I have been going to Supersavers for a few years now. The Optician was very friendly and professional and I cannot fault that. However the reception and dispensing Opticians are really lacking. Not friendly at all no smiling very disinterested in me as a customer zero advice with choosing frames. I was so disappointed as my late father had a background in Optics I chose to support a smaller optician rather than a chain. I regret to say I will not be returning I felt so uncomfortable that I chose a frame that a. Doesn't suit me and b. I now hate . It was a complete waste of my time and money. I will look for somewhere that is pleasant and helpful. I am a naturally friendly person and the first time I gave them the benefit of the doubt but on returning to pick up my glasses it was the same. I will not be returning
Just got my eye test done for the Driving Licence (LLR) today (02.01.2026). It was a super smooth process, took hardly 10 minutes. The cost was 25 Euros, which I believe is the cheapest in Dublin city centre.
I just called the number mentioned on their website, got an appointment scheduled, and visited on time. I was welcomed by Ashlin, she was really sweet and explained the process clearly. Around 5 minutes to fill the report (you will need your PPSN) and another 5 minutes for the eye test.
Highly recommend this place for the Driving Licence eye test!
I went there yesterday and the service was not good at all — no friendliness whatsoever. The only nice person was the young woman who was assisting an elderly couple very kindly.
The older gentleman and a young bearded guy provided terrible service, as if this were the only optical shop in Dublin.
I asked to have an eye exam and explained that I needed to pick up the glasses by the 5th.
The first one scheduled it for today and said that yes, the 5th would be fine.
Today, the second one — the bearded guy, not friendly at all and quite rude — said it would depend on the prescription.
So basically, I would do the exam, pay for it, and then they might say it wouldn’t be ready in time… and I would be without my glasses for two months. That already happened last time.
Simple. I left the place. Now I’ll do it in New York during the 20 days I’ll be there… and I’ll arrive there barely able to see.
Brilliant service, both lady behind the front desk and optician were great, quick. I had eyesight test for my learner’s permit and it was quick and easy - done in 15 minutes, for less than half the price at other places there is nothing more to add to it. Definitely recommend!
Brilliant service, very helpful. I broke my glasses on holiday and probably the only store in Ireland with lenses in stock. So helpful and friendly- highly recommended a visit.
Absolutely disgraceful customer service from this store. I presented with an emergency as I had a contact stuck in my eye and this was the closest optician to my workspace. There was no one in the shop when I arrived however the man working behind the desk told me I would need an appointment? Which seems crazy to me given the nature of what brought me there in the first place. After a bit of back and forth I realised there was no common sense present here as he could not understand why I could not wait for an appointment and showed no empathy or concern, merely directed me to the closest Specsavers.
I went here for driving license eye test, their service is good and satisfying. Cheapest eye test optician place near city centre. Charge was 25 Euros only on 13th Jan 2024,Saturday which was cheaper than other opticians (30 to 55 Euros) in Dublin
Keep your PPS number with you when going to the eye test.
Important -Scooters and cycles are strictly not allowed, Need to book an appointment for eye test.
I visited this optician twice recently, and both experiences were fantastic. Ten days ago, I went for a driving eye test report for my learner's permit, and today I returned to purchase contact lenses. The blonde-haired woman who assisted me was incredibly sweet, friendly, and professional. She noticed that I am a foreigner and made an effort to speak slowly while using body language to communicate clearly. I truly appreciated her approach. The service was excellent, and the prices were also very affordable. Highly recommend this place!
