As a tourist suffering from a highly painful condition (shingles), being referred to this clinic—a 20-minute walk away from the central station's tourist clinic I originally booked—was already exhausting. However, the real nightmare was the front desk service.
First, the queue management was frustrating and questionable. A white male patient who arrived after me was seen by the doctor before me, simply because he claimed to have called ahead, making my on-site check-in feel completely useless.
The worst part was the receptionist's shocking lack of empathy and professionalism. I needed a medical certificate in English for my insurance. When she asked for the medical name of my condition, I read it to her in English twice. She sighed heavily and impatiently told me she couldn't understand. When I turned my phone screen to show her the correct English spelling, she bluntly replied, "I cannot read."
Thankfully, the doctor happened to be near the reception area and intervened in English so I could finally get my document. Facing such hostility and deliberate difficulties, I couldn't help but wonder: was I treated with such blatant disrespect simply because I am Asian? Is this racial discrimination?
Dealing with such a rude and unhelpful receptionist when you are sick and vulnerable in a foreign country is an absolutely terrible experience. The administrative staff needs serious customer service and diversity training.
Visiting Amsterdam as a tourist, I suffered from sudden floaters and vision impairment in my right eye while biking. I got a same day appt at this practice and, after an exam, I was given a referral to see an opthalmologist at a local hospital. Turns out I had 2 retinal tears in my eye and had to have immediate laser surgery. Had I not gone to this practice, my retina could have detached and I could have gone blind. The people at this practice were wonderful and I am very, very grateful.
Unbelievable unprofessional doctors. I booked an urgent appointment as I had an intense chest pain and numbness on my left side the whole day and explained that I had called the emergency in the morning. I arrived 10 minutes late cause I was at work when that happened and the doctor would not accept me and said to come tomorrow! So you are telling me that my appointment was only 10minutes and you are so unprofessional to not do the extra mile to examine a young person you is telling you that is almost experiencing something like a stroke ? What if I have a stroke they say after? I have to go to the emergency now to check my health.
