appointment, I booked a routine follow-up for July 2026. In June 2026, I was informed this had been cancelled without explanation. Following previous advice, I again requested a callback. The receptionist said she would pass on my details and hoped the practice manager would contact me. No call was received.
I also have concerns regarding continuity of treatment. Following a root canal in early 2024, I was advised a crown would be required because the tooth would be weaker. Despite further appointments, including a check-up, periodontal cleaning and two fillings in January 2026, the crown has not been fitted and the issue has not been discussed again. This has left me unclear whether it is still required or whether the treatment plan has changed.
I am also concerned the repeated delays and cancellations may have affected my oral health. After going about a year without being seen, I required a periodontal cleaning and two fillings. I cannot say whether this would have happened regardless, but the disruption to my care has left me questioning whether earlier intervention may have reduced the treatment required.
Another NHS patient in my family has experienced similar issues with cancellations. Having also read other reviews, I note concerns about cancellations, communication and difficulty obtaining appointments raised by other patients.
I cannot comment on private patients. However, as an NHS patient, I have found it difficult to obtain reliable appointments and communication. At the same time, private treatments and services appear readily available. Whether intentional or not, this creates the impression NHS patients are not receiving the same level of service.
I appreciate that illness and staffing issues can occur. However, repeated cancellations, unanswered emails, poor communication, uncertainty regarding treatment plans and lack of follow-through over an extended period suggest systemic issues that should have been addressed.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this practice to anyone seeking a reliable NHS dental service.
Our actual dentist is spot on. She takes time to explain procedures, is gentle and considerate. Can't fault her one little bit. It's the practice in general that has a problem.
This was the fourth time we'd tried to be seen. Three appointments had been cancelled by the surgery, but it was us getting the "if you don't attend you'll be taken from our books" message. Try ringing them, you're 6 in que, 5 in que until you get to 2 then it cuts you off telling you to leave a message. You get put through to voicemail only to be told that the voicemail is full and to try again later.
Their website gives opening times, what it doesn't say is they close for lunch. Something I found out when I drove down to let them know that my wife was poorly and couldn't attend her appointment.
Oh yes, additional. The email they sent asking for us to fill out medical details, well the link don't work either and when you try to report it..........well see above!
I have used this surgery for many years the past few have been sketchy and unacceptably unreliable with cancelled appointments and lost records to name but 2.
HOWEVER!!!
This morning I saw a new dentist known as Jay....she is the most thorough, professional, caring and empathetic dentist I have ever seen (I'm late 60s in age so I've seen a few) after a comprehensive examination we agreed a course of treatments with possible avenues of change to fully formulate an agreed treatment plan....no actual work done on my teeth yet but after today's visit my hopes are high and my confidence even higher.
I have always had very professional treatment, making you feel at ease.My right lower tooth which is a crown came loose, The receptionist Jess got me an appointment with Hannah, I had an xray to see if there was any infection which I was concerned about, no infection was so pleased, going back to the dentist in a weeks time to see another dentist Maria to see what is going to be the best solution.I would defiantly give a 5 star 🌟 rateing, Thank you to all staff.
