I bought a non-contact thermometer. Unfortunately, it didn't work properly. When my child had a fever of 38 degrees Celsius, it showed a temperature of 40 etc! I tested the thermometer for three days, and unfortunately, it showed the wrong temperature all the time. Finally, I went to return it. But the pharmacy wouldn't accept it! I thought it was some kind of joke. The product clearly didn't work properly. I think it's even dangerous if it shows the wrong temperature. I don't know if it's even legal for them to refuse it ... I don't recommend buying something electronic. I wasted 50 euros.
1. The pharmacist didn't check the thermometer so I have no idea why she said it was working correctly! That's not true.
How could she possibly check it? Find a customer with a fever in the pharmacy and check their temperature?
A thermometer that showed an incorrect temperature is dangerous. It should be returned and then the pharmacy should return it to the manufacturer. It's possible that other patients also have defective thermometers from this series and don't even know it.
2. The manager only called after I left a review on Google. He left a message telling me to come to the pharmacy. No one had even tried to contact me before!
I won't go back to the pharmacy several times and ask for a refund. I should have been able to return the defective item when I first visited but they refused.
Late night pharmacy it’s brilliant 👍 caters for everyone and everything at the back of the pharmacy it has everything you need for mature people with disability wheelchairs walking assistance carts . Ect ect
The staff are very knowledgeable , helpful , and friendly.
The pharmacy itself is open late until 10 pm behind the pharmacy you have doctors called Southdock that’s open after hours and late into the night
Some of the staff here are pleasant and friendly, but unfortunately the general efficiency and competence of this pharmacy leaves a lot to be desired. On one occasion, I was waiting around 15 mins which is perfectly acceptable.
On following 2 occasions, the wait time was more than 30 mins.
Finally on my most recent visit, I was kept standing around for a full hour waiting for my prescription to be dispensed... A little over 30 mins into this, I requested an update from a member of staff. I was told she would "check the queue" This person then disappeared..(presumably went home). In total, I had to repeat my details/address etc to 3 different people. While I was standing around waiting, multiple other customers were served in 10 - 15 minutes while several members of staff seemed to be busy chatting and laughing hysterically in the background. When I finally expressed some frustration to a staff member, my prescription was dispensed within 30 seconds! (incidentally this staff member was actually very friendly, and shouldn't have to pick up the slack from her coworkers).
Overall, there are a few good staff members, but others appear to be rather incompetent and let down the show.
I'll be taking my business elsewhere next time round.
I had a very positive experience with Phelan’s Pharmacy. The place feels welcoming and well-organized, not like a typical crowded pharmacy. The service is fast and efficient, and the staff are always professional, friendly, and ready to help with any questions.
What really stands out is the excellent customer care – clear communication, reliable service, and a team that makes you feel valued. It’s easy to see why so many people recommend this pharmacy.
I would highly recommend Phelan’s Pharmacy to anyone looking for a trustworthy pharmacy with outstanding staff.
We were visiting from America and had to get a prescription for my daughter. They were very busy on a Sunday morning, but we were able to get her prescription within 30 minutes. All the staff was very nice.
